It was three in the morning. Alec stared at the ceiling. His mind was foggy. He pressed Gwen's naked body closer to his. She was sound asleep and he stroked her hair gently as she slept. He focused on the angel he had in his arms. She slept so soundly , alomst like she was meeting God in her dreams. Her lashes were thick and dark . Her lips were plump from all the kisses he'd given her.
She was mumbling in her dreams. He smiled when he remembered how she'd sleepwalk. She hadn't done that for quite a while , at least he hadn't seen it.
'' Alec...'' she snuggled into his chest. She was just so adorable. He shifted the strand of hair that covered her face. Was she dreaming about him? What was going on in that beautiful mind?
'' I love you so much , Gwen. So much. '' He breathed in the scent of her hair. He wanted to live in this moment , holding her like this...forever.
His brow furrowed when he thought about his father. Ryan was not going to take this lightly. A storm was coming and Alec was afraid it'd rock his and Gwen's relationship.
Freya sat by the window in her room. She'd been waiting for hours to no avail. It was coming to four in the morning. She wasn't tired , infact she didn't know what she was feeling. It was like she was floating over her body. She didn't even realize when Ryan's car came in. There was an airy silence everywhere.
She took a deep breath and moved away from the window. She was prepared to face him. She had to. Alec deserves to be happy with the girl of his choice and she wasn't going to let his life get ruined .
His stomps we're loud as he came up the stairs. Freya faced the door and readied herself. The door slowly opened and he stood there for a few seconds before coming in.
'' Did I keep you up? '' He closed the door behind him. '' I'm so sorry. '' He was being sarcastic. Freya rolled her eyes and helped him with his coat.
'' Let's talk about this. '' She folded the coat. Ryan expanded his eyes as though he was shocked.
'' Talk about ? '' He sat on the bed's edge and took his shoes off.
'' Stop acting like this You can't ignore this.''
Her blue eyes searched his cold ones for any sign of understanding. '' Ryan-''
'' Why didn't you tell me? '' He suddenly leaped towards her and grabbed her by the elbow. '' Why didn't any of you tell me?! ''
He was yelling now. Freya jerked when his hold got tighter. She was in pain but she had to put on a brave face. '' Let go of me. ''
Ryan's brows furrowed , not in shock , but in confusion. From where did she get the nerve to lie to him and show not even a single ounce of remorse ? She was even looking him in the eye with what seemed to be disgust ! He couldn't recognize the woman in front of him.
'' Something's happened. Something's happened to you. '' He came closer to her.
'' Freya , what happened? ''
She used almost all the strength her little body could muster and tore his hand off . She had turned red in that area. She glared at him.
'' I didn't tell you because I knew you wouldn't understand. ''
'' I wouldn't understand? '' Ryan there his arms in the air. '' Damn right I wouldn't understand! Why in the world is my son dating the daughter of that man...that beast! ? ''
'' Ryan , can't you see that Alec is happy? '' Freya tried to reason with him ,but she knew it wasn't going to be easy.
'' Happy? '' Ryan clenched his jaw. '' You don't get to decide what makes my son happy. ''
'' And you think you get to? '' Freya laughed. '' For God's sake , Alec is a living being. He can decide what and who he wants in his life. If you would just stop being so self centered and stop trying to make him more like you and less like him , he'd probably be closer to you! ''
Ryan was infuriated. Self centered? Him?
'' You are nothing but an ungrateful woman! I've put in alot of effort to get you all your hearts desires. The finest cars , the best jewelry , latest brands ... everything! ''
Freya was crying. Crying because he only saw her as an object. A pet . All he had to do was to keep her well fed and dressed.
'' I want my son to take forth my legacy. I want him to go further than I ever did. ''
'' Have you ever asked him what he wanted? '' Freya was also starting to get angry. '' Don't you realize how you are driving him away? ''
'' Shut up! ''
'' I won't ! '' She yelled back at him. '' Can't you see that you're also driving me away? ''
Freya fell to the floor with a heavy thud. Ryan had hit her for the very first time. She held her cheek . She was numb for a moment.
'' You hit me? ''
