Chapter 36 - Attachment!

The meeting room was just the command room with a table and chairs in the middle Adam and the 3 captains were still in this meeting but it was coming to an end soon as Adam ask "can you tell me about the avar as a race" in fact he didn't have to ask as a quick scan will tell them anything this meeting was more of knowing Stephen character than to gather information "the Avars are relatively long-lived but only too 200 years and through genetic manipulation, we managed to unlock our full brain capacity and develop psionic powers" said Stephen with a calm face Adam nodded as its better to hear the details of how they obtained psionic power then Adam said, "this is the last question, do you have any attachment to the avar autocracy?" Stephen was stunned for second then shook his head and said "I doubt any of us had attachment a lot of the people that seen the avar autocracy have pretty much passed away and the stories left are more like fairytales for the young and I don't know how different the gravity in the void is as we could not feel it everything felt normal but it changed our baby's at birth and I'm positive we would be labeled "disabled" or "weird" and the ones that are still alive and seen the avar autocracy don't even remember how it was as they are almost at the end of their life and don't have any attachments" Stephen spoke very calm but he was worried inside as he didn't know how his answer will affect him or his people but he spoke truthfully as they really didn't have a attachment Adam seeing both his calm and worried expressions nodded 'this guy is born a leader, calm even when your truly worried' thought Adam as the only time he saw him break his calm face was when he did it purposely but still Adam nodded at his answer as no attachment is better for them

As Stephen was walking back to his residence throughout the ship getting led around by Alex as he hasn't memorized the route yet Stephen suddenly asked Alex "did I do good?" Stephen knew asking this was stupid but he couldn't calm down his anxiety Alex, on the other hand, was momentarily stunned and then looked at Stephen strangely seeing Stephen wasn't playing some prank he burst into laughter Stephen had a puzzled face at his laughter until Alex said "it's a meeting, not an interrogation if we wanted information we could just go to your ship logs this is like a formal way of getting to know you" said Alex while starting to laugh again while Stephen behind him has an embarrassed face not from the laughter but that his anxiety didn't allow him to think straight and forgot about the ship logs if he remembered the ship logs he would instantly calm down as he would conclude that this was just a meeting to get to know him and not no interrogation to decide his and his people's fates Stephen sighs as he waits for Alex to stop laughing at asks "so what's next for us?" Alex knew that he was talking about himself and his people "you will know when you meet forefather" said Alex as they were close to reaching his residence while the other avar curiously look at Stephen and Alex as they were gone for a few hours they were curious to what but Stephen didn't relieve their curiosity as he just walked to his house shook Alex's hand and said, "thank you for showing the way captain Alex" Said Stephen with a smile while Adam shook his hand with a smile and said "it's my pleasure captain Stephen" after saying this Alex turned around and left while Stephen opened the door and went to his house

As Stephen was in his house he was thinking about "forefather" as they still have access to the internet of the ultimas they tried to see his pictures or videos but the Pressure they give off immediately feints the avars and the computer automatically turns of the pictures or videos sensing this of course this was kireans blood presence as the highest bloodline in the universe it's limit is the entire universe itself meaning anyone in anywhere in the universe looking at his photos will feel this pressure but they might not be necessarily weak enough to feint like the avar, Stephen sitting on his couch watching tv was still thinking of this topic as even his people are talking about the "forefather" some even say he guided them here but Stephen doesn't believe this because if "forefather" knew of their circumstance the ultimas didn't exhibit any behavior that they knew anything which is weird, as Stephen was having a stupid mental struggle of a being he can't even comprehend a bell sounded of throughout the barracks everyone included Stephen stopped and went to the center of the small city as it was now lunch and Stephen was starving as he missed breakfast, at the cafeteria Stephen and his people walked in seeing as their was already ultimas eating and chatting Stephen found a nice place with enough space for his people to eat as they waited their food a group of ultimas next to them said while laughing and drinking "have you heard the fleet tournament will start in 6 days it was officially announced yesterday" hearing his words the ultimas at the table laughed together while one said "finally I've been waiting for a while I wonder who will win the champion fleet, the Valkyrie fleet or the glorious battle fleet" said the Ultima "sadly we can't participate but hey I think glorious battle will win with a name like that it would be a shame if they didn't" said a Ultima as another said "I think the valkyries will win" as this debate of who will win continued they decided to just see in 6 days Stephen heard and saw all of this as none of this was a secret and got him thinking 'so this huge fleet is made out of 3 separate fleets that explains the different colors and decorations on ships but other than that I really want to taste that alcohol' thought Stephen as he hasn't had a good drink in years so he ordered one and then everything went blank and he woke up in his bed with a splitting headache
