Every member of the guild knows not to bother her this early in the morning. And yet, Hope found herself contemplating murder in the face of this oddity. Utterly unbecoming of a paladin, she knows. But she's only human, surely her God will forgive her for fantasizing about committing a crime.
"No."
"Aww, why not?" the other girl pouted and Hope's glare faltered at the adorable—no! focus. Stop staring at the annoyingly gorgeous woman in front of you.
"Because I'm not interested in dying prematurely." Hope's life plan has been to build up her wealth, buy an island, build a cosy home, get a dog, and then die in her bed after living a long, fulfilling life.
There was nothing there that says to follow a gorgeous, but definitely, crazy woman to find the Holy Grail. Rumoured to be guarded by a vicious dragon and its endless supply of under minions.
Nope. No way in the seven hells will she do this.
The blonde laughed and Hope cursed the butterflies that fluttered in her stomach. "We're not going to die, silly. I'll have you with me."
God give her strength. Beautiful, annoyingly charming, and crazy. It's like this girl was sent to torment her personally.
"Listen, whatever your name is—"
"I'm Soliel but my friends call me Sol so you should too." The blonde gave her a sunny grin. Hope prayed. Of course, this beam of sunshine is named after the sun god himself.
"Alright, Sol." Hope puts on her most serious face. At least she hopes it is and not her 'I'm seriously attracted to you' face. "I love my life. Unless you give me a valid reason to join this crazy quest of yours, I'm out."
She moved to stand up but freezes when the blonde held her wrist. "Wait, please." Hope sat down. Pathetic, really. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me yet. You have five minutes to explain."
"I'm Crown Princess Soliel Eustace Von Dracon and I need the Holy Grail to cure father's curse."
Oh. Figures. The one time that she was attracted to someone, they turned out to be a princess.
"I hope you know I'm not going to kneel."
"As long as you help me, I don't care."
"Fine. Meet me at the Plaza tomorrow at dawn. Don't be late."
The newly revealed princess cheered, her smile rivalling the sun in its brightness. The blonde threw herself at Hope like the table is not even there. "Thank you!"
Her heart palpitates and damn, this is so bad for her heart. This girl is going to be the death of her.
