KASUMI KISHI
The match was over... Renji had won. Usually one would be excited for their friends victory. But, it was completely one sided both Renji and Tokita had used grand magic a type of magic extremely hard to control. While Tokita used grand magic she took into consideration the damage it would cause to Renji. Without knowing what he's capable of its understandable she took another persons life into consideration but Renji on the other hand didn't seem to pay no mind to the possible permanent damage he could have caused her using his grand magic.
Kaminari-Raiho, A special type of grand magic hailing directly from the thunder god itself. The Thunder God blessed the Aihara family a long time ago. The world hasn't seen anyone use grand magic directly from the thunder god itself though since Misa Aihara back during the Katsueki war. Her very son Renji Aihara had just used this grand magic. Tokita the one hit by said magic was severely hurt but her life wasn't in danger.
After a while Renji had appeared back in the spectator room his face expressionless. I didn't approach him but instead watched as he didn't head in my direction but towards Ms. Rockheart instead. I couldn't really make out what he said and I hadn't seen Saika with him physically or in sword form. He bowed his head and walked behind Ms. Rockheart. We would soon be coming to a close on our matches. I was to fight one more match and so was Renji, Renji had been pushed up to the Semi Finals because his opponents forfeit. I'm sure they were eager to fight him at first.. but after seeing his strength the weaker opponents of class 1 decided they wouldn't go through the trouble of being embarrassed in front of everyone in class.
Because we were at the Semi Finals we were told the limitations on participants would be removed. The Final four contestants were as shown on screen Renji Aihara, Takashi Reed, Fumiko Sakkaku, and finally myself Kasumi Kishi. Ms. Rockheart had returned "After a brief one hour interval the Semi Finals and Finals will commence. we ask that all student's watching these matches move to viewing hall B" "Uhm Ms. Rockheart can speak to you for a moment?" she nodded and we walked away from the trafficking students making their way out to room B. "How's Tokita? Is she alright. I'm sorry Renji got a bit-" she cut me off " If you wanna know how Miss Sawa is doing you are more than welcome to go check you have more than enough time to stop by but you are not Mr. Aihara's parent or guardian you do not take accountability for the actions he does.." she was right, I nodded and and she smiled at me watching me run off towards the infirmary I had thought Renji still the child who needed saving from tough situations.
After about five minutes of walking I had made my way to where Tokitas medical room was. I heard faint noises, I had hesitated thinking she was with friends of hers. I decided to listen in on the conversation between Sawa and whoever else was here so I pressed my ear to the door. "...I'm sorry.." it was a males voice, I had instantly thought Tokita had a boyfriend and blushed. "Hmm, Whatever for?" Tokita had indeed sounded hurt still but she sounded happy. "We shouldn't have disrespected you... we just wanted to apologize properly." WE? I thought to myself, who else could have been there I hadn't heard any other voices. "Stop apologizing it's weird, I'm actually quite honored you used such an Grand spell on someone like me and although you didn't use your weapon I'm glad we fought. So how about we just be friends instead? I call you Renji you call me Tokita." I had pressed to hard on the door and it flew open, Tokitas face instantly became flushed red after seeing me while Renji and Saika looked as if they knew I was there.
"How long were you there Kishi?" "Long enough to hear you flirting with each other" I replied Saika instant responded "Master was doing no such thing, right Master." Renji was staring at his hands "Master she accepted our apology no need to look so down." "ooh huh? yea right once again I'm sorry Saw- uh Tokita we'll see you guys later. And just like that they were gone. "Soooo, Sawa how are you. Feeling any better?." "A little electrified but I'm fine more or less." "I see,that's good. What were you and Renji talking about." "Nothing romantic Kishi don't worry, I wasn't trying to flirt with him he seemed really sorry for hurting me so I asked him to be my friend as compensation." "hmm ok, Will you be able to spectate the rest of the matches?" "I'm gonna be in bed for the next year or so, if it wasn't for that little girl with Renji giving me her Mana to sustain my injured leg until medics arrived it was possibly I would never walk again, but ill be watching the matches from here." The room was quiet that could have been tragic if not for Saika. "I'm sorry to hear that, I hope your injuries get better ill come back with Renji next time.
With that I left and returned to the spectator room. Renji, Saika along with Fumiko, and Takashi had all been sitting scattered across the room with Ms. Rockheart nearby I took a seat. 15 minutes until the names were shuffled and the last three matches would take place. everyone was doing something different Fumiko confidently fixing his hair, Takashi taking a nap, Renji was making a call, the room was silent so his call would easily be overheard most of it anyways but I didn't think he cared. I took a seat somewhere away from everyone else but not too far and listened in on bits of Renji's conversation.
