Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: LUCY IS KIDNAPPED!!!

When Sam, Lucy, George and Nancy went home, Mr Anderson was not there. George said

"See, I told you that our parents were going to meet somewhere" George said in his pretend grown up voice.

"Somehow I don't think our parents are going to meet anywhere and you know my premonitions are always right" Sam said worriedly for he had a special gift for feeling things before they happened.

Lucy, Nancy and George began to feel concerned. All of a sudden, it happened, Sam stood frozen to the spot as if he were hypnotized. He didn't even blink. He began to see a window in front of him, like a kind of portal only he could see. He felt himself walking towards the portal in a manner of speaking for he was actually standing still. All of a sudden, there was a storm, dark clouds gathered in front of Sam and as he watched, there was a lightning bolt which flashed across the Sky, then he heard the voice of the Lord Of Light(His Hope) saying.

"The time has come for the evil to rise" then he looked up and saw two red eyes illuminating the Sky, he heard a window shatter and he saw Tarantella grab Lucy and disappear through another portal which looked like a group of rings that had the shape of a Whirlwind viewed from above.

Then all of a sudden, Sam snapped back to reality. He looked totally horrified and his hair was on edge. He gasped as if he had stayed under water for too long and had just resurfaced. George asked Sam what he saw but Sam was too shocked to speak. He couldn't even look at George. After a while, Sam came back to his senses. He had just had a horrible vision. He began to speak slowly. He told George, Lucy and Nancy that he would tell them what he saw later. They were really concerned because how Sam looked when he was having the vision was really horrible. George had told him that he looked like he had just seen a ghost but when Sam replied that it was more than that, George seemed more concerned than calm.

That evening, as Sam, Lucy, George and Nancy were going to their room, it happened again. As Sam walked near the door, he suddenly began to slow down and then he looked at the door hard. As he reached for the door and opened it, a storm suddenly came again but this time after seeing Tarantella kidnap Lucy, he saw her stop in mid-air. She suddenly turned into Sam's father and then turned back into herself again. Then she gave a shrill, crony laugh and disappeared into the portal but before the portal could disappear, Sam along with George, John and Nancy leapt into it. In the portal, Sam saw Lucy, his parents, John and George's parents all imprisoned in a dark castle. Then all of a sudden, a strange force began to pull Sam, John, George and Nancy back out of the portal and whisked them back into Lucy's room. Then all of a sudden, there was a bright light and the Lord Of Light (Sam's Hope) appeared and said to Sam.

"You have a rare gift Sam. The children of the Anderson Family are the only hope the world has" then he disappeared.

Sam felt himself being whisked back out of the portal which started the vision till he saw himself standing at the entrance to the portal from which the vision came. He snapped back to reality. When he snapped back to reality, he saw his cousins George and Nancy looking at him along with his sister Lucy. When they were in Sam's room, Sam looked sad, then he looked angry.

"Tarantella is going to make her first move tomorrow night" Sam said. "She is going to…" and then Sam began to stammer angrily.

He repeated the sentence.

"She is going to kidnap Lucy" Sam said looking sad again.

Everybody gasped in shock, then they looked concerned but surprisingly, Lucy was less shocked than everyone else and George seemed more shocked and angrier than everyone else because Lucy was his favourite cousin. The reason she was his favourite cousin was because they both joined together to often play pranks on Sam. Sam however was Nancy's favourite cousin because she admired his wisdom and his high sense of humour. The surprising thing was that Sam never fell for the pranks George and Lucy played and they now understood why. Lucy at first did not believe Sam but seeing how he looked during the visions he saw and the dreams they had, she soon began to feel concerned as well. Sam also told them that he saw that Tarantella had kidnapped all their parents and the Mr Anderson with glowing red eyes and a crony voice was Tarantella. Everyone was shocked at what Sam said.

That night, the cousins slept together in peace without any nightmares. There was a feeling of happiness and affection in the air but the cousins knew that it wouldn't last for long for Tarantella had devised an evil plan. She would kidnap Lucy and use her as a lure to capture him or even better, eliminate him. Tarantella stared at the teens through her crystal ball from another world (the underworld).

The next day was Saturday. Sam slept so well like he hadn't since the dreams began. He didn't want to wake up so early in the morning. He couldn't even hear the alarm clock ring when it was time for him to wake up. Sam felt a tap on his shoulder. He woke up to see the faces of George, Lucy, Nancy and John.

"John?" Sam said sleepily.

"Yeah sleepy head. My parents brought me here since they were travelling to meet your parents" at those words Sam sprang up from bed.

George and the others gasped.

"It can't be" George said in utter shock.

Soon John began to tell Sam about the strange behavior of his parents and George also cut in saying that that was the same way his parents behaved and Sam agreed. Sam then told John about his visions and told him fair and square to the face that they were cousins. John looked shocked and then he looked doubtful but after Sam told him that if he was no Anderson then he wouldn't have had those strange dreams, John looked happy and satisfied. He told Sam that he had considered the possibility of them being cousins. Sam also looked happy and satisfied. He was happy that he and John were cousins but he wasn't happy about the strange things that were going on with their parents.

Sam got up from bed and went to change his clothes. Then he went downstairs for breakfast. The day was very bright. The Sun was up and the garden seemed like a very nice place to play. There were butterflies flying about and even Sam's dog, Skittles and Lucy's cat Snowy who had a lot of white fur were playing together in the garden. Everybody forgot about Tarantella. It was very difficult to believe that she would even try to kidnap Lucy until they saw Mr Anderson. Sam knew that he was Tarantella in disguise but he acted as if he didn't.

