I went straight to my mom’s house after my argument with Lauren at the last house we checked out. But before I got on the road, I took some time to chill out, not wanting to drive in an upset state. Lauren was such a hard person to figure out sometimes. I couldn’t understand why she was so adamant about not liking the houses that we had visited.
They all looked wonderful to me, and I thought they would be a perfect fit for us. But Lauren didn’t think so. And when I accused her of just being grouchy because of the pregnancy, she really went off on me.
Maybe that had been the wrong thing to say, but it was too late to take it back. Now, the good place that we had been in for the last few weeks was no longer a good place. We had been doing that a lot lately–going from a good place to a bad place and back and forth again.
