Selena's POV
I was catching my breath after I got out of Skyler's room. I wished to make his life miserable too, but I didn't have the heart to do it; every time I looked at him now, all I could see on his handsome face was his anger, fear, and regrets.
I don't know how to help him recover since he is adamant about returning to the hospital. I hoped he would regain his sight even if he infuriated me to the core.
It felt so lovely to hear him say his younger self was in love with me, and I wished to go back in time and enjoy that moment and do everything I could to make it last until we grew into an adult, but maybe first love dies after all.
He was no longer in love with me, and I guess being in love at this time would never be his priority. I felt glad I didn't need to deal with his ex-fiancee, or my stay here in his mansion would be more complicated than it already was; I deeply inhaled before I continued walking towards the dining hall.