"Hi kids" Mr Anderson who looked really smart in his black suit and bow tie called.

"I'm going to visit my manager Mr Hilton and I will be back very late in the evening because it seems my assistant Miss Rosy is having some problems with the shooting" Sam's father said seriously.

Sam watched as his so-called father Mr Anderson entered his car and sped off in a hurry. Sam looked angry and concerned as he watched his so-called father. He turned to look at Lucy and began to recall the times she played tricks on him along with George but he knew that he couldn't afford to lose his own sister. He felt very sad and began to have flashbacks. Seeing Lucy playing with George and Nancy happily as though nothing was going to happen made him even sadder.

He didn't notice John coming towards him.

"Hey Sam, what are you thinking about. You look like a Dreamer" John tried to cheer Sam up.

"Nothing" Sam answered. "It's just that I can't believe Tarantella is going to kidnap Lucy".

John looked at Sam, then he looked at Lucy and said,

"I understand what you mean. Lucy seems to think that nothing is going to happen. She is unusually calm".

"Yeah" said Sam. "I just can't believe that Tarantella…"

"You mean Tarantula" John cut him short with a joke.

"Yeah, whatever. I just can't believe she could go this far but seeing how clumsy she was I think that we can outsmart her just as I did" said Sam a little proud of what he had just said.

"Hey Sam" George called from behind.

They hadn't noticed that he had crept behind them and was very interested in the utterance of the last sentence.

"Why don't we get your Tarantula and hide in Lucy's room and wait for Tarantella and when she is about to kidnap Lucy, we will throw it at her face and in her panic she will fall from her broomstick. A Tarantula will be the perfect remedy for Tarantella" said George enthusiastically.

At this they all burst into uncontrollable laughter. The girls thought they had gone mad since they knew that Tarantella would strike during the night.

"I think it will be much better if we threw your golden crucifix with full force into her face" Sam said jokingly since he knew how George always wanted to be near it.

At the sight of George's serious face, Sam looked at John's face and they both burst out laughing.

"At least that will be better than a Tarantula" John said and the boys laughed louder and harder than ever.

That afternoon, as the family of Andersons were busily talking, Sam had another vision in which he saw the Lord Of Light unlocking their secret powers. He saw himself holding the hands of the Anderson team (the children of the Andersons) and flying with them into the portal of rings after Lucy had been kidnapped. The Lord Of Light showed him each of their special powers. Lucy was given the power to create Light in a time of darkness, Sam was given the power to sense anything before it happened and to ford off the powers of the enemy. John was given the power to call for help and communicate with any living creature on Earth while George could use the powers of Light created by Lucy to protect them. Nancy could direct them to their destination. Suddenly as the vision had come, it was gone and Sam snapped back to reality. He was now used to the visions and the others could no longer tell that he was having visions.

When he told them of the vision from start to end, he concluded by saying

"You didn't think the powers of Light would leave us to face evil alone did you?" he said as if he had known of their special powers all along.

"Well, we are now aware of our special powers but what we don't know is how to use them" Nancy who was paying close attention to every word Sam was saying said.

That night as Team Anderson, as they now called themselves were planning how to capture Tarantella, they heard Mr Anderson's car pull up the parking lot and then Sam whispered.

"Get ready".

Meanwhile, outside, Tarantella disguised in Mr Anderson's appearance had arrived at Sam's house. She called Carlane her evil assistant and told him to prepare the stakes and also a sleeping potion with which she would induce her victims to sleep but forever.

"And one more thing…" she cackled.

"Be sure to inform the Lord Of Darkness about this move that I am about to make. I want him to see how smart I am" she said with a pretend smile which was a horrible sight as she had a rather numerous pair of little teeth which were totally out of place and her evil eyes seemed to glow menacingly and last of all, she had an evil curl at the sides of her mouth.

Then she began to change her appearance into that of her real ugly self.

Meanwhile, Sam, George, Nancy and John were hiding in the wardrobe and waited with the intention of rescuing Lucy from Tarantella. Then there was a thunderclap all of a sudden and a streak of lightning which illuminated the sky and as Sam peered through a little hole in the wardrobe, he saw the tall dark outline of Tarantella. All of a sudden, a window shattered and there was a scream and then Tarantella seized Lucy and was about to take her away when Sam, John, George and Nancy bounded out of their hiding places. Nancy was very fast and grabbed Lucy's hand first, then George grabbed Nancy's hand, John held George's hand and Sam held John's hand. It was now a tug of War between the Andersons and Tarantella for Lucy. Tarantella proved to be amazingly strong and then a most unfortunate thing happened, far worse than Lucy being kidnapped. George suddenly let go of Nancy's hand in the struggle and both girls were taken away leaving the boys desperately shouting their names.

As if things couldn't get worse, the portal from which Tarantella used to enter another world was far off but this couldn't stop Sam. He suddenly grabbed George and John's hands and leapt through the window. Fortunately, the window wasn't very high up so and they landed on the soft grass below. They began to chase after Tarantella but alas she was quicker on her broomstick. But as the boys chased after her, they felt something new awaken in them and leapt into the skies. They were flying! Unbelievably, they were gaining on Tarantella and they disappeared into the portal right after her.
