"Congratulations! Here are the keys Mr:Richie you now got the job as a driver."said Mr:David as he shook Richie's hand vigorously while his left hand handed him the keys . Richie could not believe his ears for it was a dream come true . The only son in a poor family of six children was now a driver in Hekima international school.Richie's family was well off until an epidamic struck their village wiping out an eighth of the adults. The disease was such a mystery for it only affected couples. Not even the prominent witch doctors and herbalists with their life saving skills could help them out. This had left Richie and his sisters as orphans who depended on villagers help to survive. His five sisters could also work in rich men homes to complement the small help they got. Through his sisters help he was able to have lessons in the driving school till he got his license as a compintent driver. He was now able to drive any type of trails and coaches leave alone the small saloons. Soon after his sisters were married, they forgot him and he had to trek from one door to another looking for a job. At last his hardwork had bore fruits ,he truly hoped this were to become good fruits.
He hurried in two big strides and left Mr: David's office. Probably he too like the students did not want to stay in the principal's office lest he became angry and punished you for no reason. He would even punish you for staring at him. He walked to the garage thinking of what the bus would look like. He obviously expected what he had seen in most of the schools , a small thirty seater well pimped minibus. His heart was calm until his eyes met the huge mahogany garage whose door was probably one metre thick. His heart now throbbed threatening to break off his ribcage .The blood almost soliloquiesed in his veins. Lo and behold! Inside the garage stood a huge yellow coach, it had eight high definition lights with box like moonlights of a spectrum of colours. He decided to have a look first around the gigantic bus. He would then decide whether to go back and resign or try his first trip. The writings on the driver's door showed it had a net weight of seven tonnes. He looked at his arms covered with the well protruding veins. He could not believe that they would be able to move the train like coach inside it seventy two souls for a thousand of kilometers. He opened the driver's door took two steps and sat on his seat. The driver's chamber looked complex than he thought ,it had a lot of buttons, two gear levers , a remote, four pedals, a t - shaped hard iron and also a microphone. He could not get the essence of all these things for he only needed a steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake, and of course only three pedals, the clutch ,brake and accelerator. He decided to first such for a manual and found it on the back seat. He lied on the seat and hardly had he read half the manual book than he fell asleep.
He had slept for an hour or so when he was woken up by a very loud bang. It took a few seconds for him to familiarize himself with the surroundings. What could it be? It was only some hours after he got the job and Lucifah had already sent his angels to torment him. He knew that it would cost him his kidney to repair any part of the bus. " Now what is this and why does it only have to be me?" he thought aloud. He walked between the spacious seats and got out through the driver's door. His heart pumped like a high voltage generator. He got out curiously looking for the cause of the loud thud. "Maybe the loud thud was out side.....but no it came from in here.....
" Richie could now talk to himself like an insane man. He stepped on the ground and could hear a creaking sound from the garage doors. This was an indicator that something was a mess. Then what was it?He sent his eyes searching.
