When I told Gio I'd tell him something, I meant I'd tell him there—in that dark corner where no one could see us—not here in his office, along with the ghosts of the past of me and him and our scandalous trysts that were kept in these four walls and that tiny bedroom back there that I refuse to look at, fighting the strong pull that my curiosity is testing me.

After he held me firmly by the arm and walked me up the stairs with unsurprising ease, he went inside before me, leaving me standing at the threshold, and I had to take a moment before finally stepping in. It's been so many years since the last time I was here. 

Some things have been changed like the walls are repainted the same cream color that looks newish but the furniture remains the same. The collection of bottles at the bar has grown, but I still spot the same bottles from the top shelf that he opens rarely.
