"Hmmm?" he glanced at her. "You can say that."
A wry smile appeared on Diane's face. "I hear she's quite beautiful."
"Then you heard wrong."
Diane looked at him in surprise before internally sighing in relief.
She heard from a lot of people how beautiful Ray's new partner was and felt that she could be a threat, but after hearing Ray just now it seemed to not be the case and they were just going around exaggerating it and spreading rumors, but Ray's next words dumbfounded her.
"The word 'quite' isn't suitable at all. You can say she's unbelievably beautiful. On the same level as Fiona."
The last part he said totally shocked her but what surprised her more was that Ray was praising her beauty, something he doesn't usually do.
As for Ray, he was just trying to get her to give up but seeing the determined expression on her face after the shock it seemed to have backfired.
