Chapter 1 - chapter 1

Not this one, ehhh. "To Kill a Mocking Bird"? Bah read that one already. Let's see, ooh "A Magician's Slave"? I bring the book back to my table, and set it down; the thin pages blow out a thick fog of century-old dust. The dust fills my lungs. I'm unable to breathe, and my eyes start to water. Fuck, how old is this book!? I opened the first page and I immediately fell nausea. The yellowed paper felt like it could turn into dust at any moment. The paper was thick but soft, as if it was just soaked in a bowl of ice-cold water and pulled out before any major damage could occur. I felt a huge wave of nausea and my eyes felt as if someone was pouring hot molten sand into them, my vision turned a rancid yellow and fading to black.

I awoke in a white room, a doctor in a milk-colored gown looming over me as if he was the devil in disguise, judging me on my death day. In his hands were two metal instruments; I couldn't tell what they were as my vision was too blurry, but whatever they were, they were sharp and sharp things scared me. My father was a carpenter and he owed a variety of sharp things when I misbehaved sometimes he would threaten me with them saying that I'm not worth a god damn shit, and he should slit my throat right there right then. His wife was a kind woman often submissive in fear of her child's life and of her own. She had eventually broken out of the marriage but still suffered the scars of abuse both physically and mentally and me of the same

The doctors knives were thin and glimmering, they showed as if they were the eyes of a meat-hungry timber wolf ready to pounce at any moment, but I didn't care anymore I was too tired and messed up of whatever weird drugs the men in the gowns were shooting me. The man to the left of me suddenly broke the silence he threw his head back and started to laugh his voice hoarse and deep like the Santa Clause my mother used to tell me about. he then spoke with voice just as deep and raspy as his devilish laugh.

"This one outta be worth us at least 6 ceria to a high paying wizard."

The doctor to my right nodded towards his direction, chuckling. A sudden a surge of pain shoots me in the left side of my chest like I'd just been shot by a double barrel at point blank I tried to move my legs and arms, but they wouldn't budge; they felt like they were tied down by thick electrical wire, but when I lifted my head to see, a purple hue shrouded my belly holding me down tight the men were taken aback by my sudden try for freedom, the one on my left shouted in some language unknown to me and I felt my eyelids closing and my pain subside, I had been put unconscious once again
