The bright orange colour of the sun had quickly turned dull as the grey clouds gathered, rumbling ;dark and angry. The booming voice of thunder was intimidating and irritating as lightning flashed shards of light from his formidable torch. The downpour was massive on that early aspect of Tuesday . The whole town of Adukrom had become cloudy making visibility nearly impossible . Dufie quickened her steps to avoid the downpour from draining every part of her body which would lead to severe illness.
It was a tuesday and was supposed to be a markert day but for the heavy downpour, people would have crowded the markert center . Dufie would have been there too, eagerly , persuading a passer by or a customer to purchase one of her goods. She was a petty trader, a wife, and a mother.
the downpour had increased and she had only fifteen minutes to get to the station ; that is if she really want to go with the early afternoon train to Accra.She wished she had bid farewell to her family members especially her husband for that would have made it easier for her to return and start the journey the following day; but she was scared ;by now she knows her husband will be worried about her.
She had escaped and that was the most stressful punishment she had given to her family especially her three year old daughter Janet.She began to worry as fear gripped her sending shiver into every part of her body . She began to retrace her steps back to her humble home but on a second thought , she had a change in mind ; she had a motive of running away and she cannot go back and sleep on that long wished motive.
Life had crawled so many things like lessons , thought and she had learnt one thing about not giving .She could remember her dad trying so hard to give her hopes up. That was the more reason she cannot give up. She drained the wicked life style of her dad , it suck deep within her emotions , she embraced hatred; that was the most joyful moment for , a minute to hate her dad more.
Growing up, she never experienced the love of a father yet she lived with a father. For reasons she never understood reasons why her dad betrayed their love. Those terrifying moments gave her enough reason to think about the reality of life .''I wished " she mumbled to her self ...
She quickly hoped into the train , gracefully she was on time. She quickly adjusted her bag on the side of the train and smiled pitifully ....She didn't know much about Accra but hey who cares. The fact that her thought were making sense to her was enough reason for not to give up ..
