Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Su Lin, the Young Miss of Su Enterprises

In the heart of the bustling city, amidst the gleaming skyscrapers and the relentless pace of life, stood Su Lin, a cold-blooded and aloof beauty. The young miss of Su Enterprises, she was a vision of elegance and power. With her striking features and an aura that commanded respect, she moved through the corporate world like a phantom—seen but seldom understood. Behind her composed facade lay a mind sharper than the most exquisite blade, capable of orchestrating intricate plans that would leave her adversaries reeling.

At the moment, Su Lin was deep in a negotiation meeting for Su Enterprises, the boardroom filled with executives and advisors. The stakes were high, and she was determined to dominate the discussion, extracting the maximum profit from the deal on the table. Her voice was smooth and authoritative, slicing through the chatter as she laid out her vision for the future of the company.

"I expect nothing less than a fifteen percent increase in our market share by the end of the quarter," she stated, her gaze piercing through the hesitant faces of the board members. "If we want to remain competitive, we must push harder. Compromise is not an option."

As she spoke, her confidence radiated, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. Su Lin had always been a force to be reckoned with, and today was no different. The deal was progressing in her favor, but just as she was about to seal the agreement, her phone buzzed on the table—a discreet alert from her hidden guard.

Excusing herself, she stepped out of the room, her heart racing with anticipation. The news was significant; they had caught Victor, the master of the Syndicate, the very man who had been a thorn in her side and a danger to her daughter, Xiaoxing. The guard's voice crackled in her ear as he relayed the details, urging her to come immediately.

With each word, her resolve hardened. Victor had eluded capture for too long, and now he was within her grasp. As she ended the call, a cold smile crept across her lips, a stark contrast to the composed demeanor she maintained in the boardroom.

"Prepare my car," she instructed one of her assistants, her voice steady and unwavering.

As she walked back into the boardroom, the discussions continued, but her mind was already elsewhere, envisioning the confrontation that awaited her. She would not just confront Victor; she would extract every piece of information he held about the Syndicate and ensure he understood the depths of her power.

"Excuse me," she interrupted the ongoing chatter, her tone commanding. "I have an urgent matter to attend to. We'll reconvene tomorrow to finalize the details."

With that, she turned on her heel and left the boardroom, her heart pounding with adrenaline. The thought of finally confronting Victor filled her with a sense of purpose.

As she approached her car, the world around her faded away. There would be no mercy for Victor. He had crossed a line, and now she would make him pay.

As Su Lin's sleek black car glided through the dimly lit streets of the city, the hum of the engine faded into the background, overtaken by the weight of her thoughts. The neon lights of the passing buildings flickered in her peripheral vision, but her mind was pulled back to a chilling memory-one that had haunted her since the day it happened. It was a memory she could never escape, a ghost that lingered in the darkest corners of her mind.

It was an ordinary day, or at least it had started as one. Xiaoxing had been playing in the living room, her laughter ringing like sweet music through the spacious home. Su Lin, the cold and aloof young miss of Su Enterprises, had always made it a priority to spend quality time with her daughter. No matter how ruthless her business dealings were, Xiaoxing was the light in her otherwise meticulously organized world, a world built on power, prestige, and an iron will.

But that day, her focus had slipped, just for a moment. She recalled glancing at the clock on the wall, noting how the hours had flown. A knot of unease settled in her stomach as she stood up, ready to check on Xiaoxing, her instincts tingling with an unshakable feeling that something was off.

The moment she stepped into the hallway, her phone buzzed violently in her pocket. It was a message from one of her hidden guards-urgent and brief. "Stay inside. We've got intel of a possible threat."

Su Lin's heart raced as she instinctively moved toward the door, intent on fetching her daughter. But as she reached for the doorknob, she froze, a sense of dread washing over her. The house was too quiet. Where was Xiaoxing?

With swift, practiced movements, she opened the door and stepped into the living room. The sight that met her was a living nightmare. The front window had been shattered, shards of glass scattered across the floor like dangerous confetti. Her breath caught in her throat as she called out, "Xiaoxing!"

There was no response. The room felt suffocating, as if the walls themselves were closing in. Panic surged through her veins as she rushed through the house, each room echoing with silence. The kitchen, the bathroom, even the small playroom-she found nothing but emptiness and fear.

Her phone buzzed again, this time more insistent. Another message from her guard: "Su Lin, we have visual confirmation. Syndicate operatives are in the area. Get out now!"

She dropped her phone and dashed to the back door, praying that Xiaoxing had somehow made her way outside. As she reached for the knob, a horrifying realization struck her-the door was ajar.

Heart pounding, Su Lin burst into the backyard, scanning frantically for any sign of her daughter. Just as she stepped outside, a black van screeched to a halt at the front of her house. Figures in dark clothing spilled out, their faces obscured by masks.

She froze, a primal instinct flooding her senses. As if time had slowed, she could see them moving with precision, as if they had rehearsed this moment a thousand times before. They were coming for her daughter.

In that instant, something deep within Su Lin awakened. The cold, calculating beauty known for her ruthless business dealings transformed into a mother driven by pure instinct. She lunged for the nearest object, a heavy metal garden tool, and without hesitation, she hurled it towards the first figure, striking him in the head.

Chaos erupted.

She fought like a woman possessed, adrenaline coursing through her veins as she dispatched one intruder after another. But there were too many. She could hear the commotion, the grunts of struggle, and amidst it all, she felt the worst kind of fear-the kind that steals your breath and paralyzes your heart.

"Xiaoxing!" she screamed, her voice cracking as she dispatched another attacker.

Just as she gained the upper hand, a brutal force struck her from behind. She spun, disoriented, only to see one of the masked figures lurch towards the open door. Her heart dropped. They had taken her daughter.

"No!" she cried out, scrambling to her feet, but it was too late. The van screeched away, her precious Xiaoxing inside, leaving her standing in the chaos, gasping for breath amidst shattered glass and blood.

As the memory faded, Su Lin blinked back the stinging tears that threatened to spill. She clenched her fists, her resolve hardening. She would get her daughter back.

Now, as her car pulled closer to the location where Victor was held, the determination coursing through her was palpable. The Syndicate had underestimated her, believing they could break her spirit. They had made a grave mistake.

"I'll tear you apart, Victor," she muttered, her voice low and fierce. "And then I'll come for everyone else."

Her grip tightened around the steering wheel, her heart steady as she prepared to face the man who had brought her family so much pain. The time for negotiation was over. This was about vengeance, and she was ready to unleash hell.

With a cold smile, she pressed on the accelerator, the warehouse looming closer in her sight. The past was etched in her memory, but now, she was armed with the determination to rewrite her story.
