Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

''It's a shame they won't receive the benefits from my new talents drawn from the rewards.''

Zach scanned through them and also realised something, the descendants will only have the talents that they received before their deaths.

So Zachs children in his first life that died before him would only have the Farming +1 Talent while the ones at the end of the West Families reign will have High Physical strength and other talents!

''There is still one more day before the tournament, I have enough time to complete one more life before it starts!''

''But first let's use the Talent Draws!''

Zach stared excitedly at the rewards in his Item Bar. Although he wanted to use the Talent Doubler, it was definitely more valuable to use the Talent Draws in case he receives a rare one he wants to double!

''System use the First Talent Draw!''

[Ding]

[Reward: Thievery +1]

''Thievery? Dam it.''

Zach sighed. Thievery wasn't awful worth around 5,000 System Points. But compared to the value of the Talent Draw it was tiny.

''System use the next one!''

[Ding]

[Reward: Communication +1]

''Huh? Not bad!''

Zach smiled slightly, Communication skills are key for interpersonal relationships. They will make it much easier to advance and get good deals in shops or promotions!

''System use the final one.''

[Ding]

[Reward: Military Tactics +1]

''Huh? Nice!''

Zach smiled brightly. This was definitely the best reward. Generals are one of the most respected people in any world that advocates force.

If he had such a talent in his last descent it wouldn't just be limited to 12 Generals!

''System show me all my talents.''

[Talents: Farming (10), Physical Strength (6), Business Talent (5), Politics (4), Authority (2), Cautiousness (1), Thievery (1), Communication (1), Military Tactics (1), Longevity (1), Intelligence (1)]

''There's quite a few now!''

Zach smiled. Many of these are incredibly useful. For example politics is self explained, children learning politics will learn quicker and be able to make better descriptions.

Cautiousness will allow the descendants to think their decisions through.

And finally Authority. It will make a person more decisive, and increase the chances of your subordinates listening to you. As well assisting you making decisions.

''System use my Talent Doubler on Physical Strength.''

[Ding]

[Reward: Physical Strength +12]

Instantly Zach felt his muscles burning once again. His strength directly doubled! He felt he could fight against a dozen men on his own!

''Haha I made a good choice this time.''

Zach smiled, he decided Physical Strength instead of Military Tactics. After all, Military Tactics are all good and well, but without strength they are useless!

So between the two he decided on Physical Strength.

''I'm confident now!''

Zachs demeanour had completely changed. From those rewards alone he is definitely far superior to his classmates!

Maybe only a few members of the Elite Class could compare to him now and each of them were the descendants of at least Foundation Cultivators.

Thinking of this Zach opened the class Forum.

Hank: Haha how did you guys do with the Final result? I received three Farming Talent! In my next life I will definitely become a Rich man.

Nick: Just Farming? My youngest managed to become a pro boxer in the underground market. He made a Silver Coin every year from it and I got a Physical Strengthening attribute.

Leila: Really? That's incredible. Do you want to hang out tomorrow at the park with me?

Beth: Nick you will definitely stand a chance at winning the Familial Tournament, but where's Mikey?

Mikey: You called?

Sam: Haha the class leader has finally appeared, come on spill the beans about your life.

Mikey: Ok ok. I had over two hundred descendants in the end with one of them joining the military. He could fight four or five by himself! And I have another decent opportunity that I will use today.

Cary: Woww well done Class Leader this win is definitely yours! You should come out drinking with us!

Zach stared at it and didn't say anything. Although Mikey didn't release any information about his attributes he released the number of descendants.

200 was quite high. The number was comparable to his first descent, even if the quality can be considered lower, especially since he had dozens of strong farmers comparable to soldiers.

However Mikey still has a second life. He has clearly shown potential, and there were definitely things hidden there. After all his focus was originally intelligence it is likely he had some government officials as well.

''And I can't rule out that the other classmates also got lucky. After all, a few happy events would definitely result in their attributes seeing a large rise. If they luckily marry someone they might become royal-in-laws.''

All sorts of things can happen in the Development World, there are chances around every corner so you can't underestimate anyone.

''System start another Descent!''

With this on his mind Zach was determined to further develop. Although he believes 10,000 Descendants are enough to run Rampant, it isn't safer to have a back up.

And even after this Family Tournament, he can begin battles with people from other worlds and win Talents from them!

Finally Zach's body was covered by a light and he felt his consciousness blurring.

