IT'S been hours as Annie was getting impatient and wondering what was happening upstairs,.... but she doesn't care if they're ready to bring down the roof... all she wants is her own fair share. Basically not for her child but for her selfish interest. She stood up to survey more while thinking of the next step to take. She heard footsteps behind her which alerted her to turn around to look as a small figure caught her attention.
Miriam look at the ceiling in anticipation for her mother who was supposed to read bedtime stories to her but she was taking more than the usual time and this got her worry as she stepped out of the bed heading out of her room to check on her mum. Coming down through the stairs she saw a woman standing in their living room as she continually touch the bead vase beside the little aquarium that was on display ,she hasn't seen this woman and she definitely don't know who she was ;
" she must be one of the family friend because today was definitely her birthday so she was expecting new faces at least " so she thought .
curiosity got the best of Miriam as she went ahead to know this particular woman standing in front of their little aquarium situated in their sitting room.
" Hello ma'am , please did you see my mum ? " she asked with anticipating eyes .
" I didn't " Annie said smiling.
" Please can I know your name I've never seen you before " Miriam said walking towards her..
" Annie " she answered.
" Then can I call you aunty " Miriam asked.
" Sure " Annie said as she bend down to pat her hair.
" Aunty today is my birthday " she continued.
" So I guess you came to wish me a happy birthday " she innocently blinked as she smiled.
Annie was dumb folded as to how cute and so innocent this little girls smile was. Putting words together ,she knew this little girl was Sebastian's daughter and from what she could remember she's 5 years old today. Looking keenly at the little girl, all she could do was smile..... Miriam was smart, cute and has a bright eyes which makes her likable.
"" But you came late " the birthday party is already over " Mariam said with both hands around her waist .
" Is it ? " she asked smiling.
" Miriam, go to your room now " Sebastian spoke from behind.
" Daddy , aunty Annie came late ....
"Don't worry about aunt Annie , daddy will sort things out " he said as he carried her up.
"You just have to rest , today was stressful wasn't it " Sebastian asked tickling her.
" It was " Miriam said as she let out a soft laugh.
" Won't mummy read for me ? Miriam asked turning to face her mum.
"" I will make it up to you ,baby I promise "" she said raising her three fingers.
She watched Sebastian take Miriam upstairs until he was out of sight...few minutes later, Sebastian came down heading towards the single sofa where Belinda was seated which was different from the rest. He sat partially on the sofa handle as he gesture Annie to take a seat.
" Why now " Belinda spoke first in a cold tone directing the question to Annie.
" The right time for the right news " she replied as she relaxed comfortably stretching both hands on the pillows that was within her reach.
" What do you want " Sebastian asked scratching his head.
" I want a fair share for our son " Annie smirked.
" But I have been giving you money " Sebastian fired back .
" As you can see , it's not enough " she said folding both hands.
" He also needs the presence of his father "
and that money cannot get " Annie slammed .
" What do you want exactly " Belinda spoke this time as she stood up to pour water from the jar that was on top of the side table.
" My son needs a blood transfusion " she replied.
"And you know what that implies " she said teasingly .
The medical field in Colton has some rigid rule and the issue of blood transfusion is not left out. The presence of the parent are highly needed as the father play a substantial role even after been discharged .
"I won't fall for this little scheme of yours " Sebastian said with clear warning in his voice .
" Wow ! Annie said as she jam both hands repeatedly.
" Was it my scheming when you were riding on top of me " Annie shouted.
"Or was it also me , when you were literally begging for more , drooling as you enjoyed every path of it " annie scoffed .
" I can't get enough of you! "
" I need more!! "
should I continue ? Annie teasingly asked.
" well nobody will buy those silly excuse of you think I was your wife " she snorted.
Belinda clenched her fist trying to control the anger that was boiling within her. On the other hand was the cloud of doubt that was hovering around her mind..... " where they lovers ?? ... these were the thoughts in her mind as those excuse he gave her shows to have loopholes..... she rack her brain for answers that will suit her bleeding heart. All what her mind could whisper was " another woman did what she couldn't do ".... she also couldn't take away the fact that the child the woman was carrying belongs to Sebastian's and that was what hurt her the most.
" Let him stay with us and I promise to take care of him as my own " Belinda finally said facing the both of them.
Are you trying to shut me out from my son's life ? she sneered.
" No am not trying to do such " Belinda stammered.
" Just trying to proffer solution to this impending situation " Belinda added.
" Create a space for me and my son in this house while he gets his treatment because I have come to stay " she retorted
" I will do no such thing " Sebastian slammed.
" Then I should turn to the media, Annie chipped in.
" They will definitely believe the story of a poor secretary who was raped by her boss and now has a son for him " she snorted.
" Oh how lovely it is by just thinking about it " Annie chuckled.
" The headlines will be in every media house in Colton " She continued.
" And you know whose image is going down the drain " she sneered.
" You will do no such thing " Sebastian furiously said.
" Then I guess it is settled " Annie said smiling.
having worked with Annie, Sebastian knew the kind of person she was, and knows she doesn't speak empty words and whatever she wants she goes the extra mind to do it.
Belinda wasn't satisfied, but nothing she could do . One thing she knows about her husband is that he loves his image and what people feels about him.
