The following day, the whole kingdom of Suma woke up to a lively morning.
It hasn't rained that much that year but surprisingly, their foods yielded more than even when there was frequent rainfall.
Kissa and the whole of the palace were already up very early because it was the tradition and no one would want to break it.
Kissa knew she would be doing most of the work today since Zahra is someone who doesn't like stressing herself and who knows the concubine that would follow her.
Asim would be out to monitor the new pyramid they have been building for the past few weeks.
After everyone had breakfast, the servants started loading the carriages with different gifts. Kissa had made sure Asim would make provisions for the farmers and the poor people this time around.
After what she saw in the village the day she sneaked out, she knew the poor people were suffering badly.
Kissa soon walked out of her quarters, dressed in a simple white dress with golden Usek and her hair was hid behind her golden veil.
Asim and Zahra also arrived at the carriages at the time Kissa arrived.
"Layla would be coming with you two today, along with Nubia because she hasn't gotten to know the outside world of Suma since she got here." Asim said and didn't wait for a reply before he got into his carriage and his men carried him towards the main gates.
The four ladies looked at each other before they got into their own carriages and were also carried out of the palace.
Kissa looked out through the transparent curtains at the roadside and they went down into the village.
The sun was high up already and the day was beautiful with the sky blue and clear.
Everyone in the village was already expecting them to arrive in the village and as soon as they saw Asim's carriage, they started cheering.
They already made a large sitting platform for them to stay while Asim made his announcements.
Despite the rumours heard about Kissa, all of them were happy she was there because they knew it meant blessings to them.
Asim was taken to the area where he would be giving his speech. "Good morning great people of Suma. As you all know, it is our week of harvesting and it is one of the most important and fun week of the whole year."
Everyone cheered out loud. "Lady Kissa here would be giving the gifts she brought for your hard work this year."
The farmers and other people cheered more when they heard the news.
"I hereby declare this year's harvest week open." Asim waved his scepter and the villagers cheered as they started reducing in numbers.
"Don't try anything funny, Kissa. Layla dear." Asim took her hands and she faked a blush. "Please look after her, you're the one I trust here."
Nubia, who heard that, fumed in anger as she stepped into her carriage to sit till they left for their next location.
"Yes my Lord." Layla bowed. "I won't disappoint you."
Asim kissed her hands before he left with his men to the pyramid that he wanted to see.
"Don't get too comfortable with Asim Layla." Nubia said loud enough for her to hear as she walked past her carriage.
"And what will you do if I did get comfortable with him?" Layla raised her brows questioningly. "Beat me? You clearly can't do that."
Layla walked away and Nubia boiled more. She was so rude and arrogant.
Kissa on the other hand didn't get into her carriage anymore. She decided to use her feet as they walked towards the main river in the village.
Kissa was surprised to see this part of the kingdom. The houses were much more beautiful than the part she went to when she sneaked out of the palace the other day.
Like the other houses, they were made out of mud and built in small sizes with flat roofs.
"The muds are made mostly from sun-dried mud from the Nile river." Sabola explained as they walked down the street.
Women and female children were coming out of the houses when they saw Kissa heading towards the river.
Some bowed as they saw her, and other children cheered.
"Wow, she looks even more beautiful."
"Mother, can I go see her later?"
"No way."
They soon got to the main river where females were already around.
The water was channeled from the River Nile through the concreted large space made for it.
They called it the main river in the village because the Nile river itself was located outside the village.
Although the water was only used for farming and rituals for the females during the harvest week, it was a pretty important river which everyone believes has magical properties so priests and sorceresses blesses the water every harvest week.
Kissa pulled off her sandals and veil then handed it to Sabola. She pulled her gown up to reach her thighs before stepping slowly into the water.
The water wasn't too warm, neither was it too cold, and it felt refreshing. Despite reaching just her thigh level, the water was a lot and the river was about thirty meters wide.
Kissa clasped her hands together and closed her eyes to bless the water.
The movement of the water surprisingly slowed down and it became clearer than it was before, and they could see the bottom of the water.
They gasped as the water looked even clearer and the eye of Horus and eye of Ra around Kissa's eyes started shining.
"And in the years to come, you will be blessed but destiny is yet to be decided."
