An awkward silence filled the place while the woman fixed her intense gaze on Olivia, who looked lost in thoughts.
"Go ahead ma'am. Are you confused on which one to pick?" The woman questioned Olivia, jerking her back to reality, and she turned to face her.
"Huh?" Olivia whispered and lowered her gaze. "Sorry, I have no idea where to start from. They look stunning and expensive." Olivia spoke and the woman chuckled.
"Come on, let me help you out then." The woman uttered with a light smile and tilted her head to the opposite direction while Olivia followed her behind.
Olivia decided to shrug off all the thoughts trying to drift into her head. But the woman's words kept ringing inside her head. Is she really the first lady Aiden brought there?
Maybe the woman wasn't around the day he brought Kayla, or Kayla had shopped for the dress herself-Olivia mumbled within her and took a deep breath.
Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of an attractive strapless sheer dress, and she moved closer and held it, but the price tag made her mouth drop open.
Instantly, Aiden walked into the place, and the sound of his shoe clacking on the floor made Olivia and the woman turn to face the direction.
"Have you gotten what you want?" Aiden asked Olivia, and she paused for a second before answering.
"I did, but it is expensive, maybe I will have to check the rest of the dress first." Olivia replied in a low cadence, while the woman kept glancing between them.
"Which dress is it? Let me see." Aiden declared, and she took hold of the dress and moved closer to him. Her heart raced for no reason as she stood so close to Aiden while the smell of his perfume hit her nose.
Olivia couldn't explain the reason she was always nervous around him.
Aiden looked at the dress for a minute, his hazel eyes doing more of the talking while his face held a blank expression.
"Not bad. Max!" He called and Max, who was standing by the door, rushed inside. "The price tag says the dress is $2,460, send the money right away, we have gotten what we need for the wedding. Right Olivia?" Aiden added and she nodded.
"But…isn't it expensive? We can check out others with a lesser price." Olivia voiced out. She had no idea Aiden wasn't even going to notice something was missing in his account.
He shook his head without saying a word and turned to leave but immediately, he halted on his track.
"I need to leave right now. Do whatever you need to do, my driver will be waiting outside to take you home." Aiden said coldly and moved out while Max followed him behind.
"Thank you sir for patronizing us once again, we hope to see you soon." The woman yelled behind him.
Olivia took a deep breath while biting her bottom lip. Why was Aiden behaving awkwardly? He also wanted this wedding, but he was acting too cold to her, and now he was going to leave without her?
"Why don't you try out your dress, huh?" The woman muttered, and Olivia agreed.
Aiden had left the mall and headed straight to one of his casinos. He was supposed to meet someone there in the evening, but he had left earlier.
As Max drove him to the Casino, his head was also filled with so many questions buzzing in. He cleared his throat a little and peeped at Aiden through the mirror, who was pressing his phone.
"Boss!" Max called calmly to get his attention, and Aiden raised his head.
"Go on." Aiden voiced out in a deep, husky tone.
"I really don't want to cross the line, but I have been curious-"
"Just go straight to the point, Max." Aiden interrupted and fixed his eyes in Max's direction.
"Okay. Are you really getting married? I thought you never wanted that, like to have a family." Max inquired curiously, and Aiden stared at the window for some seconds.
"Yeah, I'm truly getting married and that's all you need to know for now." Aiden added, and none of them said a word after that.
Olivia, on the other hand, had just stepped out of the mall while the woman had walked her out. Olivia roamed her eyes around and suddenly a man dressed in a black suit moved to her, and she felt he was one of Aiden's men.
"Ma'am, the boss asked me to take you home when you're done." The man uttered.
"And who are you? His driver?" Olivia asked, to be sure, and he nodded.
"I'm Ben. Shall we?" He whispered and took hold of the bag in her hand. Olivia turned swiftly and bid the woman goodbye before moving towards the black car.
The ride home was in total silence, and she felt the urge to ask Ben where Aiden had gone to, but she kept her mouth shut.
Aiden had told Ben of her address, so there was no need for her to remind him.
The moment he drove into her compound, Olivia hopped out of the car before he could step out and opened the door for her.
"Have a great evening," Ben uttered and bowed slightly, while she felt a bit uneasy with the way he was addressing her.
He drove out of the compound, and she headed for the door. Then she began to hear whispers echoing from the sitting room. It sounded like an argument, and she could vividly hear her mom's voice.
She turned the handle quickly and pushed the door. The moment Olivia walked in, she met her parents standing close to each other, but there was a tense atmosphere that filled the room.
"What's going on here?" Olivia inquired and they turned to look at her.
"Olivia!" Jane called with a surprise tone and moved away from Griffin. Jane have been restless, she wanted to inform Olivia that the man she was getting married to is the boss of the Buffalo Arm family, but Griffin had kicked against it.
He was afraid that Olivia might change her mind. "What is going on here?" She questioned with a fazed look written on her face.
"Oh, nothing. Sweetheart. Your mother and I were just discussing the wedding." Griffin chipped in and smiled.
Jane nodded and placed her hands around Olivia's shoulders while she glanced between them.
"Come on dear. Let's go to your room, so we can talk about how your day went." Jane added with a light smile, and Olivia followed her behind.
