After we left the school gates, Lucy looked frightened she asked Tale and I to walk her home ,then she'd get her brother to drive us home. Tale and I agreed but on reaching the main road,we realised every shop was closed,no one not even a single soul was on the road,then we came across an abandoned car.
me: Nope,I'm not taking you home Lucy
Tale: neither am I
Lucy: People do this all the time,yhe owner is probably somewhere In one of the malls.
Lucy said poking her eyes inside the car, but I thought to myself what sicko would leave such a sweet drive ,there was something odd. Lucy then pulled a gun and pointed it at us," Look!" I smiled feebly and said," good! now you can protect yourself with that, but we...we are going back."
Lucy: c'mon guys( looking at Tale) Tale you don't wanna leave me out here do you??
But Tale didn't know what to answer to that and Lucy kept trying to convince us," we can take a shortcut from here,I know one" but Tale cut in," then we can die," Lucy tried defending her statement," Who said,( looking at the abandoned car) let's steal the car,get there faster,what do you guys says "
Tale and I looked at each other.
Lucy: I can connect the wires
Tale and I: I can drive...okay you drive...okay I'll drive...shiz!
This happened often between us. I asked Lucy to check the bunk and it was clear. we drove almost for twenty minutes before we saw the house. But before we could reach it, Lucy shouted, " Hey! that's my friend Blake"
me: And Blake looks awful ( we all laugh)
Lucy: stop...( I snatched the gun from Lucy and she looked at me)
me: what...just incase
We pulled over and Lucy talked to Blake who looked confused from the car.
Lucy: sup Blake ( Blake did not answer,instead he puked blood) what shiz( Nlake dropped to the ground hurling and groaning)
Lucy got out of the car . I had noticed Blake was sweating profusely, like he had a fever or something. Tale shouted at Lucy," Don't go close Lucy,I've seen this shit before,it don't end well trust me " but Lucy asked holding Blake s wrist " For who?" Before Tale could finish," For..." Blake jumped up growling his face with some kind of skin disease, his mouth drooling of blood, Lucy jumped back in the car, closing the door. Blake jumped trying to fit in the window, reaching out for Lucy while she screamed not knowing the other door was loosely shut,she fell off the other side . I immediately shot Blake right in the head.
Tale: No no no no it's on me Stace it's on me
Me: we should go home Tale
Tale: You killed someone Stace
me: did u see it...that was no human,it was an...a thiiing
Lucy: Just start the car ,let's go
Tale turned immediately to the wheel as Lucy got in ànd locked the door. But Tale seemed worried," Hey whats wrong now??" I asked concerned. Tale looked at Lucy and me and said " it won't go on,"
me: what do you mean it won't go on?
Tale: the car won't start
me: this is all your fault Lucy, you just had to say hi to Blake
Lucy: don't you throw this at me
we began arguing and throwing words at each other in the car,all of us blaming each other for the incident ." Okay,okay we just have to walk" Tale suggested but I wasn't up for this idea," I'm not walking Tale ,am not dying today ( whispering) am still a virgin"
Tale: You won't die ,we just take the gun ...and the house is visible from here we can stay on the road.
Lucy: the forest is shorter
me: we're taking the road,it's getting dark soon anyway
lucy: it's two o'clock dumbass
me: that's what I said,it's getting dark and I ain't getting in those trees.
Tale: If the forest is shorter Stace and we need to get there faster
Lucy: one zombie thingy and your trust in me is dead...pfft
we got out of the car with our backpacks still with the gurgled yo my hand . Take bent over to the corpse and begun to search its pockets.Had she lost her mind," Tale what in The world are you doing now??" I asked. she fished out a phone from it's pockets. " this( waving the phone at my face) this is my calling for help." But Lucy stopped her," no don't it's useless ,you can call when we get to the house," Tale looked at me and I could read her. her instincts were tingling again. she slid the phone into her pocket and said,' okay,nobody's calling " we kept walking into the woods closely together but Lucy kept hanging back.we kept walking and now the house was really close by. During the walk,Tale took the phone and texted our father the address.
Lucy: Hey can we pause I'm...running out of breath
Tale: but we're so close
lucy: Just...please
me: ( pointing around ) what's that...and that...and those
Tale: Run!
You need not tell me that twice,we were racing through the scattered trees,trying to reach the house but it seemed so far now. The zombies were too after us." What the...I thought zombies were supposed to be slow ," Tale suddenly tripped over a branch and she got an asthma attack that rendered her helpless. " no!no!no! not right now," I said panicking. Tale was gasping for air," her inhaler Lucy" I said. " shoot the freaking zombies Stacey" I stood close to Tale trying to shoot at the monsters but I was too panicked I lost focus with my sister dying in a filthy forest, soon we were going to be a meal. Just then Lucy puked blood on Tale's feet, groaning too.
