Chapter 52 - Unfair Part 2

"Bullsh*t! You found a Saint!?"

Ahhh, the sweet feeling of victory.

Theo simply nodded in response to Selene's hysteria.

"You also found Sky in the first orphanage you went to!? And the saint was there!? WTF!?"

Selene messed her head in annoyance, irritated at the absurd luck Theo had.

F*ck money and a connection with the Duke when you have a Saint that's basically worth a whole ass nation.

Saints are basically guaranteed to become a Grandmaster and sometimes if the child has more talent than they should, they might even reach Pinnacle tier.

Throughout the history of Alethea, wars were fought and countries have fallen, because of the existence of saints.

There was almost no other grander treasure than a saint existing in your country.

Depending on their specialty, they could easily rival a nation's strength with ease.

It was the bare minimum to expect when someone has the title of Saint.

And the fact that Vitoten and Virtus have two saints in each of their respective empires is something that most nations of the world look in envy, but what can they do? The two nations were literally unrivaled in almost every shape and form in terms of military strength.

Doing anything to take their saints was basically asking for their nations to get obliterated from the map of Alethea

The fact that Theo found one randomly in an orphanage that he had other plans for was literally mind boggling for Selene.

Selene clutched her head, suppressing the sheer anger she was currently feeling.

The gods hate me! How can you be so lucky to get a f*cking Saint!? That's so stupid!

"Oh I forgot to tell you, I made some money, creating a fast food chain, so I think I'm not far behind you in that department. It was a pain in the a*s to make but as someone who is experienced in this kind of field, it was easy as pie with the help of a certain Heathcliff." Theo said casually as if stabbing another spear at the fatally wounded Selene.

.... Fast food chain.... fast food chain...!? Don't tell me!

"Don't tell me you made DFP!?"

DFP or Dragon Fried Chicken, a up and coming fast food chain that was on the rise in the food industry. It's influence has spread all over the northern continent and are even planning on expanding further south in the near future, despite only starting their business a year and a half ago.

What makes DFP special was the unique and absolutely delicious flavor they had on their simply made fried chicken.

They weren't costly as well, which makes it open for any commoners and nobles alike.

Selene was even one of the people who got addicted to DFP and wondered where the hell it came from when it never appeared in game.

She didn't bother investigating it, because the food touched her heart too much for her to try and find offense in the food chain.

Now that Selene finally discovered the creator of such a chain, she raged.

Enraged by the fact that it was made by Theo

Enraged by the fact that Theo most likely made more money than her

And enraged by the fact that it tasted so f*cking good!

Selene knelt on the ground defeated

Why? Oh lord Thanatos? Why should I be the one to go down the drain? I hate rats, they suck, they scare me, they... they stink! Especially sewer rats! This is a disaster in the making! A dungeon filled to the brim with them!? f*ck me sideways!

Selene screamed profanities in her head, regretting that she didn't do enough to compete with the absurd and lucky achievements that Theo had.

"It's f*cking UNFAIR!!" Selene shouted as if she was a child throwing a tantrum

Theo simply smiled and enjoyed the show that was enacting in front of him

"Oh and the guy that attacked the Town was Grin by the way" Theo mentioned, doing his best to rub salt on Selene's wounded pride.

Selene, hearing this, pounced at Theo.

"YOU! Your purposefully instigating me! Aren't you!?" Selene shouted at Theo with a gaze akin to pure hatred.

Selene summoned the scythe she's been using the past two years and pointed it at Theo, clearly conveying what she was about to do.

"I just forgot to add the other details earlier. I wanted it as a surpirse. So chill and put away the scythe." Theo said holding his hand in front of him, gesturing Selene to calm donw

"You might be misunderstanding something, Theo. Do you take me for a fool?." Selene coldly said as she radiated a deathly aura.

Theo suddenly broke out in cold sweat, because of the radiating deathly aura that surrounded Selene, having all of it concentrated him.

"How about we talk about this cordially? No need to resort to violence" Theo said with a strained smile

She's only two sub-levels below! I can't causally deal with her anymore!

"Blame yourself... Theo!"

As soon as she called out to him, Selene swung her scythe with deadly force, aiming straight for Theo's neck.

Ting!*

Luckily, Theo was prepared and deflected Selene's quick slash with Dawn.

"Can you not take small banter!?" Theo said as he deflected another attack from Selene.

"More like mocking! Shut up and just get cut already!" Selene took it upon herself to fire off a flurry of slashes.

"Kuh, suit yourself" Theo, once more, prepared himself for another long exchange of blades

*****

"Phew.... Had enough?"

Theo said as he stood at a completely destroyed room. All the wooden furniture in the room fell victim to Selene's scythe and the walls, ceiling and floor had different degrees of cuts that span all over.

Theo wiped the small sweat he had on his brow as he wore a bitter expression, looking at Selene who was out of breath , laying down on the floor.

She actually made me sweat and she lasted an hour this time as well. The gap of strength really is apparent between Tiers...

He was still way stronger in terms of physical strength he already knew they were almost always par with their main weapon technique, Selene with her death mana would probably equal Theo without him using Sacrifice and that's also only if she's fighting by herself.

And if she summoned her undead?

Theo knew that he was going to have to use Sacrifice if he wanted to win.

Selene, despite losing to Theo, had a wide grin on her face.

"Looks like I'm catching up, Theo. Hah... hah.. Let your guard down and I might just surpass you."

Theo simply scoffed at her.

"I'm not worried. There's no universe where your going to be stronger than me, Selene"

Even though she had the title, Saint of death or when the time arrives when she completed she cures her cursed physique, Theo was confident that he would be able to keep up, because even he had a Bloodline that would blow everything out of proportion.

With the condition of beating all the existing chaos beasts in the world.

Selene stood up, her legs trembling with exhaustion. Seeing this, Theo tool the initiate to lend a hand, but Selene waved her hand, refusing Theo's outstretched hand

"No need, I can stand-! Ah."

Selene's left leg gave out, making her fall down towards the marbled floor.

"Got you. You good? You should really rely on people more"

Theo with his superior reflexes easily caught Selene in his arms before her face planted down on the floor by the waist.

"Thank- kya!" Before Selene could even thank Theo, she was suddenly lifted up from the ground

Theo then Princess carried Selene with a clear mischievous smile on his face, clearly teasing the exhausted Selene by embarrassing her.

Selene nothing their current position simply froze in horror

"Ah....t-han.... thanks..." Selene muttered under breath embarrassed

She clutched Theo's shirt and huddled as much as she could, trying her best not to show her red tinted face.

.... Wtf.... I thought she was going to flail in anger...

Theo couldn't help but feel his heart thump at the adorable display of the person in his arms.

He really does smell nice...

Selene inevitably caught on to the scent of Theo. It was the same familiar smell that she didn't feel adverse to. It reminded her of the time, when they finished fighting the Red Beast.

She somehow went beyond the feeling of shame and slowly felt at peace.

Selene placed her head closer to Theo's chest.

I can hear his heart.... it's beating really fast.... hehe, now you're the one embarassed huh?

Selene took a quick glance at Theo's face.

He had his face averted away from Selene.

She could clearly see his ears and his cheek slightly blush from Selene's sudden physical touch.

Who knew the Theo I knew could be this cute.... I wonder what will happen if I just touch his chee-!

BAM!*

Selene had her hand midway towards Theo's cheek when the door suddenly blasted open from the outside, revealing a familiar black haired man who had an excited smile on his face.

"Your big brother's home! Selene-!"

Fuck

Theo and Selene thought in unison.
