Chapter 5 - Rock-Jonin

Kyoto's figure zapped through the hill range like a blue motion blur.

The sky was an eerie gold.

By the time he had reached the scene of battle all that was present was carnage.

Toko? Pierced by rock spears. Asura? Drowned under a sea of rubble. Ponet? He looked like a shuriken porcupine as blood leaked from an army of slits on his skin.

Kyoto was the only one left.

His mangekyou sharingan swung into place.

"This is why I don't like working in teams."

His voice sounded cursed.

His spinning mangekyou scanned the surroundings.

11 Rock-Jonin, the reports were incorrect.

The Rock-Jonin responded in kind to Kyoto's appearance.

They all began practicing the exact same hand signs.

"Earth style: Rock cluster."

Clusters of rock formed in the air, slowly forming an asteroid.

The combination of 10 Jonins formed a Kage-level attack that would surely crush the Uchiha before them.

Kyoto merely raised his eyebrows.

The asteroid filled the entire view of Kyoto.

A rock-jonin jumped above it, doing hand signs rapidly.

"Wind-style: Lesser Shockwave."

Boom.

A huge gale of wind came crashing on the asteroid, sending it straight toward Kyoto.

The rock-jonin laughed heartily as the results of their battle presented themself.

Kyoto sighed.

"I'm tired."

Kyoto held his right hand outwards.

"Chidori."

Chrr-.

A winding high-pitched sound started crackling.

A blue lightning spike that constantly shifted formed in Kyoto's right hand.

Kyoto wasn't in a solid state of mind so he wasn't controlling the chakra he was putting in the chidori.

Kyoto just looked on as a veil of shadow was cast over him due to the asteroid.

The Rock-Jonin were still carefree.

The golden sky marked the end of this Jonin-Squad.

Kyoto struck forward at lightning speed, the speed-amp from the chidori was so powerful that his entire body was pushed alongside his right arm.

The Asteroid was right before him.

Kyoto struck his right arm forwards in one long blow.

"SHINEI."

Kyoto's face irked in rage as the chidori in his right hand made direct contact with the asteroid.

It sent ripples down the asteroid wildly and the huge mass of chakra within it destroyed the asteroid from the inside out.

Lightning torrents crashed through the asteroid.

In just a few simple moments, the entire asteroid was coated in a silvery-white film.

No-. It was steam.

The entire asteroid had been vaporized in one move.

Kyoto stood opposite the rock-Jonin half turned.

The steam half-concealed his figure.

The Rock-Jonin were at a loss for words. They could only meet eyes with Kyoto in fear.

And soon they all started trembling.

Kyoto looked at them tenaciously, his teeth gritting.

"Good. Stay like that."

Kyoto's shoulders jerked down, and an intense pain formed in his back.

'Fuck. I used too much chakra.'

Kyoto cursed to himself. He had put an unnecessarily huge amount of chakra into that chidori. He should have just dodged the asteroid.

Kyoto shrugged to himself.

Closing his left eye tightly he was ready to end it all in one move.

Blood built up before silently streaming down his left eye.

Kyoto cursed them in his mind.

"Dosijin."

His bloody eye opponent in a strain, it bulged tightly before unleashing an attack of ungodliness.

The sound of a weeping dragon emerged.

The entire hillside which contained the rock-Jonin was covered in cracks. Soon, huge chunks of grass and dirt were uplifted as dust clouds rose.

Kyoto panted heavily.

He had just done two huge chakra attacks, one after another.

The entire hillside that expanded as far as Kyoto could see before him looked like a painting. It had been turned into an apocalypse of risen dirt segments.

Although most of the Rock-Jonin had hidden themself in protective earth-domes a few didn't and their skin looked cracked even through their clothes.

Blood seeped through the cracks as a few Jonin fell to the ground.

Their companions looked at them with stress and disorder.

Kyoto was still grasping his left eye which was burning heavily.

The Rock-Jonin looked at him like he was a freak.

Kyoto returned their gazes with yet another large-scale attack.

Doing hand signs as fast as he possibly could he breathed in tightly. It felt like he was bringing the world to an end.

"Fire style: Great fire destruction."

A huge furnace of chakra burned up within him.

Fwoosh.

The sound of flames released as the entire hill range before Kyoto was set alight.

In fact, Kyoto could not see anything apart from a huge power of beastly orange flames that were flying outwards.

He could only assume that the rock-Jonin were being burnt alive.

Kyoto continued sending out his fire release before he felt something traveling at a high speed through his mangekyou.

Inhumanely fast, Kyoto twisted his neck right, narrowly dodging an Earth spear.

Kyoto's fire jutsu was canceled.

As the flames died down, the hill was set alight and covered in bonfires.

The rock-Jonin began launching Jutsus at Kyoto the second they were able to disregard their defenses.

They had been hiding in earth domes for a while now.

Kyoto merely leaped into the air, turning on his lightning step at the last moment.

"Chidori."

The high-pitched sound of the chidori was the only sound that Kyoto could make out.

Chrr--.

Kyoto, aided by the lightning step, zapped right before a rock shinobi.

