Chapter 33 - Chapter 25

Hadrian was happy with his life and watched as Susan snuggled into him, just then someone knocked on the door.

So they lived in great joy and if ever they remembered their life in this world it was only as one remembers a dream. And one year it fell out that Tumnus, who was a middle-aged Faun by now and beginning to be stout came down river and brought them news that the White Stag had once more appeared in his parts - the White Stag who would give you wishes if you caught him. So these two Kings and two Queens with the principal members of their court, rode a-hunting with horns and hounds in the Western Woods to follow the White Stag. And they had not hunted long before they had a sight of him. And he led them a great pace over rough and smooth and through thick and thin, till the horses of all the courtiers were tired out and these four were still following. And they saw the stag enter into a thicket where their horses could not follow. Then

The Hunt for the White Stag as the four adult Pevensies are riding horses through the woods. They're after the White Stag galloped infort of them, it was swift liken the wind.

There raced through the autumn, forest. The hooves of there ebony steed pounded against a muddy dirt road as they urged it onward.

The autumn comes with regal ease, content to arrive with slow grace. Though the first leaves have tumbled to the soil so rich with rain, most remain green, fluttering in the strengthening wind. And so, though it is wishing for that garland of reds and golds, we must be as patient as she.

The siblings were all wearing their crowns. But Edmund soon slows down, while the others gallop off, he was worried about his horse companion Philip and asked"Are you all right, Philip?"

Philip took a deep breath and replied"I'm not as young as I once was."

Susan on her horse returns to Edmund and said"Come on, Ed."

Edmund simply replied "Just catching my breath."

Susan frowned and said" That's all we'll catch at this rate."

Now Peter and Lucy, as Lucy added"What did he say again, Susan?"

Susan with a mocking tone said"You girls wait in the castle.I'll get the stag myself."

They all laugh, while Susan said"Come one we have to get back before Hadrian arrives."

Edmund rolled his eyes and said"We know you miss your husband."

Peter and Lucy chuckled they knew these two were inseparable, Lucy wished for patner like that.

While Susan just huffed and didn't deny she missed Hadrian. As Peter questioned"Where did he go anyway?"

Susan shrugged and answered"I don't know Something about meeting a magician."

Peter noticed something and it was very familiar , he gets off his horse and said"What's this?"

It was the lamp post, they all dismount and walks toward the lamp post, now covered in vines, up the post. It felt really familiar to them. But they just couldn't put a finger on it.

Susan in disbelief said"As if from a dream."

Lucy added"Or a dream of a dream...."she suddenly remembered something and continued "Spare Oom."

Lucy then quickly runs off, while the sibling quickly follow her with Peter yelling out to her"

Lucy!"

Susan frowned and said"Not again."

So these Kings and Queens entered the thicket, and before they had gone a score of paces they all remembered that the thing they had seen was called a lamppost, and before they had gone twenty more they noticed that they were.

Peter was worried and didn't want Lucy to get lost"Lu?"

Lucy was still excited and turning back gestured them to follow"Come on!"

The branches get denser. But soon they were making their way not through branches but through coats.

Peter noticed it and said"These aren't branches."

Edmund was in pain"Ow! Ooh!"

Susan started remembering bits and pieces muttered"They're coats."

Edmund felt Susan step on his door and yelled in

pain"Susan, you're on my foot! "

The place started get more stuffy, Lucy yelled at Peter"Peter, move off!"

They did not notice there voices change to those of children. And next moment they all came tumbling out of a wardrobe door into the empty room, and They were no longer Kings and Queens in their hunting array but just Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy in their old clothes. It was the same day and the same hour of the day on which they had all gone into the wardrobe to hide.

They look at themselves, each other and then the door as the Professor walks in. and seeing the children smiled and said"Oh! There you are."

He then questioned"What were you all doing in the wardrobe?"

The four glance at each other and Peter said" You wouldn't believe us if we told you, sir."

Professor throws cricket ball to Peter and with a grin said"Try me."
