Chapter 20
"Where in the world is he? Have I offended him? I hope he isn't still upset about the last time. Is there something on my face? Doesn't he find me interesting anymore?", Angela scrolled through her mind with thoughts of unanswered questions of Dmitiri. She hasn't seen him in a while and it scared her and her insecurities. Going to school and surviving a day was annoying enough as it is; especially when she comes in contact with Leo but Dmitiri has always been different.
"Where can I find him?, where would he be?", she thought to herself. She did try their usual rock and forest to see if he around there to no avail. Now she was scared. He wasn't the type to disappear or not giving her a call or a message of his whereabouts.
"I hope nothing happened to him. He's going to be okay right. I really don't know what to do. Perhaps I should call or meet his…", she stood there in fidgety asking Debbie.
"Relax darling. He's probably out and he would call you back soon". " I know but he wouldn't leave without leaving a message about his whereabouts at the very least. He has never done that. I hope I did nothing wrong. I didn't, right?". Her curiosity and worry wasn't a joke. Debbie knew she couldn't calm her down. But she was happy her dear friend wasn't worried or concerned about someone else asides Leo whilst seeing the butterflies under her eyes. But she knew her friend better than she knew herself.
If she was asked to pick someone between Leo and Dmitri, she would pick the person she loves the most, not the person who makes her feel better the most.
"Come baby, sit with me and dial his number again. You're probably scared for nothing. I know he's fine. I believe he's fine. Those should be your words exactly not walking back and forth. Calm down", Debbie said.
"Okay, okay. I'll be calm. I'm calm". "Take a deep breath. Do it three times. Drink some water and call him again". Debbie picked the phone and dialed the number herself.
"Hi its Dmitiri, I can't get to you now, leave a message after the beep", the voice spoke this time angering Angela. "I'm not going to call him again. He's fine, right? He's fine. When he's able, he'd reach out to me. I know it. I have to get to class Debbie. Let's meet up later", Angela said still scared. Debbie could see it in her body. Her hands and legs were still shaking.
"Before you go, I want to ask you something and I want you to be honest with me Angie." I have always been honest with you Debbie. You know you can ask me anything", Angela says. She wasn't good at lying and Debbie knew everything about her so whatever she wanted to ask, she would have no reason to lie about it.
"Are you in love with Dmitiri, Angie. I know you. The only person that makes you feel like this is Leo. Your body shakes and your mind is on Dmitiri. What really happened last night at the party Angie? Is he your mate?"The questions caught Angela off-guard.
"Well, the reason I'm shaking is because I haven't seen him in a while and that worries me. I don't…". She stops and looks at Debbie's face. Debbie was quite smart and she would have figured it what happened eventually even if Angela didn't tell her. Her face alone gave a single statement "Really". Debbie usually made that face when she wanted to be given an explanation. And you had to give it.
"I don't know Deb. I mean Dmitri makes me feel like a human being. He treats me nice and he spends quality time with me. He makes me laugh and I care about him and he cares about me too". "But.", Debbie knew and it sounded like there was a but coming. "But Leo makes me go crazy. He does things that upsets me and I hate him for it. Dimitri makes me feel that way too and…I don't know. Logically speaking, having Dmitri as a mate would be cool. And then there is Leo. I'm really lost Deb", Angela stated it out clearly.
"Yesterday, Dmitiri tried to kiss me and I freaked out. I ran home immediately. I don't know why I did that". It was obvious that Angela loved the two of them. Debbie could see that. On one point was Dmitri, the handsome prince who did everything right and cared about her deeply, on the other hand was bully Leo, one that's always making her life miserable. "You'll be fine. We are going to figure it out together. Who you love more. I'm here anytime. But first, we have to get to class. Let's talk at the cafeteria okay". "Okay".
After classes, Angela and Debbie sat gently at the cafeteria to have their lunch. The discussion was not going to end with the conversation they had earlier. Debbie wanted to hear the whole thing. Angela's words wasn't enough. She felt like there was something missing.
"Hello Angela", Leo comes around putting his foot kicing their food off the table not minding if some of the juice and dishes were on their cloth.
"Do you always have to act like a child? When are you going to grow up Leo?", Debbie asks, seriously pissed at the shit Leo always pulled with Angela. "My business isn't with you. It's with your friend. So why don't you run along and no one has to get hurt. I really will not repeat myself", Leo said, directing his gaze at Debbie with his eyes turning red and his head gradually changing into his wolf form.
"Debbie, please leave. I'll see you later". "You can't keep doing this Angela. He's going to kill you one day and I…", Debbie said. "Deb, look at me", Angela said with Debbie reluctantly looking at her. Angela's face gave a "I'll be fine, don't worry about me. He can only hurt me so long" face. Debbie understood what the face meant immediately. She didn't like it but she understood it.
