"That book... I reserved it yesterday" Adelaide said, glaring at her.
"Well, I touched this book first, and the employee said that this book is not reserved, so who are you to say that you own this book completely?" Zeianna keep her cool by asking her back.
"And who do you think you are talking to—"
"Good morning my love" a hidden disgust expression was formed on Zeianna's face when Ylium suddenly break the tension. "oh, what are you girls are fighting about?"
She glared at the white diamond haired lady. "she wants this book so badly but she didn't reserved it"
Adelaide spoke. "I reserved it yesterday, why won't you believe me?"
"Believe you?" Zeianna said, getting the book. "then ask the worker"
She paid the book, leaving Adelaide in a tantrum. "love, did you reserved it yesterday?" she asked the crown prince.
Zeianna's eyes widen. Shocked but not surprised.
She also knew this that he was cheating behind her back, and now, she's going to find a way to break it.
'I can't stop imagining her writhing beneath me, bearing my children, and being a mother to them— wait, it was supposed to be Adelaide, why the image is her—'
"Your grace" a butler called him. He grunted as he opened his eyes after sentiments about the lady that he saw in his dreams.
"What time is it?" he asked. "eleven o'clock in the morning"
Damn.
He stood up and told the butler to call his personal maid to draw him a bath.
As he got out of his room, he go down, only to see the patriarch of De Claro family in the receiving room, and Adelaide.
Adelaide has a lonely emotions painted on her face. Her fingers intertwining with each other, as her father spoked up.
"Your grace, my daughter has something to say regarding to your engagement" he said.
'Engagement? Why is it about the engagement? Is this the reason why she's so forlorn these days?'
"I..." she started. She looked at his eyes, afraid of what he can do.
"I want to break this" his eyes blackened at what she said.
Her eyes are looking at random directions, paranoid.
"Why?" the duke said, his eyes staring at the floor, fist clenched as he sat down on the couch, he wants to cry but his tears won't fall because of his title that affects his emotions.
"I'm sorry, I... I fell out of love, and I love someone—"
"Why you didn't say thay earlier, why did you gave me hope that you were still happy with me?" he said, his voice is in a verge of crying.
"I'm sorry" she just said. "I hope you're happy with him—" he almost stood up from the couch when a loud voice starts to speak.
"Of all the girls who can have a relationship with my fiance, why it was supposed to be you!" a loud voice from the manor is heard.
And there is Zeianna, looking so angrily at the two.
"I thought you were just making a joke earlier that we fought about the book, but you were not"
"You are really the crown prince of Rufino empire's whore!" she screamed, her maid stepped backwards.
"How dare you to lay a hand to my fiance?" she walked forward and slapped her.
"Hey! Who are you just to lay a hand on her—" Victorino also ended up being slapped.
Adelaide looked at the person who slapped her. It was the person who she saw at the bookstore!
"Why him?" she asked. Adelaide didn't know what to do.
Zeianna almost slapped her again but Victorino stopped her.
"Go home, and please, bury our memories together" he said to the lady of De Claro. He got out together with Zeianna.
"Just, why did you do that, Zeianna Yves Emery—"
"It's lady Zeianna Yves Emery for your information, duke Victorino Ysis Edwards"
"I don't care if I don't want to call you on your honorary name! But why did you have to go to extremes?!" he shouted, looking at her with utter disgust.
"Go to extremes? I am protecting my lover!"
"I am also protecting my lover— my ex lover!" he gritted his teeth while staring at her, stoic.
"Oh my" she chuckled a little, which angers him more. "ex lover you say"
"So the reason she's here is because she wants to break off the engagement?" she said.
"Oh my, how dare your lover did this to my fiance" Zeianna said with pity.
As she walks forward, she whispered something to the duke.
"Your lover shall suffer for committing cheating, as well as to the crown prince"
Her hands hugging him, as the wind blows through the open windows, she leaned. At first he thinks that she's going to kiss him, but it was way different.
"Be my ally, I'll put the crown prince down for him crimes, and you will make the De Claro family fall to their demise"
"You loath the marquees Jason of De Claro family because they were responsible to your parents death, right? And you used Adelaide to bring them down"
"You and me— we have the same goal; bring them down and see them suffer"
Victorino's eyes widen. She stepped down from hugging him.
"I'll give you two days to think, your grace" she says, and walked away from him.
Victorino looked at her while she walked out from his office.
He sighed. Things must be decided properly and not so rashly.
"You love Adelaide and never used her"
"You love Adelaide and never used her"
"You love Adelaide and never used her"
"Your grace" a butler came in. Victorino is walking back and forth and saying the same phrase over and over again.
He would never believe Zeianna, and he will never wish to be allied with her.
"You love Adelaide and never used her"
"You love Adelaide and never used her"
"Your grace?"
"You love Adelaide and never used her"
"You love Adelaide and never used her"
"Your gra—"
"What do you want?!" he hissed, making his butler stunned in their position.
"A letter was sent for you" he said, presenting the letter sealed with crimson red wax.
He opened it. His blood boils when he saw the sender, he told the butler to get out.
'Dear Duke Victorino;
Thank you for the hospitality for letting me stay at your mansion, but it is time for a farewell. I hope you and your sister will be in safety.
But don't forget about the deal to be my partner in everything. You'll still have one day for that. Don't forget to send a letter of your decision.
Still, I'm waiting for that. But please don't let me have anger on you. You don't want your family name to be stained until it became a rust, right?
Don't worry, I'll send you a letter again if you agreed on the partnership.
Yours truly;
Lady Zeianna Yves Emery'
As he saw the letter, he crumpled it. If the lady doesn't stop persuaded him, he'll never think twice to kill her.
