*Lucas*
I was dead serious. I wanted to move in with Lauren. I wanted to sleep with her every night and wake up with her every morning. It was time to make the move, once and for all. What had intentionally been a joking remark had suddenly grown into a concrete determination to make this happen.
“Are you serious?” she asked me.
“Yes. I am. Let’s live together, Lauren. Let me move in here with you. We spend so much time together now, anyway. I can save the trouble of coming here all the time, or you coming to my place. We love each other and should be together as much as possible. Our living together will solve that issue, once and for all. So, what do you think? You want to do it?”
She stared at me in shock. She wasn’t expecting to hear this proposal this evening, in the same way that I hadn’t been expecting to bring it up. But here we were. No returning across the bridge to where we had been before. “I don’t know about this, Lucas. Don’t you think it’s a bit too soon?”