Once again he reappeared in front of a large set of city walls, made of solid stone with guards protecting every step.

''Huh! I was sent to a nearby City?!''

Zachs mind span trying to decide what to do.

Farming was far less popular in the City than Towns. Instead it is a group of merchants, officials and generals.

''I suppose I can join the Army!''

Zach walked into the city, his attention drawn by the bustling crowds. Many people dressed in beautiful garments, contrasting greatly to Zachs cloth outfit.

After a bit of research, Zach learnt that this is Canterbury City. Second only to the Imperial City in the Norbit Empire.

The Norbit Empire has been at war for the last century with a neighbouring kingdom and have been recruiting soldiers for decades!

''That's the next step. My Physical strength outmatches normal people by miles, and I have my Military Tactics!''

Zach was determined, instantly arriving at the enlistment office.

After a few basic tests Zach was enlisted as a basic soldier, provided a set of iron armour and began monthly training.

''General, there is a talented soldier who was recently recruited! He has outdone his entire regiment in physical tests, and is an excellent tactician.'

The General in charge of the 11th Legion heard a report.

And after half a year of joining the military Zach was recruited to become a Deputy General assisting leading a hundred thousand soldiers!

''Today we set out! We are in charge of occupying the Birding Border City.''

Zach sat behind a chair in a circular hall as a brown beard general spoke about their military plans.

Quickly the legion set off, marching towards the border city.

Within a week they met the first enemy legion.

Zach stared at the enemy legion. Thousands of soldiers lined up in shining red armour. He dismounted his horse with a smile.

''Haha! This is exciting.''

''Charge!''

He sprang forward at an incredible speed, outpacing even the general behind him. Immediately he reached the first infantry. A long metal scythe span in his hand as blood spurted up.

Although he isn't the most trained, after six months of training combined with his strength and tactics he easily rampaged in this crowd.

''Ahh when did such a monster appear!''

The battles raged on, crowds competed.

However unbeknownst to Zach, in the distance on top of a hill a Sergeant looked at him Rampaging in the soldiers.

''Is that another Player? Ordinary people wouldn't have this strength!''

The man was a short figure with a slightly ugly face. However his eyes flashed with wisdom as he stared at the battles clashing below.

He came from another world and this was his Fourth Time entering the Development world.

''This man must've entered five or six times right!''

The man was shocked. Being able to become a Deputy general at the age of 16 is an incredible achievement, he is no doubt a pride of the planet he was born on.

''Stay away, I don't want to get involved.''

The man shook, there is a punishment when you are directly eliminated by an opponent. Not only will you lose all the rewards from the descent wasting an opportunity, but you will lose one talent randomly!

It will immediately be given to your opponent, which encourages the hunting of each other. After all, you could receive something incredible if you kill them.

''Hah!''

Zach smiled with incredible happiness. His body stained with blood as he danced around slicing everyone.

However his head was also running.

''I really need to purchase a Fighting Talent.''

He sighed, he was winning just due to his strength. His actual combat experience was pitiful.

''But it's enough for now!''

Zach smirked bloodthirsty, thes scythe in his hand spun around cutting the throats of a dozen soldiers around him.

He charged forward, slicing his way through the crowds heading deeper and deeper.

''Aha your heads mine!''

Zach smirked as the General's eyes widened with fear.

''Kill him! Kill him for me!''

Elite soldiers swarmed in causing Zach a bit of trouble, but slowly he mowed his way through, a line of corpses left behind him, their eyes filled with unwillingness.

The General saw it wasn't good, his seven foot figure charged forward with bulging muscles.

Zach grasped his Scythe and spun around.

The weapons clashed as the two fought. Zach felt a pain in his chest aws the general kicked him, catching him unaware.

His combat experience couldn't compare to the forty fifty decades of the General.

But his strength was superior.

Slowly his scythe cracked the sword under his immense strength and the General crumbled. The scythe cut out quickly and soon Zach held a head in his hand.

''Your next!''

Zach felt the rush of power and dived into the higher ups in the army ruthlessly, slaying any elites that got in his way.

He mowed down head after head, regardless of whether they were generals or just officials coming to watch they were all killed.

Until Zach reached one short fellow, his sword slashing down beheading him. And as blood spurted into the sky a voice came into his head.

[Successfully Slain Player Kreig, Reward: Military Tactics +1]