"Hello".. Mhm yea where are you currently?..... Could I possibly speak to Akari" Akari? Akari Kiyomeru was the daughter of one of the four major families, The Kiyomeru family. The Kiyomeru currently the worlds greatest medical conglomerate. But Akari last I heard was in Holiwa managing a business deal with Himeko. Himeko Ōkui, The Okui family also one of the four major families. They dealt with the worlds finances and were extremely prominent and talented. They shouldn't be back no time soon though. "Yea...Hey Akari it's me could you head back to the acad-" "..yes I'm perfectly fine Akari so could you come back to the academy for me it's import-"…. "Huh?…Yea I'm attending classes again...." …"Uhm within the next couple months or so… "Oh Ok ill see you then I guess, tell Himeko I said hello.... Ok see you guys soon thanks a lot Akari."
Ms.Rockheart spoke to us " The shuffle is complete, If your name is called please head to the starting arena you will be competing first. We ask that you do not intentionally aim for your opponents life now that restrictions are lifted. Keep in mind this is still merely a training exercise so do not be nervous we are simply testing you. The first match up of the Semi Finals will be... Renji Aihara vs Takashi Reed" Takashi yawned after his name was called stood from his seat and walked out the left door. Renji stood slowly Saika became a long silvery white blade that Renji had put in a beautiful blossom flower type sheath turned looked at me and said "cheer for me again would you." His face flashed a smile he then walked out the right door.
Ms. Rockheart had spoke once more "After match one ends match 2 Fumiko Sakkaku vs Kasumi Kishi will take place please head to the starting area once match one concludes, good luck to you both."
RENJI AIHARA
My match with Tokita was about to end, I wanted to use a grand spell like she had but made sure to hold back or so I thought but while trying to make the spell less harmful it had done more damage than it would have previously. I'm so stupid why would I be able to make a spell that's meant for causing harm and death non harmful, Damn it, I should have known taking moms advice without testing it first would be fatal she doesn't know the meaning of hold back. The A.I system moments before I released the spell started to hurriedly drain the magic from my body powering the spell simultaneously deter the force of my attack heading at Tokita, those actions had prevented death but that was all it could do the sheer amount of electrical current I sent through her body even not at full strength was more than enough to shut her body down. Tokita had protected herself somewhat and tried to guide the current underground but it didn't leave the body and might have permanently shut down the use of her lower body.
"Saika help her, give her my Mana and strengthen her body even if you have to take everything from me to do it! Just make sure she doesn't die." Saika jumped from the bench and began strengthening Tokita so she wouldn't die at the very least. In that time I ran to get medics quickly to the scene. Time passed, The medics had said apparently the after effects from Kaminari-Raiho were severe in this case, Because Tokita was a water mage it was eating at the elemental mana in her body. The shock had been so much if it wasn't for Saika it could have been possible she wouldn't be able to ever conjure mana in her body again on top of not moving.
As more time had passed I didn't know what to do. Saika had been feeding my mana directly into Sawa so she wouldn't die. Although, it was taking everything I had to keep myself from collapsing on the spot. That was all I could do to help even after giving her near all my mana to survive the after effect of Kaminari-Raiho she was stable enough to live. Me and Saika would have to give her mana everyday for Kaminari-Raiho to eat at so she wouldn't die. Without us supplying her with mana she wouldn't even be able to breath properly on her own. I had decided there was only few people capable of treating this type of phenomena even then I wasn't even sure but I so happen to know one of them that could make it possible. I had to visit Tokita though I needed to apologize. I had searched for Ms. Rockheart and when I found her asked her which room was Tokita was in she didn't question my motives and simply answered me with the room number so I headed down the medical hall in that direction. "Saika how is everything i'm headed there now?" I spoke telepathically to my companion feeling for her presence inward "We're fine Master her condition is stable she's awake and all her outward injuries have been healed I've done all I can." I was plenty grateful just for that "Thanks a lot Saika I would be lost without you." I could feel her joy at hearing those words
Soon after a doctor went out the room bowed and took off. Saika had an unimaginable amount of guilt at whatever news the doctor had just given. I braced myself I was at the door I noticed not too far behind me was Kasumi not at a pace where she was following me but just seemingly heading towards the same place as I. "Take a deep breath." I entered the room Tokita and immediately looked at the floor I didn't want to look her in her eyes. "Uhm… I just wanted to stop by and…" she cut my sentence short "the least you can is look me in my eyes as you talk." She was right I had to face what I'd done to her and live with it.
