Chapter 56 - Chapter 56

"Hmm? Who is this bald man?" Little Loli flew around the bald man, frowning as if remembering someone annoying.

The disheveled appearance and the strange sword on his back attracted a lot of attention. Even little Loli began to take an interest in that person's origins.

"Hey baldy! Tell me, what's your name? Mine Tatsumaki." Hovering in front of the Marked Warrior, Tatsumaki crossed her arms while making a cocky expression.

The mysterious man, who was still in a daze, looked at the little girl in front of him and subconsciously said. "Calliope?" a moment later, he regained his senses. "You are not Calliope. Who are you, child?"

"Calliope? I'm not Calliope, baldy! Besides, I'm not a c- Uhhmp!!!" Before Tatsumaki could finish her sentence, Vermillion hurriedly hugged the Loli and gagged her.

While breaking out in a cold sweat, Vermillion shouted in his heart. 'This Loli! Does she really want to die?!'

Hurriedly, Vermillion said to the Marked Warrior in front of him. "Kratos, nice to meet you. I am Vermillion, I was the one who summoned you here. Please forgive our little friend, she's been quite naughty."

"So it is you who has summoned me, Lord Vermillion?"

"Don't worry, I won't think too much about what a child says." Kratos replied in a deep voice.

"Aghhkk!" Tatsumaki, who was still gagged and hugged, began to struggle. She didn't accept being called a child by the bald man!

'System, why did you summon Kratos? Also, why is there an opportunity like this in the first place?!' Vermillion frantically shouted inwardly.

He knows who Kratos is! General, Ghost of Sparta, God Slayer, God of War!

All the heinous things were vividly recalled in Vermillion's memory, so he panicked. What would happen if Kratos wanted to defect from him? He would become his biggest enemy in life!

In addition, there is a strange power in the world of One Piece; with his character, Kratos will be able to grow stronger, be it with Haki or Devil Fruit.

Successfully summoning Kratos made Vermillion both happy and worried.

[ Don't worry, Master. The summoned Kratos came from the Ascension timeline; he is not as dangerous as in the God of War 3 timeline. You will be safe.]

[With my help, his past memories will automatically be lightened, and the slave marks on his arms can be removed. The cost is the same as the cost to strengthen the Servant.]

[Congratulations, for your Summoning, you gain; Blade of Chaos, Spartan Rage, and Amulet of Uroborus!]

'Really? What a relief...' Vermillion wiped his sweat. After being informed by the System, he finally calmed down.

Kratos has been shackled with memories of his past. Having killed his wife and child with his own hand's thanks to the wiles of Ares, Kratos has been haunted by these memories for years.

No matter what he does, he can't forget these sad memories. He even attempted suicide in God of War 1, proving how much the memories affected him.

And Ascension's Kratos is indeed much calmer and still retains his humanity.

If he can help Kratos or remove his slave mark, Vermillion is confident that Kratos will become a loyal Servant. After all, his brutal actions and irritability are the results of ten years of deceit by the Greek Gods.

"Kratos, I will ease your suffering." After successfully persuading Tatsumaki, Vermillion extended his hand while looking at the fierce man.

"Can you really do that?" Kratos widened his eyes. Subconsciously, his heart began to beat. This had been his wish all along, ever since the terrible mistake he had made by selling his soul to the God, Ares.

Hearing Vermillion's words, Kratos hesitantly extended his hand and shook hands with his summoner. He had experienced betrayal many times, and he knew people who were trying to lie and those who were not.

Vermillion is not one of those liars; his summoner seems very confident and eager to help him, like Orkos, the man he killed a few months ago. (Orkos sacrificed himself in order to remove Kratos' Blood Oath to Ares.)

Seeing Kratos' response, Vermillion was pleased. It seemed to be true; Ascension Kratos was indeed calmer and more cautious.

'System, help me alleviate Kratos' suffering!'
