Ruth and Derek got into an elevator. Her apartment was on the 35th floor. They were the only two in the elevator.
" I'm famished!" Ruth held her grumbling tummy.
" I made you diner. The table's already set and the food is just begging for you to eat it. " He was leaning again the wall and staring into space. Ruth just watched him. He was acting more distant than he usually was. His voice lacked the warmth and playfulness it always had. She frowned when she saw a burn mark on his hand.
" You're hurt!" She grabbed his hand and blew over the scald. She didn't know anything else to do.
Derek watched her blow on his skin. She was worried. He gave a weak smile. He knew this was all he'd probably get. Her worry , concern , care...her touch...
" Do you like Leo?" She paused on his question. She looked up at him and frowned deeper.
" What do you mean by that?" She blinked and tried to calm her heart.
" Do you have feelings for him? " Derek cupped her small face in his huge hands.
' He must have overheard my stupid ranting ' She thought to herself. Well she did have feelings towards him. He was just interesting to her. She was just curious about him , right?
" Derek...I..."
Out of the blue , the elevator shook violently and came to an abrupt stop. Ruth was panicking. She was claustrophobic and horribly afraid of the dark. Luckily the lights were on.
" Are you alright?"
Ruth just nodded. She took out her phone and tried to call but the signal was bad. There were beads of sweat on her forehead.
" Calls can't get through! Were stuck ! How will anyone know we're in here? How will they find us!" She was hyperventilating.
" Calm down , just breathe. I'm here with you. " His green eyes were calming. His hands brought her close and kissed her. " Calm down."
Her heart followed his words and soon she was calm. His smile made her smile back.
" Why are you so handsome?" She chuckled.
" Stop flirting with me. I might just do something in this elevator. " He drew her in for a kiss but just then , the lights flickered and went off.

Ruth felt her bones melt and she fell to the ground. She scrambled through her purse for her phone and put her torch on. She put her hand over her chest and tried to calm down but she shook even more. A warm hand touched her shoulder and she yelped.
" Calm down" Derek laughed as he sat next to her.
" I don't like the dark! " She stuck to his arm as she stammered. " I...I...need to get out!"
" Let's talk. You'll feel better. " Derek held her hand. " Trust me. "
" I don't know what to say to her." Marylynne sat in the living room next to Alec. They watched Gwen standing by the window watching the stars. Marylynne looked at her living room. It was perfectly spotless and it was almost like the dead bodies that were lying there were all in her imagination.
" She doesn't need you to say anything. All she really needs is for you to not treat her differently now. " Alec knew Gwen didn't want to explain herself or justify her actions. She'd finally let this huge weight off her shoulders.
Marylynne watched Alec. He genuinely cared for her daughter even after finding out about her truth. " I'm glad she met you. "
" I'm glad I met her. "
Louis was on the couch watching everyone act normal. Bain was gone but he left two of his men to keep watch just incase they had any more unexpected guests.
" So , no one's saying anything?" He couldn't stay quiet any more. Everyone turned their attention to him.
" Is no one going to talk about the fact that my sister just murdered five people! " He ran his fingers through his hair. " And also...what the fuck does Bain do for a living? Should we even trust him anymore? "
" Don't talk about Bain like that! " Gwen was tired of all the judgement. She was tired. She didn't want to explain herself to anyone. In fact she just wanted to leave and go somewhere quiet.
" Gwen...I don't even know whether I can trust you right now. " Louis admitted.
" Instead of doubting her , you should be worried about her. All you're doing is thinking about yourself. " Alec had had enough. He knew it wasn't his place to interfere but he didn't like how Gwen was being treated. " Did you even stop to think what would have happened to your mom and you if she hadn't done what she did? You'd have died. "
The room was silent again. Alec took Gwen by the hand and they walked out the front door. The cold air pierced through her eyes and made the tears she had been trying to keep in pour out. She stared at the ground and tried to stop her tears. She didn't like crying. It made her feel helpless.
" After all this time , you still can't cry infront of me? " Alec cupped her face. " Im starting to doubt the power of my love. "
" Asshole. " Gwen laughed and cried at the same time." Is this the time to be joking? Your girlfriend's officially a murderer. "
"The prettiest murderer alive. " He kissed her and just like that... everything was better.
" Can you kiss me again? " Gwen just needed to be in his arms and to feel his lips on hers.
Her teary eyes glittered in the night like tiny stars. With his arm around her waist and his hand holding the back of her head , he brought her close to himself and bent his head to capture her lips. He kissed her tenderly. Her soft lips melted into his and he deepened the kiss.
Gwen felt safe in his embrace. It was like the rest of the world didn't exist whenever he was around her. His kiss spoke volumes. He would always be there for her. He would always want her.
" Better? " Alec hugged her and her petite body almost vanished into his broad chest. " If you still feel like crying , it would be my pleasure to kiss you back to happiness."
Gwen giggled and took in his scent. Je smelt nice. His cologne was a strong dominant scent. She wrapped her arms around his waist and sucked in all her nostrils could manage.
" I just wanna get away from here for a while. I want to take a stroll with my super sexy boyfriend and show him off. I want all the girls to get jealous. "
" I like what you just said. Could you repeat the part about me being super sexy. " They both laughed .