Although his current chidori was far weaker than his first, it was more than enough to pierce through the rock-Jonin.

Kyoto pushed his chidori forwards, there was no resistance.

Blood seeped through the Jonin's clothes.

Kyoto yanked the Chidori out, heading for his next target immediately.

The man's body fell to the floor in a slump.

By the time Kyoto reached the nearest Jonin, the rest of the Rock-Jonin had finished their jutsus.

A swamp manifested and squirmed under Kyoto.

Rock walls closed around Kyoto too.

A huge armada of rock projectiles and explosive kunai shot through the air. It was chaos.

As Kyoto leaped right before the Rock-Jonin, he was about to receive a treat.

Although Kyoto's ears were buzzing and struggled to hear noise, he could make out the words coming out of the man's mouth.

"Wind Style: Lesser Shockwave."

An umbrella of compressed wind shot out at an extreme speed. Kyoto was right in the middle of its sights.

A look of pain emerged on Kyoto's face as he crossed his arms for defense.

Soon, Kyoto's figure was blasted through the quagmire below him. His figure skidded through the mud, sending mud flying. Explosions lit up the place where Kyoto had just been. He had narrowly dodged a devastating assault.

Using the Rock-Jonin's uncertainty to his advantage Kyoto lightning dashed to a different Jonin, the one who had just cast the swamp.

Kyoto needed no hand signs as he front-flipped over the Rock Jonin, his breath inhaling air to release a major chakra offensive.

"Fire style: Great Dragon fire."

Kyoto compressed the chakra as much as possible to increase the explosiveness of his attack.

An artistic dragon head formed from the flames he produced.

It dived beautifully into the Rock-Jonin before a deafening boom rang out.

A huge cloud of smoke, traces of flames emanating, rose from the grounds.

An entirely black silhouette writhed in the flames, two whites for eyes that slowly melted away.

He had died.

Kyoto noticed another assault of rock projectiles and explosive kunai.

Kyoto cursed as he acknowledged his time constraints. He was forced to use yet another high-chakra maintenance attack since he couldn't dodge due to the swamp below him.

Kyoto disregarded hand signs, he wouldn't be able to control the chakra outputs he sent out but they would be far stronger despite the heavy chakra cost.

Kyoto used his right hand as the catalyst for this jutsu last time so this time he decided to use his entire body.

Kyoto's words seethed in the air as the projectiles were almost at his neck.

"Lightning style:Inbikiri Ekido no Jutsu"

(Lightning rage.)

A shockwave was sent through the air, powered by lightning. The air trembled as it was pushed away with an exemplary blast.

Blue sparks wavered in the air as lightning blasted and remnated all around Kyoto for 100 yards.

All the kunai and projectiles hit the ground as the range of the shockwave was so far that even the distantly placed Rock-Jonin were affected.

Kyoto felt his chakra levels take a heavy blow but shook it off.

The lightning had temporarily paralyzed the Rock-jonin was a sufficient opening for Kyoto.

Using his lightning step, Kyoto rushed in and appeared before a pair of Jonin in a blur.

"Chidori."

Their eyes trembled and watered as they heard the high-pitched shrieks emerging from the chidori.

Kyoto swiped the chidori from left to right.

A wave of blood rose and the two heads of the Jonin went flying off.

Another set of rock projectiles and explosive kunai went Kyoto's way. They formed in the hundreds and were poorly formed. It seemed to be the opposition's last attack.

Kyoto merely responded with another lightning shockwave.

"Lightning style:Inbikiri Ekido no Jutsu"

The wave instantly caused the rock projectiles to falter.

Kyoto used the speed-amp from his chidori to eliminate another 3 rock-Jonin due to the shock of his large-scale lightning shockwave jutsu.

As he appeared before the last 3 rock-Jonin they crawled backward and squealed.

"How much chakra does he have?"

Water was dripping from their eyes and snot ran down their noses.

Their opponents were meant to be Jonin-level yet the Uchiha before them had been blasting out Hokage-level attacks again and again.

Heck. Even the entire mountainside had been crippled and turned over.

Kyoto sighed.

"I'll send you off swiftly."

His chidori dissipated.

The rock-shinobi smirked charging carrying Kunai for their last-moment revenge.

The rock Jonin from earlier tried to release his signature move for the third time. His hands went wild.

"Wind style: Lesser shockw-."

Kyoto didn't shut his eyes. His opponents didn't have enough chakra to resist his Dojutsu.

"Dosiji."

The unruly rock Jonin charging for his neck all turned into dust. The dust fell upon the floor in mounds of black.

The entire hill range had been upturned and set ablaze from one battle.

Kyoto checked his chakra levels. He had enough to return to the leaf but not enough to fight the same battle once more.

His opponents were somewhat strong but using his Susanoo or right mangekyou would've been a stretch.

"But still."

Kyoto kneeled over. His fists hit the floor unrelentlessly.

"They died because of me."

Kyoto's voice felt empty and hollow.

And so he grieved under the fresh morning atmosphere.

An unfitting contrast.
