*Amber's POV*
I've been the most precious gift my parents had since birth, although my family were well off but still ordinary people with no title attached to them.
Even then my household dominated the entire community in terms of acknowledgement and importance. I wasn't still sure about the reason maybe it pertained to their numerous contributions to the growth of our City.
Uhhhhhgg today is the D-day I thought annoyingly my parents would have turned the City upside down to give me a grand celebration. After all I was their one and only beautiful daughter of whom they were pleased with.
Things were different now though we are still well off however my loving parents died three years ago in a brutal car accident.
I had cried my eyes out and refused to eat for days in which I sobered back to reality immediately Aunt Rosy offered to be in charge of the household and also my guardian. She was a fastidious woman that I've been living in my own house like a guest since the day she arrived. Although I was still being treated like a beautiful spoilt princess by the staffs and all.
I dared not disobey my Aunt Rosy openly. Most times, I missed my parents and would often cry silently at midnight in the comfort of my large bed. They were the best parents ever.
Enough of all this. Guests were probably trooping in already and I had to get prepared. Then I smiled as a thought crossed my mind.
I, Amber Daves gracious in style, beautiful beyond measures and elegant in dresses was going to grace the people with my beautiful presence on my eighteenth birthday celebration.
I had always been the most prettiest infant as of then,Nanny Elsa told me all about it.
How the staffs were overwhelmed by the newly born baby's beauty and waited to take turns in carrying her into their arms.
I was priceless and the pride of my household.
I knew I was the most beautiful young girl in my community that's a given. Anf I was also very aware of the jealousy they harbored towards me.
I heard the door open and quickly calculated that it could be my Aunt Rosy so I snappily slipped into the bathroom locking the door behind me.I turned on the water system in my bathtub to ensure she heard some activity. I had always tried as much possible not to run into her unnecessarily. She was irritable.

*Nanny Elsa's POV*
"My poor Amber" I thought pitifully
She still hasn't gotten used to her Aunt Rosy's strict personality even when her parents died. I had dreaded that my pretty Amber's trauma would affect her mental health but it didn't fortunately Ms Rosy took up the responsibility to cater for her.
As much as I had hated the stern look Ms Rosy always put on to even the delicate pitiful Amber of then. I was still grateful because my little girl came through after that.Sometimes I admired her courage as to how she managed to continue being a cheerful and bright child.
And now she had locked herself up thinking Ms Rosy was approaching instead.

"Amber my darling how long do you intend to be in there you are going to be late for your own party." I called out to her knowing too well that she wasn't having her bath supposedly.
I went on to her closet my eyes darting across her dresses and I was beginning to feel dizzy as usual. Who sets up a boutique for a little girl in her room space? Ms Rosy was just something.
Her clothes were numerous that I was quite sure she couldn't wear all before the year came to an end.
"Nanny Elsa! it's you thank goodness I didn't want to face the wrath of Auntie for not keeping to time. To be honest I feel bad you know I broke the precious gift you gave to me that year." Amber said coming out of the bathroom still in her night dress. She strolled towards me before settling on her bed.
I smiled sweetly at her leaving the closet to squat in front of her then held her soft white hands into mine.
"It's okay pumpkin. It's only a mirror. I'll get you another one. Now stop being so mushy you should put on a happy face because today is only about you my pretty princess hmmmm let's get my lil Missy ready." I said reassuringly to lighten up the atmosphere and to get her in a good mood.
"You don't understand Nanny that mirror is not just precious but special you know and I mean extra extra special. It's not an ordinary piece of glass and I saw two of me in there." She said searching my eyes to check if I was convinced.
I wasn't sure why she kept on blabbing on about the broken mirror, and seeing a double reflection of herself.
Soon after we heard Peggy bark faintly then it kept on going that was when I realized the signal. We were the only ones aware of the signal.
Auntie! Ms Rosy! we both blurted out at once.
"Smart doggy you saw her through the window didn't you?" I asked the dog rhetorically with a pleased expression.
"Nanny Elsa I'll get dressed myself just help me cause a distraction. I don't want to be scolded by her it'll ruin my mood and that's the last thing I want today." She leaped off her bed nearly running to her closet. She quickly tied her long silky black hair to the back tracing her fingers along her dresses.Turning back she stared at me, her blue eyes seemed shocked.
"Nanny you're still here???" She asked me in a surprised tone. I also didn't know what made me still stand there. I jolted back to the presence as if I had been in a trance.
"Oh sorry dear I don't know what's gotten into me. I'll divert her attention but please hurry pumpkin." I said hurriedly going to towards the door before it got whooshed behind me I briefly heard Amber's voice trailing off,Peggy still barking and laughter.
"Get off the window Peggy you don't want to get in Auntie's bad book Oh yea you think so too...." My little girl's laughter echoed in the hallways I smiled again.
