"Everyone is here, right?" Vincent, the director wearing a bowler hat and a black tuxedo, walked out.
Although it was tempting to think that the person walking out was Claudia wearing a mask, Mallory knew that was impossible.
It's only been a few scenes, and already things are different.
"Group act 4145164 has signed up for the advancement performance of the group act to the small special group act, and the advancement performance will be held in one hour, so we have gathered everyone here to observe."
"Let's all show our blessings to Group Act #4145164!" Vincent made a clapping gesture.
The others hurriedly applauded together.
"Thank you!" Mallory stood up and expressed his thanks to Vincent and the crowd.
"Later I will send him to the cast of the promotion show, the rest of you will stay in the coffee, there is a live broadcast about this promotion show inside, watching the live broadcast can also accumulate experience for your future participation in the promotion show, please do not miss this good opportunity." Vincent said a few more words.
The crowd responded one after another.
Without feeling the temper of the new director, it would not be wrong to try to be honest and obedient.
After arranging for the others to enter the cafe, Vincent took Mallory and set off in his little black car.
"Don't be nervous, it's easy to pass the promotion show, only one out of eight people." Vincent sat in the back seat with Mallory and saw that Mallory had been sitting upright, so he spoke to him.
"Well, not nervous." Mallory smiled at Vincent.
"After you succeed in the promotion, you can choose your own crew, but I hope you can stay in my crew, I'm very good at training actors, and I've already produced two leads and five supporting actors in my hands." Vincent said a few more words to Mallory.
"Well, yeah." Mallory, of course, could only agree first.
"I think highly of you." Vincent reached out and patted Mallory's shoulder.
"Thanks for the cultivation of the leader." Mallory expressed his gratitude to Vincent.
"Don't talk to me like that, it looks raw, I'm older than you, just call me Liu." Vincent corrected Mallory.
"Okay, Brother Liu." Mallory could only change his address.
"What about the promotion tournament, try to take first place if you have the chance, drawing the watch is good for your survival on Stonehenge. But you can't be too adventurous, there are some scenarios where if you are too adventurous, you are likely to be the first to be eliminated from the game, and that wouldn't be a good idea." Vincent continued to speak to Mallory.
"Mm-hmm." Mallory, of course, said he was all ears.
All the way Vincent talked to Mallory, who seemed to be a man of many words.
The contact is too little, Mallory can not feel this person's temper for the time being, so Vincent said anything, he acted very carefully listening, and did not take the initiative to say anything more.
As for the success of the promotion, whether to continue to stay in the crew, Mallory decided to talk about it at that time.
Since the new director has offered to keep him, it means that the new director at least does not have any ill will towards him, which is a good thing.
The streets of the city were quiet, with few pedestrians on the street, and only occasionally did he encounter another vehicle on the street.
After about forty minutes, the car stopped at a teahouse, after getting out of the car, Vincent handed Mallory to the staff at the door of the teahouse and returned to the car and left.
Mallory was taken by the staff to the teahouse stairs to go upstairs.
The teahouse is on the riverside, and if the car had continued on, it would have entered a large iron bridge that spans both sides of the river.
On the way upstairs, the staff handed Mallory a sign that said number 6 and told Mallory to stick it to his chest.
"You're in Vincent's crew?" A fat man in a flowery shirt standing by the guardrail at the second floor stairway asked Mallory.
"Hmm." Mallory didn't know the man, but nodded to him anyway.
"He's a pervert." The man smiled meaningfully then went downstairs and walked away.
Mallory frowned, then followed the staff and continued up to the third floor of the teahouse.
There was a large table on the third floor and several people were sitting around it drinking tea, and Mallory was led to the table and sat down.
"Participating in the promotion show?" The man beside him asked Mallory.
"You all are?" Mallory asked rhetorically.
"Yes." The man nodded.
Mallory looked around at the few people at the table, five other people besides him, all men.
They had numbers on their chests from 1 to 5, and it didn't look like the numbers were anything special, just the order in which they came over.
"I bet it's all men, there won't be any women."
"So where did all the female actors go to advance?"
"Female and female group, right?"
"I suspect that we are participating in a performance that may be related to strength, so we don't arrange for women to be in a group with us, otherwise women would be too disadvantaged."
The crowd at the tea table was drinking tea while chatting about the day, and the atmosphere seemed relatively harmonious.
I just don't know if they will still be so harmonious after the promotion show starts.
"Just now I met a fat man in a flowery shirt on the second floor, do any of you know him?" Mallory opened his mouth and asked the crowd.
"He? He's the director of my crew, what do you want from him?" A middle-aged man in his thirties looked at Mallory.
"Nothing, he just initiated a conversation with me, I don't know him, so I asked." Mallory casually ripped it off.
It seems that this Vincent does not have a good reputation in the director's circle.
The matter of whether or not to change the crew really needs to be thought through.
As the people talked, two more men were soon led up from downstairs by the staff.
Eight people were seated at the tea table, but no director or other staff appeared on the third floor.
After waiting for a while, still no one appeared.
The people were given the same notice to wait here.
"What does this mean? Just let us drink tea here than?" Someone humored.
"Haha, then I drink the most, none of you can beat me." Someone echoed.
"Brothers, take it easy later! Don't fight too hard, advancement performance, not to die, don't make you die."
"How is the director of your crew? It seems that you can change the group after you succeed in the competition, right? I don't want to stay in the original crew."
"The same, the same, don't expect a change of crew to be better, people nowadays, with a little power in their hands, take others seriously and call us actors and actresses."
"Where are you all from? When did you come here? Sooner or later, it's still a dead end. Shouldn't we discuss how to leave this damn film city? I still want to go back and hug my wife and kids!"
"You've been in the promotion tournament, and you've been in Film City for quite a few games, right? Still imagining that you can go back and hug your wife and kids? Stop dreaming!"
"Yes, I have long given up the struggle, and I suspect that the original world no longer exists, we will never want to go back."
"It's better to try to earn more points, otherwise it won't even be enough to pay for meals."
The third floor of the teahouse is now like a company meeting in the real world, a group of businessmen who had never met before gathered together, talking about everything.
"The world is ending."
"The zombies have taken over all the streets, bridges, and buildings."
The voice of the plot narration suddenly came from the teahouse room.
The crowd fell silent together.
The whole teahouse became silent inside and outside.
"Only if you successfully cross the big iron bridge next to the teahouse can you enter the safe house on the other side."
"The first seven warriors who enter the safe house will successfully advance and become small special group performers; and the prizes will be drawn in order of ranking according to the order of entering the safe house! The first and second prizes are powerful props, and the third prize is 100 points! The last place will be eliminated from the competition."
"Eight warriors, the grand prize awaits you! Show your courage and wisdom and get going as soon as possible!"
The voice of the narration sounded again.
