In the casual morning of the Quinns Family, a voice of a woman echoes through the mansion.
"Violet!,Violet!!,Violet!!!" a beautiful woman comes into a room and went straight to the thermostat turning it off. She waits at the headboard and look over at the sleeping body, soon the sleeping figure starts to move around for more warmth
"Why did you turn off the thermostats mom, it's cold"
"You need to get up and get dress, remember your sister is coming home today and we need to pick her from airport" Hearing that, Violet jumped from the bed into the bathroom
Anna chuckled upon seeing her youngest child reaction to the news of her older sister arriving
Anna was setting breakfast for the family when Violet came down in her peach romper that her sister had gotten her, she twirled in front her mom to show off the clothing on her body.
"It looks gorgeous" Mike said as he walked down to the breakfast table
"You look like a princess, you should wear more color"
Violet rolled her eyes at her dad as she sits down to eat, the trio continued their breakfast peacefully.
Thirty minutes later, the three are in the car on the way to the airport to pick up the oldest daughter of the family. Violet connects her phone to the car's bluetooth and started playing 7 years by LUCAS GRAHAM. It was the family's favorite song to sing as Mike and Violet scream out the lyrics of the song as they drove down the road.
It was raining heavily outside the airport, a girl in a Harvard jacket is waiting at the terminal as held out two bags and a suitcase. Amber Quinns just graduated from Harvard with a degree in business administration, she had stayed an extra year in cambridge to pay off her student loan. Due to the financial position of her parents, they weren't able to come to her graduation. Finally after six years, she is going to see her parents most especially her little sister. She keeps checking her phone from time to time as she waits. Thirty minutes, an hour passes the time her parents and sister was suppose to have arrived at the airport, she has been dialing their number still no response, she decides not to panic and take a cab home because for all she could know they could have a flat tire or the rain could be holding them down which was causing them to run late
She highlighted a taxi and gave her address to the driver as she keep calling and sending text message. As she got to the highway leading home, she saw the road was blocked by the police, ambulance and a crane that was dragging a car that had fallen over the road, she got down from the cab after paying cause had no time to wait for the police to clear out so she decided to walk to her house. It's quite a distance but she hoped she will catch a cab on her way
The crane pulled the car off the cliff and placed on the solid ground as the paramedics rushed to the car knocking Amber out. One of the cop came helping her up
"Are you okay miss? the cop asked
"You shouldn't be walking alone on the highway like this, miss" he said again
"I am in hurry to get home that why i had to drop from the cab to walk home" I responded as I tried to get as much water as I can out of my cloth
"If you can wait for another fifteen to twenty minutes i will personal drive you to your destination" he suggested
I thought about the idea, it was going to be helpful as it will take me more thirty minutes to get home by foot so i agreed.
"let me get a blanket to keep your warm" he said walking to the ambulance. I sat down at the back of the police car watching the paramedics check the car for any survivor. Soon three stretchers were rolled out to carry the casualties. I shook my head as I saw a little girl was been placed on the stretcher. She was too young to die. The cop came back with a blanket and a hot pack
"Here, the paramedics will been done soon" he said handing her the blanket
"Thanks Officer Devon" i said collecting the items from his hands
"Is there no survivor left?" I asked
"No there isn't, it's so sad that this family's life got cut short" he replied
"Why didn't your parent come to pick you from the airport?" he asked
"They were suppose to pick me but I guess the rain held them up, I have been calling home for the past two hours no respond that why I decided to come home myself" I answered
"Where do you live?" Officer Devon asked
"GraceHill Estate" I responded
"Oh, you live in a rich neighbourhood, give me your parent's name so I can contact the security in the area to help know where your parents are" Officer Devon suggested
I gave him the information required and he went off to make a call to the necessary authority. The ambulance and some of the cops cars are already leaving and the other cops were guiding the crane to the right path. Soon Officer Devon came back with a sad face and he asked
"Are you Amber Quinns Miss?"
