I had the feeling that everything was now okay with Lauren. She seemed to be getting in the groove of her new job, which she had told me was the cause of her recent stress, and she was smiling a lot more around me. What her father said to her last night at our celebration lifted her spirits. His acceptance of her was so important, both personally and professionally.
The billionaire and his family were leaving here in two days. So far, everything was going wonderfully, and that helped Lauren’s positive mood even more. One of her biggest fears was that something would go wrong during their stay. That had yet to happen.
Though I was happy that they had stayed here, I was ready for a break. Lauren and I had exhausted ourselves working to make sure everything ran smoothly for them. I’d gone out on many boat tours with them, and they had enjoyed every second.
