Alec and Gwen slept in each other's arms. They were both exhausted from the previous night. Alec had never slept so peacefully before. He was still in slumber land when he felt Gwen wriggle out of his arms. He forced his eyes to open . He squinted, " Where are you going? " Alec glanced at his wrist watch. " It's 6:30 am . " Gwen kept walking. She was sleep walking like usual. Alec followed her. She moved to the vending machine and stopped.
" One bottle of milk , Mr.Mcrane...Thank ...thank you. " She mumbled. Alec just watched without saying a word. He wanted to laugh but he didn't want to wake her. Did she know that she was a sleep walker?
Gwen staggered to the corner and lied down on her back. She muttered some incomprehensible gibberish before she went quiet. Alec waited till she stopped moving. He carried her princess style . She was beautiful in every way. He wondered if he'd met her by accident or if they were fated.He carried her back to the sofa and watched her sleep.
Gwen opened her eyes . Her body ached in the most intimate places. She bit her lower lip when she recalled what they'd done . She could hear voices in the room. She gasped when she saw a group of people standing in the room taking photos. She tried to move but something held her down. It was Alec's arm. They were cuddling , he was shirtless , she was wearing his shirt! She quickly forced herself out of his embrace. Her eyes scanned his body. Thank God he had his pants on!
" Is that Alec Reinster? "The people continued taking pictures. Gwen pinched Alec so hard in the stomach that he woke up with a grunt.
" What the..? " Alec looked at Gwen. She looked angry and she was trying to hide her face. He turned only to see a group of people taking pictures. He was angry . Firstly because they'd woken Gwen and secondly they'd made her angry which made him more angry.
He stood up and placed his hands on his sides." Stop taking pictures." He said it in a calm tone put it sounded more like an order. The pictures stopped. " Who is the owner of the office we're currently in ? " Alec's blue eyes moved from face to face.
" I ...I am ." A bald man raised his meek voice.
" Come. " Alec's face had fury written all over it. The man slowly approached. Alec held his shoulder and squeezed. The man winced. " When you found us asleep in your office you could have woken us up ...right ? " Alec raised his brow.
". Right. " The man said between clenched teeth.
" But, you decided to call reporters here for what...fame? " Alec pressed harder .The man groaned.
" Forgive me, sir! " He was trembling.
" I'm sorry, but Im not good at forgiveness. " His tone changed. His voice was chilly and murderous." You have 10 minutes to stop any reporter from leaving here with those pictures. And if i see any of them anywhere , I'll make sure you and your entire family are left begging on the streets. "
Gwen watched the man stumble and quickly chase the reporters out. Alec turned to her and his face transformed back to sweet and stubborn.
" I didn't know you had a temper ? " she smiled. Alec's eyes wandered over her body. She was wearing his shirt but she was still very much revealed. Her legs were clearly out . Alec clenched his teeth. He was literally undressing her with his eyes . As if Gwen realized how exposed she was , she asked for clothes. Alec thought that was for the best too otherwise he didn't know what he might do. She was too gorgeous.
" Should I drop you home? " Alec put on the shirt the bald man had brought him. Gwen was staring at him . He was in a black T-shirt and grey sweatpants.He looked amazing even in ordinary clothes. " Gwen ? "
" Huh...?" She shook her head. " Yes ...yes you can drop me home."
Both were silent the entire drive. Gwen kept glancing at Alec from the corner of her eye. His eyes were fixed on the road but she could tell something was on his mind. She hoped it was the same thing that was on her mind. What now? Was it really just a one night thing or was there more to it ? Atleast , for her , it felt different...it was different. She got out of her trance went the car stopped. Were they at her house already ? They got out of his car.
They stood there face to face for a while . Neither said a thing. Alec waited for Gwen to speak but she didn't. His mind was in turmoil. His brain told him to leave but his heart kept him glued to the ground. He opened his mouth to speak but Gwen beat him to it.
" Last night was beautiful." she smiled. Like an instinct, his hand caressed her face . He shifted a strand of hair that was on her face. She closed her eyes and held his hand. He felt his heart melt.
" You were beautiful." Alec kissed her forehead. Gwen's heart skipped a beat. What did that kiss mean? Was it a goodbye kiss? He looked in to her eyes before turning his back to her. Gwen felt her eyes tear up. Her heart was hurting. Should she call him back?
" Ale-" Gwen felt someone tap her shoulder. She turned. It was Leo.
" Where were you last night ? Your mom was worried when you didn't come home." Gwen kept looking at Alec . He got into his car. Leo saw how upset she was. He looked at Alec suspiciously . Who was he ? " Gwen ! "
" Hmmm! " she turned to him. She looked troubled. She didn't want to see Alec drive away.
" Are you alright? Who is that guy ? " Leo lifted her chin. " You can tell me."
Alec had driven a short distance when he saw Leo lift Gwen's chin . He was standing too close to her! Alec's hands squeezed the steering wheel till his knuckles turned white. He didn't like it when any man other than himself touched her...hell they didn't even deserve to look at her! That's when he decided to do the stupidest thing he could think of .
Gwen knew Leo was authentically concerned about her. She put on a plastic smile.
" I'm fine. I don't really want to talk about. "
" Fine . Let's hug it out . " Leo enveloped her . Gwen felt a tear escape her eye. She didn't know why she was behaving like this. She'd just met the guy !
Leo loved hugging her. It was the best time in his day. He always looked forward to holding her. He was still in bliss when a strong force snatched Gwen out of his embrace.
" Alec ? !" Gwen was still processing when his lips found hers. Her soul was up in flames as pressed her body against his . Gwen's eyes shot open.
Leo's mind exploded . His mouth made an 'O'.
" Wait a minute, who the hell are you ? " Leo managed to ask.
Gwen was stiff. Her mind was numb. What just happened? Alec turned to Leo. He had a smirk on his face.
" Sorry , we haven't been properly introduced. " He moved two steps closer and shot a jealous boyfriend glare. " I'm Alec Reinster, Gwendoline's boyfriend. "
"..." Leo nearly collapsed.
Gwen choked on her own saliva. His words echoed in her ears . ' Gwendoline's boyfriend.'