I looked up slowly and our eyes met. I was stunned, she didn't have a look of anger or hatred when she seen me instead a welcoming smile. I stared into her shiny eyes reflecting me. "Sawa I... I'm sorry, I didn't try to permanently injure you on purpose... I.." She put her finger up to her mouth and smiled widely and said "Stop it, If you didn't MEAN to cause me harm then its fine its a bummer I can't use magic anymore though but what can you do." she shrugged and I looked immediately at Saika "W-Wait...What?" My voice staggering, I had thought her mana was being attacked and we were temporarily fixing it that's all. "Master we received the news shortly before you entered I though it best she explain in person." I imagine the look on my face was unbearable for anyone to see so Tokita spoke again "Don't beat yourself up about this I was debating if I was to drop out and help my family anyways. I'm Tomboyish so I never really made friends I was just lonely here anyway this was the final push I needed."
She had to be at least somewhat sad. To even make it into this school and class 1 at that takes immeasurable amounts of hard work and dedication. "Sawa I'm….Sorry I never meant to…" I looked up into her shiny eyes again she looked desperate like she wanted me to have an answer. But I couldn't give her something I wasn't sure would even work so instead I gave her the only thing I could. My support "Sawa please don't quit the academy… I'll search for a solution please stay I'll search every corner I'll research every peace of ancient knowledge I can find just give me one year and if that's not enough I'll give my very life" Saika immediately jumped in "Master you can't be serious what about everything we've worked hard for, we can't give up what about the things we promised, What about me!"
I knew it would be painful if I ever left Saika alone I knew she was sheltered and I knew she knew better than everyone what my revenge meant to me to us. "Saika!" I said my words harsh "you know better than everyone what it means to me to get revenge we relive that moment every night… But, After that.." my words fell short. "Cmon don't joke like that its truly cruel and unfair to me and to her." Tokita began crying "It's not a joke I know people that could possibly heal what I've done to you so please wipe your eyes and even if they can't I'll search for a way myself. I could feels Saika's worry for my life. The atmosphere was weird so I was beginning to leave "I'm sorry." I said to Tokita one last time "Hmm, Whatever for?" She was wiping her tears dry "I shouldn't have disrespected you back there you are strong so I just wanted to apologize properly." I began zoning out thinking of who I could depend on if everything didn't work and my last go to would be Hikari Kazui the 6th Lunar, my mind was wondering on, Maybe I'm not fit for school, maybe its just not for me. "So down.." I hadn't caught any of their conversation but decided it was time me and Saika take our leave "ooh huh? yea right once again I'm sorry Saw- uh Tokita we'll see you guys later." I flashed a smile before leaving, it was time I made a call to someone who may be able to help so I headed back to the spectator room and did just that.
I called someone I was close with when I was younger she was like my very own guardian Angel. Akari Kiyomeru, she was also from one of the four families so she was alienated from other kids just like I was. Not too long was Kasumi, she took a seat sorta close but I knew she wouldn't be able to hear the full conversation maybe bits and pieces at the least. I ignored her and someone picked up the phone "Hello?" "Hello this is Renji Aihara"… I was met with silence, I didn't have Akari's personal number so I did the next best thing and called her secretary who used to pick us up from school when we was younger. "Are you perhaps…. Little Ren…" I immediately cringed at that name "cmon Shina I told you not to call me that." "So it is little Ren awwww I'm sure Lady Akari will be delighted to hear you're back on your feet." "Mhm yea where are you currently?" "Currently… we're quite far away actually. We're in Holiwa." Holiwa was the city of color and wealth constantly busy and packed with people and businesses. "Could I possibly speak to Akari." "Of course little Ren but keep in mind she's in a meeting and with lady Ōkui but I'll connect you now."
"Hey Akari it's me Renji could you head back to the acad-" she started screaming into my ear. I though she was supposed to be in a meeting. "RENJI I missed you how have you been? Are you feeling bet-" I cut her short because if I didn't she'd check on me all day "yes I'm perfectly fine Akari could you come back to the academy for me it's import-" once again she cut me off. "Are you attending classes again by chance Renji?" "Huh? Yea I'm attending classes again…" "Hmm that's awesome I can't wait to see you how quick do you need me back." "Within the next couple months or so…" I knew I was asking a lot considering she was a busy person but she might not have been the best option but without a doubt the most knowledgeable and dependable. "Hmm…. You know I love you right Renji. I would rush anytime you call me but the earliest I can be back is probably half a year." I knew she wouldn't be able to instantly rush whenever I called her but it was better to make her aware that I needed her that way at least she won't forget. "Oh ok I'll see you then I guess, tell Himeko I said hello." She's busy arguing prices but I will….." she stopped talking but I could hear her breathing "I'm sorry Renji if I had known you would need me I would come to your side immediately I really hope you know that I love you I'll see you as soon as I can." I knew Akari liked me in that way she's been very vocal about that since we was young so much so there was a time she cried non stop and came to my house every day after my mom passed. She would sit on the other side of my door and talk to me, although I never responded for a while it brought me comfort knowing that she truly cared. "Ok see you guys soon thanks alot Akari."
Soon after the lots were pulled and the matchups were decided.
