Chapter 4 - The First Universe Transfer

While looking at her Character Creation and Customization screen, Kate murmured to herself, "Looks like this is indeed worth it, but it will need a long time." Sighing, she decided, "I should go to sleep." She slept throughout the night, and when she woke up the next day, she started practicing the Tempered Body Record for half an hour.

After practicing, Kate headed to the lake behind Yang Kai's shed, contemplating her next steps. "Yang Kai is probably cleaning now; I'll just wait for him," she said as she laid down on the grass beside the lake. She pondered the implications of the Character Creation and Customization system. "The system allows me to customize myself entirely my blood, my body, even my bones but it requires resources. Unlike the normal way, where you need a full inheritance to have a dragon body, I only need a part of a dragon to get a dragon body," she mused.

"For now, I have the Golden Skeleton," she continued thinking to herself. "I only practiced the Tempered Body Record for the first time and yet I broke through to the 4th stage of the Body Tempering Realm."

"You're already at the 4th stage?" Yang Kai's voice startled her as he stood beside her.

Kate sat up, looking at Yang Kai with a smile. "Yes, it seems so. Practicing My Technique has accelerated my cultivation."

Yang Kai seemed impressed but curious. "That's quite a rapid advancement. Are you using some special method?"

Kate nodded. "You could say that. It's a unique technique I possess."

Yang Kai sat down beside her, his curiosity piqued. "I see. I have to admit, your progress is astonishing. What are your plans now?"

"For now, I don't have any plans," Kate said, trying to sound nonchalant. Suddenly, she saw letters materializing in front of her, reading, "Hey, looks like I'll be busy in the coming years, so I'll activate the curse now, which is the Manual Copy of your Void Archives. Good luck."

Kate's anger flared, and she shouted at the memory of the mysterious woman she had met, "YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?! I'LL GET STRONGER AND HUNT YOU DOWN MYSELF!!" Her outburst startled Yang Kai.

"Hey, what's going on?" Yang Kai asked, concerned.

Kate took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "It's nothing, haha," she replied, forcing a smile. "Anyways, where were you? Why did you take so long?"

"Oh, I bought some food," Yang Kai said, holding up a bag.

"I see," Kate replied, nodding. After a moment's pause, she said, "Yang Kai?"

"What is it?" he responded, looking at her curiously.

"I have a heaven-defying ability that can copy anything. The copied version is exactly the same as the original; it's not weaker at all. So, if you have a treasure, let me copy it, okay?" Kate said, trying to sound casual but knowing the potential danger of revealing her ability.

Yang Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "Is that real?" he asked, skepticism evident in his voice.

"Yes, I'll show you if you have something good," Kate replied confidently, hoping to gain his trust.

Yang Kai thought for a moment and then nodded. "Okay then."

"Then I'll go back now," Kate said, bidding farewell to Yang Kai.

"See you next time," Yang Kai replied, waving her off.

As Kate approached her temporary house, she noticed a group of disciples gathered around. Their presence piqued her curiosity. "What are you doing here, fellow disciples?" she asked.

A determined-looking female disciple stepped forward. "I'm here to challenge you," she declared.

"I see. Okay then," Kate replied calmly, readying herself.

"Kate Apocalypse, Body Tempering Realm, 4th Stage," she declared, her voice steady and confident.

"Zhou Qin, Body Tempering Realm, 5th Stage," the challenger announced with a smirk. "Looks like you're quite talented. You were at the 1st stage yesterday, and now you're at the 4th stage. But it's not enough to defeat someone like me."

With that, Zhou Qin dashed toward Kate, her movements swift and aggressive. Kate, however, was prepared. She opened four Gates and summoned Enkidu, the chains of heaven, to restrain Zhou Qin's four limbs.

"WHAT?!" Zhou Qin shouted, her eyes wide with shock as the golden chains held her in place.

The crowd gasped in astonishment. "Is this the rumored Special Body Constitution?" someone whispered.

Kate walked toward the immobilized Zhou Qin and stood in front of her. "Release me!" Zhou Qin demanded, struggling against the chains.

Ignoring her command, Kate used all her power to punch Zhou Qin in the stomach. The force was immense, but Zhou Qin's body, strengthened by her cultivation, absorbed the blow.

"Looks like your body is quite strong," Kate observed.

"It will take more than that to bring someone from the 5th Stage of the Body Tempering Realm down," a voice from the crowd commented.

"I see," Kate replied, unfazed. She gestured with her hand, and a Gate opened to her right, revealing a large hammer. The sight of the weapon caused the crowd to murmur in disbelief.

"Wha- What is this technique?" Zhou Qin stammered, her bravado faltering.

Kate sighed and commanded the hammer to strike. The weapon flew toward Zhou Qin, hitting her with a tremendous force and sending her crashing into a nearby tree. The impact rendered Zhou Qin unconscious, her body slumped against the tree trunk.

"It's good that I weakened it," Kate thought, relieved that she had held back just enough to avoid causing serious injury.

The crowd was stunned into silence, then erupted into murmurs of awe and confusion. Kate's display of power and control had left a strong impression on them.

"Who is she, really?" someone wondered aloud.

Ignoring the whispers, Kate turned and headed back to her temporary house. She had more important things to focus on, like mastering her new abilities and uncovering the full potential of the Void Archives. She also had to keep an eye on the mysterious woman who seemed to be manipulating events from the shadows.

But for now, she was content with the knowledge that she had made a strong impression on the High Heaven Pavilion and that she had the power to back it up. With a resolute mind, Kate entered her Temporary house.

Kate's excitement bubbled over as she danced around her temporary abode. "THAT WAS SO COOL! IT FELT AMAZING!" she exclaimed, her movements animated and her voice filled with elation. With each step and gesture, she reveled in the thrill of her recent exploits, feeling a rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins.

