Chereads / Reincarnated as the Original Werewolf / Chapter 5 - Reincarnated in a Fortunate World

Chapter 5 - Reincarnated in a Fortunate World

Mathias looks around with a dubious feeling as he finds that something is weird.

Although he was inside a forest the same as he was before, this one is a completely different one. Not only do the trees surrounding him are completely different, but the tree trunks have some weird glowing blue spots on them.

It makes the dark night a little bit bright, but still, Mathias was really confused.

"Does the Dark Sumac Forest even have these kinds of trees? It seems like these trees are more than just alive", Mathias mutters to himself, finding that a tree having this kind of glowing feature to be pretty weird in his opinion.

But his attention soon shifted when a thick stench of blood penetrated his nose.

Looking at the surrounding he finds that he was not only surrounded by the glowing magical trees but there are also corpses scattered everywhere, their intestines all the way to their detached limbs can be seen all around the place as the killer doesn't even have the courtesy in cleaning the place up.

"Ahh!", Mathias exclaimed as he crawled back before hitting a tree behind him.

Even though this kind of scene is not a new scene for him as there are many people that died in front of him from the lethal claws of the Supernatural races, Mathias still finds this pretty surprising to see. But it was not the scenery of dead corpses and blood that draws this kind of reaction from him.

Grabbing his head with his hands, Mathias finds that his head is still intact.

Although he can see and think clearly right now he was too surprised and need to check his head, his hands then traveled down and checks his chest to find that there were no bloodied holes. Everything seems to be normal, but it feels very real to him.

"D-Didn't I died because of that Werewolf?!", Mathias exclaimed inwardly.

Painful sensations that dawned on his body as his chest got stabbed by the Werewolf's claws are still etched inside his mind, his breathing even becoming rougher by the second just from remembering the horrifying scene when he thought he died.

But it doesn't make sense if he died then and still be alive now in this unfamiliar place.

Mathias was about to look further into what was going on before suddenly a wave of memory overflowed his entire mind, and this makes him frown and crouch while holding his head which was invaded by a high-pitched ringing sound.

It feels like an entire person's memory is being forced into his brain and it's quite a painful process.

When the memory flashing inside his mind finally ended, Mathias raises his gaze while panting heavily. Although a huge chunk of his stamina got zapped away, his eyes now contain realization mixed with shock.

Now that the memory of a different person has merged with his mind, Mathias realized something.

One of the important things that he realized was the fact that he was not in his world anymore and for some reason reincarnated into the body of a young man that has the same first name as his, living in a world where Supernatural races also dominated the entire world like his home world.

Mathias sat on the ground and leans on a tree while being accompanied by the sound of insects.

Although he was reincarnated into another person's body inside a world that is very similar to his homeworld, he can't help but shed a tear while covering his mouth, 'If I'm really dead, then that means what happened to me and my sister is definitely real...', Mathias thought gloomily.

With the realization that he's dead, then his sister should also be dead.

Even though he got a chance and reincarnated into this body, his sister might not also gain this opportunity. Something such as reincarnation should only be possible by the hands of a God, and his sister has never believed in God ever since the Supernatural races suppressed humanity.

Maybe due to the fact that he clings to God that he was given this luck or chance.

Sobbing lightly under the shady tall glowing trees in the middle of the night, Mathias lets out the grief inside of him from the death of his sister. It was more to try to accept that his sister is gone compared to the shock he was feeling before.

After a moment of grieving, Mathias rubs his face roughly before looking at the surrounding.

Despite the huge doubt inside of him, surviving in a similar world without his sister, he remembered that his sister said to him that he need to try and survive. In a sense, this is his second chance in honoring his sister's last words.

From the moment he got reincarnated here, his life is not only his anymore.

Now that he finds the will to survive in this dark world alone, Mathias inspects his surrounding and find a couple of things aside from the blood and corpses. He finds a huge vessel, a glowing blue orb, and a weird engraving on the ground.

Upon looking at this, Mathias tries to decipher the foreign memories inside his mind.

Since he now knows he's in a completely different reality, he decided to try to find the memory of how he ended up here amongst the blood and corpses. On top of that, these items that were scattered here give him a bad feeling.

But as he was dwelling in the foreign memory, he finds something unbelievable.

"What? How is this fair...", Mathias mutters in absolute shock.

Although he still doesn't find the memory about how he ended up here, he stumbles across something that he finds unbelievable that left him speechless. It was something that he doesn't expect, but the humans in this world are not helpless as the humans from his home world.

Some of them have an ability that only lives in legends, they can use magic!

Even though there was not much contained inside this foreign memory regarding humans that can use magic, he knows that they are simply called Mages in this world. The previous owner of this body was not living near these Mages, but he met a couple of them in his lifetime.

