"Sorry I'm so late Professor Uriel! I heard Jax got into a fight?" Doria Skyborne raced to the school as soon as she got a call from the school about how Jax had apparently been involved in a fight at school.
"Ah Mrs. Skyborne. Just in time, actually. Peter's parents just arrived as well."
"Oh, no! My poor baby! Just look at your handsome face. Which devil would beat up my handsome boy's face like this! It was that fatherless Jax. Tsk tsk, this is what happens when a boy grows up with no fathe-"
"Enough! You dirty, old sagging twat! I might not have a dad but my mother raised me the best she could! Say other word and I'll-"
BAM!
"Jax! How could you speak that way to an adult! I raised you better than that!" yelled Doria after slapping Jax on the back of the head.
"I'm so sorry, it seems I didn't raise him as well as I thought." bowed Doria at a perfect 90 degree.
Jax hated seeing his mother bow down to other people, especially people who called him a fatherless kid and pinned the blame on his mother. Right then and there, Jax vowed to never let Doria bow down to anyone ever again. And the best and quickest way to do that was to became a strong trainer. No! The strongest trainer. Someone so powerful, no one would even think twice about saying that nonsense to him or his mother.
"Alright, I know everyone is pretty heated up. Although Peter was in the wrong as well for his comments, Jax was the one who threw the punch, as such, I will have Jax be suspended from school for 3 days." stated Professor Uriel with her hand on her head like she was getting a headache.
"3 DAYS?! The weekend is coming up! That just means Jax will miss tomorrow's class! I want him expel-" yelled Peter's mother but before she could continue, Professor Uriel hit the desk with her palm.
"3 days! My decision has been made. And Mrs. Hefter, Peter will be suspended the same amount of time as Jax for his comments. We do not discriminate in this academy. Pokemon Academy is a prestigious academy built by the people, for the people. No matter one's background, race, gender or parental situation, as long as they are a student of this wonderful academy, they will be treated all the same! Am I understood?"
"That's preposterous! I will file this against the academy's board of directors-"
"Yes, yes. You do that, Mrs. Hefter. Remember boys, next week, bring your pokemon. If you can't find one that suits you, the academy will provide one for you. Now, go enjoy your long weekend. I wish I could do the same."
Walking back home holding his mothers hand, Jax had a very guilty expression on his face. "Mommy, I'm sorry. I didn't-"
"Shh. It's okay, baby, you don't need to explain anything to mommy. Okay? Sigh, I know it was just a matter of time before this happened. When we get home...Mhm when we get home, mommy will answer any question you have about Daddy. How does that sound?"
"Really?! Okay! It's a promise!"
"Hehe. There's my handsome boy's smiling face. Now, what was this I heard about bringing a pokemon to class next week?"
"Oh! Mommy! Mommy! My very first pokemon! Professor Uriel is having the whole class bring their very own pokemon the class! Oh no! What should I do, mommy?"
"My precious baby is already growing so fast. You're already getting your very first pokemon! Well, what do you want to do? Mommy has a selection of pokemon eggs from her own pokemons. You can pick any one of those. If not, we can go to the pokemon store and see if you like any of the ones you see...or, you can go out with mommy this weekend and we can try out luck in the wild."
Contemplating his choices seriously as this was his very first pokemon, "Mommy, I made my decision! I want to try my luck out in the wild! Plus, it's a date with mommy! Two birds, one stone!"
"Aw, arent you just the cutest little thing!"
After the duo made their way back home, Doria prepared for their next day escapade out into the wilds. Lunch? Check. Pokeballs? Check. Potions? Check. Antidotes? Check. Map? Check.
All that was left was to wait for the moon to set and the sun to rise.
Jax's excitement meter was through the roof.
"I'm not going to oversleep like a certain 10 years old boy. To make sure I'm in top shape tomorrow, I'll go to bed early and wake up early. Like they say, the early bird gets the worm."
With that, Jax drifted off to sleep, dreaming about Ho-Oh, Mew and Arceus, hoping to catch any of the legendaries as his first pokemon.
