Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Replanting an amputated limb

The helicopter flight was a long one.

According to Mallory's previous experience, it was at least three hours or so.

On two previous occasions, he had entered the helicopter cabin, eaten bread and cookies, drank a drink, and then woke up in Film City after a good night's sleep.

But not this time.

He did not dare to sleep, he was afraid that once he fell asleep, when he got off the helicopter was treated as a corpse.

Slowly feel the pain in your body and slowly build up your strength.

Mallory tried again when he finally opened the lid of the box, and a hand reached in!

His hand felt the bread inside, but did not have enough strength to take it out.

He had to build up his strength again.

In the process, his spirit became dazed several times.

But the strong desire to live inside reminded him several times again that he could not just pass out.

The only way he could now stimulate himself to stay awake was to pee every now and then.

The cloth sealed the exit, and this effort would pull on the wound, causing it severe pain, and the severe pain would keep him awake for a short time.

It really wasn't any different than undergoing torture.

At one point, as Mallory tried to pee again, he felt the cloth tied around the wound suddenly crumble open and a hot stream came out.

I don't know if it was water or blood.

The swelling of the bladder had subsided, leaving only the internal pain caused by prolonged suffocation.

Did the wound break open again? Did it bleed?

Would it bleed to death?

Mallory was horrified, but it was impossible for him to lift himself up to check his wounds now.

The cabin was dark, and he had no way to look.

After a long period of power building up, Mallory finally took the bread out of the box.

After taking it out, his arms were once again losing strength, and he couldn't even bring the bread to his mouth.

A few minutes later, relying on a strong will to live, Mallory finally sent the bread to the mouth, he could not remove the outside of the bag, now can not care so much, can only put the bag and bread together into the mouth.

Then he ate it together with the bag.

Because of the sepsis and the extreme weakness of his body, his stomach now does not want to eat at all.

As he forced the bread down, his stomach even cramped up, trying to vomit the food out.

Mallory forced himself to endure the discomfort of nausea and regurgitation, and continued to insist on swallowing the bread into his stomach.

I do not know whether it is a psychological effect, or the box of food and drink does have a therapeutic effect, Mallory a few bites of bread mixed with the bag, the body finally have some strength, no longer as before completely disobedient.

He also had the strength to reach out and take the rest of the bread out of the tattered bag and swallowed it alone.

After taking a break from eating the bread, he reached back into the box and took the cookies out and ate them.

Then he also drank the drink.

I wonder if the wound is bleeding now.

Couldn't see it, just felt wet and sticky there.

After eating the bread and cookies and drinking the drink, a strong feeling of sleepiness came over him.

But Mallory didn't dare to sleep.

He was still worried that he would not wake up after falling asleep.

He continued to hang in there.

The three hours or so of flight time was a torment to him.

He was filled with the fear of death, fearing that he would fail to stay awake when the plane arrived in Film City, and thus be waxed as a corpse after they had disposed of it.

...

The long journey has finally reached its end.

Mallory guessed right, this time the helicopter landed at a place other than the beach tarmac.

Instead, it was an unfamiliar place.

As they disembarked the helicopter, two crew members were standing guard pushing a wheeled first aid bed, or body bed, or something like that.

"I'm not dead, I'm alive."

Mallory reminded the two staff members as they lifted Mallory onto the bed.

The two staff members did not say anything, but pushed Mallory directly toward the adjacent building.

Seeing the various signs in the surroundings, Mallory could confirm that this should be the hospital of Film City.

He hadn't been to this kind of place before, even if he was injured during filming, there were emergency vehicles that transported the medical pods over to treat them on the spot.

I wonder what the hospital in Film City is like.

Mallory reminded himself that he must not forget that important thing and put his cut in the medical capsule along with him while receiving treatment.

Two staff members wheeled Mallory into the hospital and into one of the consultation rooms.

A doctor in a white coat and mask came over and did a visual examination of Mallory's body injuries.

"Not dead yet, but badly injured." The doctor opened his mouth.

"Thanks for putting me in the medical bay." Mallory mentioned to the doctor.

Mallory was thrilled to have made it here alive.

The medical technology in Shadow City was so advanced that no matter how serious the injury was, even if it was already hanging, putting it into the medical bay would bring you back to life.

All the injuries in his body will also all disappear at that moment, so that he does not have to suffer the pain demolition.

"You were not injured on the job while filming and are not covered by the medical insurance underwriting of Film City, you need to pay a separate credit to be rescued." The doctor refused Mallory.

"..." Mallory's heart instantly went cold.

But what the doctor said, he actually had no way to refute.

"I was forced by you to the top of the stone pillar, even at the top of the stone pillar, is still working for you, why is it not considered a work injury?" Mallory thought about it or protested a few words.

"The injury you received lying in your own bed can be considered a work injury? Don't talk to me about this, it's pointless." The doctor turned around and prepared to walk away.

"Wait a minute! I only have 10 points in my account, can I use these 10 points to put back my broken thing first?" Mallory reached out with great difficulty and took the smelly thing out of his pocket.

"This kind of injury, huh? It's the equivalent of replanting a broken limb, and it will take at least two hundred points to do so." The doctor estimated a quote to Mallory.

"I'm a newcomer, and I was injured so badly so that I could come back alive for the movie, the city should always take care of newcomers, right?" Mallory was devastated, and the excitement of coming back alive instantly hit rock bottom.

The hospital is too realistic to not treat the patient without paying.

A life is only 1000 points, I just treat a bird injury, but charge me 200 points.

Black! Really black!

"Newcomers ... newcomers seem to have a policy of loan treatment installments, let me see." The doctor went to the terminal on the wall and made some inquiries, then printed out a form and brought it back to Mallory's face.

"Here's a form for you to sign."

Mallory reached out with a shaky hand and took the sheet of paper.

It was an application form for an advance to pay back the cost in installments for treatment.

The repayment period is one year, and will be deducted from Mallory's payment for each performance, at fifty percent, until the entire amount is repaid with interest.

The APR is 5 points, which isn't too outrageous.

However, this also means that once Mallory agreed to take out a loan for treatment, he could have gotten ten points per scene for future shoots, but now he only has five points in hand, and five points to pay back the loan for treatment.

The outstanding debt that is not paid off within a year will be forcibly deducted from the points account, if the balance in the points account is insufficient ...

Very simple, the old rules of the film and television city, wax seal up.

"How many points does it take to heal the whole body together?" Mallory asked another question to the doctor.

"You need about three or four hundred points for this injury ..., right?" The doctor answered Mallory.

"And how do I fill in the total amount of loan requested?" Mallory continued to ask.

"The specific injury into the medical cabin to be clear, you do not need to fill in the total amount of the loan, just sign below, when the time comes, the actual amount spent, I will help you fill in." The doctor answered Mallory.

Mallory is tempted to question this ... beforehand not explicitly price, on the operating table and then offer, this is completely put X system hospital set up ah!

But he did not dare to question.

The hospital, life in the hands of the doctor, he questioned the doctor, unless you do not want to live.

"To sign or not to sign?" The doctor urged Mallory.

"Yes." Mallory had no choice.