Mathias's expression suddenly darkened upon knowing this, he even gritted his teeth in anger.

Upon realizing this fact Mathias stands up abruptly with both of his fists clenched strongly, he then turns around to face the huge spotted tree trunk before pulling back his arm, "How in the world is this fair for us!!"

Bam!

Venting the anger inside of him, Mathias punched the tree trunk without holding back.

Not feeling that one punch is enough, he started to punch the tree trunk repeatedly, disregarding the pain in his knuckles as they started to get swollen. What angers him was the fact that this world is grace by those kinds of humans while his world doesn't.

From his perspective, this is very unfair to his world.

On top of that he also finds inside the foreign memory that this world has a couple of human kingdoms that are still standing strong against the Supernatural races, they are able to protect the majority of humans under their tall walls.

But knowing this makes Mathias angrier, he kept punching the tree trunk relentlessly.

Under the barrage of punches, the skin on his knuckles started to break, and blood slowly oozes out but Mathias ignored the pain as he remembered the people from his world moving from place to place trying to survive for another day.

Death almost comes each day as people died from starvation, dehydration, or simply being killed.

Bam!

Mathias was finally able to calm down after the last powerful punch that landed solidly on the hard tree trunk, he then retracts back his fists and saw the blood covering both of his fists completely. It was then that he realized he was completely naked.

Looking around the place, he finds a corpse that is still intact.

It probably died from having its neck broken from the looks of it, there's no blood staining the black robes that the corpse wore. Without much thought, Mathias decided to take the black robes off before wearing them.

When he wore the black robes, he can't help but sigh, "It's very loose, this body is so frail..."

"My body is so frail...", he added, correcting himself.

Now that he was the owner of this body then this body was his body, and he needed to leave with that. Out of everything he never would've thought that the feeling of not knowing his own face is unsettling, there's no mirror here or any water to see his own face.

But knowing that he needs to know more about his new self, Mathias refocuses himself.

Just as he was about to try and decipher what happened here, his eyes suddenly landed on a necklace wrapping around his neck. Pulling the pendant to take a closer look, Mathias's eyes widened as he recognized this necklace.

It was worn by his father before his sister started wearing it after his father's death.

Mathias touches the steel star-shaped pendant gently, his eyes are filled with dear love remembering what this necklace stands for. His father got it from a friend, and this star-shaped pendant means rising hope.

When it was worn by his sister, she becomes the rising hope of their little family.

But now this necklace somehow finds its way to his neck, and this makes Mathias know that this is a sign that he needs to do everything he can to survive in this world. Even though he's scared greatly by the future, he just needs to go through it.

At least for the sake of his family's dream, him watching the world change for the better.

Shaking his head and letting go of the necklace, Mathias started searching for the answer in the foreign memory. It doesn't take long for him to find that the previous owner of this body is an orphan, living in this world with his little sister. Life is hard for him and his sister, and out of sheer desperation, the previous owner of this body sold himself to a person belonging to an unknown organization.

It was done in exchange for money for his sister to come by, very amiable in Mathias's opinion.

These items that are scattered here should be the items used by the organization to do some kind of ritual, the foreign memory went black right when the chains wrapped around his limbs and the engraving on the ground lit up.

Without even knowing what happen exactly, Mathias already knows that something went terribly.

Mathias didn't think much and went over to the vessel that is nearer to him, it was toppled over so he tries to lift it up but suddenly got hit by a horrifying stench that is more disgusting than anything that he has ever smelled in his life.

Looking at the inside of the vessel, there are red stains all over, "Is it filled with blood...?"

"But even the blood from the corpses are not thing sharp, just what kind of blood are they using? More importantly, what kind of ritual are they trying to do to me to use such a bizarre method?", Mathias mutters silently while covering his nose.

It even made him want to vomit a couple of times, and he decided to leave the vessel.

Going to the glowing blue orb on the other side of the magic engraving, Mathias kneel down before he picks up the orb and inspected it. Even though he's new to this kind of thing, it seems this orb contains some magic judging from the dancing energy inside it.

Without thinking much he puts the orb inside his pocket before straightening his back.

Looking up to the sky that is decorated beautifully by the bright full moon, Mathias takes a deep breath and closes his eyes as he feels the moonlight is very comforting. Opening his eyes, he then glanced to the side, "Okay, maybe I'll start by meeting this sister of mine, Bella is her name..."

Mathias nodded his head as he fixed his mind on meeting Bella before he carefully left the place.

Unknown to him the bright full moon sparkled brightly sending a stream of white lines that descend faster than the eyes can see, and it take a sharp turn before hitting Mathias right on the back of his head and disappearing completely.

From the looks of it, Mathias didn't feel anything as he traverses forward into the darkness.