As Kate continued her exuberant celebration, she couldn't help but feel a sense of liberation. For the first time in a long while, she was free to express herself without reservation, embracing the sheer joy of her newfound abilities.

Lost in the moment, Kate twirled and spun, her laughter ringing out in the quiet confines of her temporary home. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated happiness, and she savored every second of it.

Mid-celebration, Kate suddenly became aware of the peculiar movements and sounds she was making in her excitement. With a sheepish grin, she straightened up and cleared her throat, a hint of embarrassment coloring her cheeks.

Taking a moment to compose herself, Kate recognized the need to rein in her exuberance and maintain a sense of decorum. She paused, taking a deep breath to steady herself before resuming a more composed posture.

"Okay, maybe I got a little carried away," Kate admitted to herself with a chuckle. "Time to dial it back and act a bit more normal."

With a renewed sense of self-awareness, Kate continued her celebration with a touch more restraint, still basking in the glow of her recent triumphs but mindful of her surroundings.

"After all that excitement, it's time to focus," Kate said to herself, regaining her composure. "I'm using my Universe Leaf Transfer."

As she spoke, five cards materialized in front of her, each one representing a potential destination. Kate studied them carefully, weighing her options before making her decision.

"Alright, let's see what we've got here," Kate mused as she examined the five cards laid out before her.

The first card read "I'm an Evil God."

The second card bore the title "Overlord."

Next was the card labeled "Date a Live."

Following that was the fourth card, marked "Honkai Impact 3rd."

Lastly, there was the fifth card, simply stating "Against the Gods."

"Hmm, seems like quite the selection," Kate remarked, her gaze flickering between the options. "But isn't the last one just a repeat? Oh well, let's go with it anyway." With a decisive nod, she declared, "I pick the 5th card."

As soon as she uttered her choice, the floor beneath her cracked and shattered like glass, sending Kate tumbling down.

As Kate fell into the pitch-black void, she braced herself for impact. Suddenly, the darkness gave way to blinding light, and she crashed onto the ground with a thud. "A Descender!" a voice exclaimed. As she struggled to gather her bearings, she spotted a child with fiery red hair approaching. "Jasmine?" Kate uttered in disbelief. "How did you know my name?" Jasmine demanded, her tone hostile. "I'll kill you since you know me," she threatened.

"Wait, wait, wait," Kate pleaded, sensing the imminent danger. "I'm an Archivist from the Outside. Someone sent me here to get a copy of the Heretic God's Blood," she explained hastily, hoping to defuse the tense situation.

"Did you just call the Evil god a Heretic?" Jasmine questioned, her expression a mix of curiosity and suspicion. "Anyways, please show it to me so I can leave as soon as possible," Kate requested, hoping to fulfill her mission swiftly.

"Why should I trust you?" Jasmine countered, her tone still wary.

"Well, that is..." Kate faltered, caught off guard by the directness of the question.

"You said you'll copy it?" Jasmine pressed on, her eyes narrowing in scrutiny.

"Yes, because I need to put it in the Archive," Kate explained, hoping to convey her sincerity.

"How will you copy it?" Jasmine inquired further, her skepticism evident.

"Every Archivist has the ability to copy anything," Kate replied confidently, reassuring Jasmine of her capability.

"Here," Jasmine relented, showing Kate the blood of the Heretic God.

Kate aimed her hand towards the blood and started to copy it, her focus intense as she channeled her Void Archive's abilities. Jasmine observed in astonishment as another blood materialized in Kate's other hand, identical to the original.

"She can really copy it?" Jasmine marveled silently, unable to detect the energy Kate was utilizing.

After some time, Kate declared, "Done!" Grateful for Jasmine's cooperation, she added, "Thanks for your cooperation. Now you can continue."

Jasmine wasted no time and implanted the copied blood directly into Yun Che. "The blood of the Evil God will consume your current power and build a new set of meridians, so it's perfect for you," Jasmine explained to Yun Che, ensuring he understood the transformative power of the blood he was receiving.

Kate observed Yun Che's suffering, realizing that the pain he experienced wasn't adequately portrayed in the manhua. "I can't really hear their conversation because I stepped back to not disturb them," Kate thought to herself, recalling Yun Che's ability to unlock his own meridians. "I should ask him to unlock mine too."

After some time, once Jasmine and Yun Che had finished their exchange, Kate approached them. She saw Jasmine enter Yun Che's right hand, recognizing it as a divine item.

"You haven't left yet?" Yun Che asked as Kate neared them.

"My business is not done yet," Kate replied. "I also want you to unlock mine once I absorb the blood," she added, surprising Yun Che.

"You too?" Yun Che exclaimed.

"Yes, so please, can you?" Kate asked earnestly.

"Okay, I'll do it," Yun Che agreed.

Kate opened her Character Creation and Customization Screen and placed the blood on the Meridian Option. Instantly, she was engulfed in excruciating pain, causing her to cry out and bleed profusely. Sensing her distress, Yun Che swiftly used acupuncture needles to unlock her meridians.

After an hour of intense suffering, Kate lay exhausted, trying to catch her breath. "Finally, it's over," she said, relieved.

"Indeed. What are you planning now?" Yun Che asked.

"I'll copy the Sky Poison Pearl first," Kate replied.

"You can even copy it?" Yun Che asked in amazement.

"Yes, I can. But before I do, can I make a request?" Yun Che inquired.

"What is it?" Kate responded.

"Can you copy another one?" Yun Che requested. "I'll give it to Jasmine as a thanks."

"I can do it, but are you sure?" Kate asked cautiously.

"Yes, I'm sure. I'll give it to Jasmine as a thanks," Yun Che confirmed.

"Okay then, come here and give me both of your hands," Kate instructed Yun Che.
