There was no clerk in the bath center, only a vending machine.
On the wall, like inside the restaurant and clothing store, there was a wall clock and a countdown on the LCD screen.
The cheapest bath ticket provides only hot water, bath towels and a small bar of soap, and is limited to ten minutes and requires only one credit.
After swiping his card, Mallory was given a coin with a strange engraving.
After taking the coin into the locker room and taking off his clothes, Mallory went to the bath room inside.
Bathroom is a grid of closed bathroom.
Put the coin into the coin device in one of the bathroom, the door of the bathroom will automatically open.
The bathroom is a shower, only two square meters in size, and the screen on the top of the wall pulses with a ten-minute countdown.
After the ten minutes are up, Mallory will be forcibly evicted, whether or not she's finished showering.
A woman's shower is a very troublesome thing, generally speaking, not an hour to wash out.
Not so with a man like Mallory.
It can be done in five minutes.
Half a minute to get wet, one minute to soap up, one minute to rub, half a minute to rinse off.
And a minute to wipe off with a towel.
Mallory took a total of five minutes to finish the shower, and then another five minutes to soap the dirty pajamas with a few quick scrubs to get everything done in ten minutes.
Before the ten-minute countdown ended, Mallory had returned to the dressing room and changed into the clean clothes and shoes and socks he had just bought from the clothing store.
After eating and drinking, showering and changing into new clothes, Mallory is now fresh and refreshed, and the morning he was limp at the top of the stone pillar and weak.
It looks like
The locker room provided free plastic bags, and Mallory put the pajamas he had just washed into the bags before returning to the street.
There was still no one on the street.
Everywhere was quiet, as quiet as a dead city.
However, restaurants, clothing stores and bathhouses were all still operating normally, making Mallory think that this could not be a dead city.
Unfortunately, he couldn't find a public phone and there was no place to borrow a cell phone, otherwise Mallory would have had to call the police to tell them what had happened to him, so they could locate him, pick him up and take him home, and find out what organization had taken him to the top of Stonehenge.
For now, it's better to find a living person on this street first.
There was a public restroom across the street from the bathhouse, and Mallory had drunk a lot of drinks and eaten a ton of food, so he needed to go fix it.
The toilet was clean and nicely decorated.
The dryer and toilet paper are all available.
Again, there was no one inside.
While solving the problem in the cubicle, Mallory heard the sound of footsteps on the street outside.
A live person passing outside?
Mallory finished solving the problem, rushed to the street outside.
But the street outside was still empty.
If someone had just passed by, they would have gone to the front corner.
Mallory rushed after them.
Sure enough, after turning the corner, Mallory saw two living people.
Two beautiful-looking ladies were standing in front of a store with a smile on their faces.
The door behind them was large and hidden, and there was no sign outside the store, so I didn't know what was going on inside.
Mallory quickly walked over, ready to ask the two ladies to ask a few questions, or to borrow a cell phone from them to make a phone call or something.
After coming to the two ladies, Mallory was stumped.
The two greeters looked like real people, with rosy cheeks. However, they stood there without moving a muscle.
If you distinguish them carefully, Mallory thinks they are not the welcome ladies.
The clothes they wore were both red, but the specific style was very different.
And not the kind of gown worn by the welcome lady, more like the fashion worn by street pedestrians.
Her toy is also just smiling, not the kind of smile that welcomes guests.
It felt, very much like two passing women standing around posing for pictures.
"You two beauties, you're not playing the wooden man game, are you?"
Mallory tried to ask the two women.
The two remained motionless, only continuing to have that creepy smile on their faces.
Seeing that they did not respond to what he said and remained motionless, Mallory tried reaching over and touching them.
"Is it a wax figure?" Mallory frowned.
Could this be a wax museum?
Mallory took a few steps back and took another good look at the facade of the store.
There was no signboard and no wording like wax museum.
Just then, a very clear sound of footsteps came faintly from inside the store again.
"Is someone there?" Mallory hurriedly rushed closer and shouted to the store.
No one responded, but the footsteps stopped.
There was someone inside!
Without saying a word, Mallory reached out and pushed open the hidden door behind the two women and rushed into the store.
After rushing in and seeing everything inside, Mallory was immediately stunned and fixed in place.
Inside is a hall, more than two hundred square meters, is holding a cocktail party.
There were at least fifty or sixty guests in the two-hundred-square-meter hall.
All of them looked at Mallory by the door of the hall with a smile on their faces, and some of them had glasses of wine in their hands.
However, the hall was very quiet.
So quiet that Mallory could only hear his own breathing.
Everyone in the hall remained motionless in a certain position.
It was as if ... a photograph, or rather, time had suddenly frozen in this moment.
"Is there a living person?"
A moment later Mallory calmed down and asked down the hall.
He had just heard footsteps, indicating that there was indeed a living person hiding in here.
If he could find that living person, he might be able to solve many of his questions.
No one responded, everyone continued to look at Mallory with that kind of smile with some weirdness.
Of course, they were not looking at Mallory, but in the direction of the entrance to the hall.
Because Mallory walked towards the depths of the hall, their eyes did not follow Mallory's movement.
This means that all of them are just motionless wax figures.
The wax figures were made in such realistic detail that they were almost indistinguishable from real people standing still, which made it a little difficult for Mallory to find the one who had just made the sound of footsteps.
"I was just passing by, I didn't mean any harm."
"I don't know how I got here."
"I'd like someone in the know to come forward and tell me what this is all about."
"If you don't come forward, I'm going to have to resort to some extraordinary measures."
Mallory shouted a few more times in the hall, touched the wax figure beside him, and after another moment of hesitation, picked up a fork from the dining table and plunged it into the eye of the wax figure beside him.
If there is a living person really want to hide in these wax figures, can only use this method to force him to show himself.
"Shit!"
The fork in Mallory's hand touched the wax figure, but there was a metal clanging sound, several fork tines were instantly bent, and Mallory's fork arm was shaken to a tingle.
The wax figure, however, was unharmed.
This is a wax figure?
Is there such a hard material wax figure?
"You guys go on with the reception, I'm just passing by, I'll look elsewhere."
Mallory shook his head and turned around, ready to leave through the door of the room in the hall.
This place was too spooky and meant unknown danger.
Just now Mallory was not compelled and did not want to make an aggressive move.
Once done, one must guard against retaliation by these wax figures.
Mallory now does not think these wax figures are dead things, and he does not know what they are.
But it feels like it should be something he can't afford to mess with.
When Mallory turned around to prepare to leave, but was once again surprised in place.