"Fine. Fine. I'm leaving.", Debbie said, giving her little wolf look at Leo. "Yeah run along Debbie", Leo says. Debbie waits for a second. "She's never going to be yours Leo. No matter what you do. The sooner you accept that fact, the better", Debbie says this and walks away."What did you say bitch?", Leo says ready to attack Debbie but Angela holds his hand and nods her head for him to stop.
"This is all your fault. Follow me", Leo says he moves towards the door. He notices Angela isn't following him. "Why are you still sitting down there?". "I'm not moving from here Leo."Angela says. She knew she wasn't as strong as Leo in any way but she knew him well. His ego is the size of Texas. He loved it when his orders were being obeyed and when it wasn't, he threw a fit.
Leo walks back to her gently and whispers; "If you don't get up, I'll tell everyone that you came over my house to look for me. And I'll make it so crazy and believable that everyone would think you are crazily in love with me and you know what that means. Your innocent and pathetic reputation drops and hour name would be dragged through the mud. I'll also make it so your perfect grade drops and you don't graduate high school", Leo threatens Angela directly.
She looks at him with anger and a little tear comes out of her eyes. If looks and thoughts could kill at that moment, he would be long dead but there was nothing she could do at that moment. Leo was going to destroy her life, or what was left of it. He had destroyed her mental, physical self countless times. What more damage could he do? At the very least, he couldn't destroy her grades and now he wanted to take that too, she was not having it.
He had previously threatened her friends and that was out of it. She sat still on her chair, holding her shirt and putting her head down in shame. She hated being weak and distraught all the time whenever Leo was around. "Are you going to cry again? I really couldn't care less. Let's go, right now. I really don't have time for this", Leo says, already pissed off beyond reason. He hated being made to wait especially if it was Angela.
She sat still yet again, being stubborn about getting up almost as if her butt was glued to the chair. At this point, Leo was beyond pissed. His claws came out of his hands, his eyes changed to red and his ears.
"Get up!!!!!!!", Leo screamed with his human and wolf voice. Angela was terrified and almost got up but her cloth was stuck to the chair. "If I say get up one more time, you're going to get seriously hurt and I'll make sure of it".
She says nothing, trying to disconnect her cloth from the chair.
Leo furiously walks towards her with his claws and digs them into her. She screams in pain. The pain made him feel happy. Just like a predator slowly hurting its prey before it gets killed. But it wasn't enough for him, he tries to hit her again with his claws.
"That's enough mate", Dmitri shows up, fully holding Leo's hands, claws and grip. Leo was shocked. No one was strong enough to hold his grip let alone his claws. Dmitiri holds his hands and pushes him away.
"Was he the one who did this to you?", Dmitri asked Angela but she says nothing. "I'll be right back", he responded. From the growl he created from his turning, it made the entire cafeteria shake.
There is always a stage in some werewolves,, a stage where a werewolf goes beyond anger and breaks. There are different versions of views of it. It is called the "moon howl". No one could stop a werewolf at that point in time. But the most powerful moon howl of all changed things. It was the first generation of werewolves to have ever had such anger. Many wolves tried to summon the most powerful moon howl to no avail.
The anger was said to consume a werewolf so much that he wouldn't be aware of his actions.Not even Leo's Dad or him could summon the anger most powerful one no matter how upset they were. It is said that before the anger comes up, the mood changes, the weather changes, a wolf is twice its size and was ten times faster than the normal speed of a werewolf.
Dmitri couldn't hold it in anymore. He unconsciously unlocked the moon howl, the normal stage of a moon howl then gradually moved to the most powerful stage
Before Leo knew what was going on, Dmitri punched him, slashed him and beat him again. Leo was strong too and tried to hold his own but wasn't even close when it came to the night howl. Dmitiri swept him off his feet and hit him over and over again, simultaneously.
Angela didn't know what to think. She didn't know what was going on anymore. She couldn't recognize Dmitri.
Seeing the disaster that ensued, the principal ordered the entire school be evacuated immediately. The school was gradually destruction due to the power of the night howl.
"I'm going to make sure you never touch her again". Dmitri said, still somewhat conscious of his actions. His raised his arms up so high and increased his claws. Angela seeing the size of his claws shouted at him to stop but he didn't hear.
He was going to kill Leo if she didn't do something immediately.
With the last strength she had due to the claws from Leo earlier, she ran and touched Dmitiri. "Don't kill him, please. Let's just leave. Let's leave here". Hearing Angela's words, Dmitiri calmed down and reduced his werewolf form, growled at almost passed out Leo, takes Angela and leaves the school.
Leo witnessing the entire thing, passed out with image of Dmitiri leaving with Angela as a last memory.
