*Lauren*
My father asked me to meet with him in his office. I walked over to the main building from my bungalow, wondering what he wanted to talk to me about. I figured that it had to be resort-business related since the meeting was in his office rather than elsewhere. Usually, if it were going to be a more personal conversation between us, he would have done it in a less business-like setting, like his place or mine, or out to lunch or dinner.
My dad liked to keep his business and personal matters separate like that. He said it made life much simpler for him. With someone with so much on his plate in running the resort, I understood how he wanted to simplify his life as much as he could.
How much so I was about to discover.
We hugged each other once I had entered his office. “Thanks for coming to meet with me, Lauren.”
“Anytime. What can I do for you?”
