(Jing Xiuying POV)
I stood only a few steps away from the front door like any good housewife. My hands cupped one another over my navel as I warmly watched Jinzi complaining to our Darling.
"B-Big Brother, y-you want me to spar with others!? Why can't I just do it with you?"
"Jinzi, I think I've given you just a bit too much attention since you've been here. All those times I spent training with you meant that I wasn't properly doing my job as the Master of the sect.
What do you think happened to all that lost time? That simply meant an increased workload for your poor big sister over there. You wouldn't want her to be stressing out all the time now would you?"
"I- Uh…"
Feeling like now would be a good time to join into their conversation I spoke up while walking over.
"Sister Jinzi, you can't hog him all the time, especially not when you aren't even cultivating properly."
When I came over I took this chance to make sure that Darling didn't have any odd encounters with women. I leaned over Jinzi and gave him a quick little kiss while taking a quick whiff.
It wasn't anything too out of the ordinary, in fact today was quite a safe day. Just like when he goes out shopping or walks around the sect before.
There are a myriad of faint odors, scents, and fragrances. It simply means that people have passed by him due to how faint they are. It occasionally happens when I'm with him out on the streets, but they always appear a little more fiercely when he's alone.
It simply wouldn't be reasonable to kill every single person to have ever even come near my darling. The amount of slaughter would surely raise some alarms. By then Darling would easily connect the dots on why every store we've ever even gone to had their clerks and assistants killed.
I could very simply get over it though as it meant that no one had directly touched him. The strength of any particular scent would be quite noticeable when they made any direct contact with him. At those times it was fine to act just like how I found those two women just before the banquet.
Now if female disciples touched him then I was usually a little different compared to those in the city. Darling feels proud of them most of the time and as such I decided on less drastic measures for them. Their first offense would simply be giving them a slightly difficult mission to handle. If it happened again then it would mostly depend on how I was feeling at the time.
I couldn't simply kill them, especially inside the sect. Sometimes I sent them on suicidal missions where they would usually never come back, but that didn't happen often since I would basically be hurt my Darling's life's work. Since that was the case I would give them tasks which would take them a long time to complete so that they wouldn't have time to flirt and seduce my darling.
Now was one of the best outcomes possible for me, but there was a strange feeling about leaving it as is. By this time most of the scents from people had faded from him, but there were still a few which lingered and one specifically was a little stronger than the rest which meant that he had only recently come into contact with her.
'There are still disciples out so late at night? Well it seems she didn't touch him though which matters the most.
But there's something I can't quite understand about this scent. Why does it give me such a weird feeling? Could there be something more to it though? For now I'll just dismiss it, it's probably just another immature heartstrucken girl after all.'
Lost in my thoughts Jinzi reached over and hugged Darling around his waist.
"Big Brother, am I going to have to do this all the time from now on?"
"What sparring? No, but from now on you will have to go down there all the time to be taught by the elders as well. I can teach you occasionally though. Hmm, how about this? I'll make some time to bring you down there tomorrow."
She tilted her head to look up at him, but even though I couldn't see her expression I think I knew what kind of face she was making.
"J-just tomorrow? What about every other day a-and what about coming back?"
Darling made a slightly troubled face which I found cute.
"Jinzi, I'll take you whenever I can ok? As for coming back, that mostly depends on you. You can come back whenever you want, it's not like you're twelve. If you really want me to pick you up we can make a little schedule later okay?"
"Okay!"
Jinzi nodded her head as she bounced up and down using her feet.
"W-woah you shouldn't do that here."
"Oh why not?"
She spoke innocently, but clearly with ill intentions.
My eyes narrowed at Jinzi.
'That little bouncing action, did she do that on purpose? Surely, she knows with her height when she hugs our Darling where those breasts of hers press against right? But she is quite an idiot at times, so maybe it wasn't?'
"I'm a little tired from my walk, why don't you let me in the house first?"
"O-oh! I'm sorry, please come in Big Brother!"
Jinzi released her hold on him and backed away with her hands behind her back.
"Thank you, I think I'll just wash up a bit before going to bed. I feel like tomorrow might be a little arduous."
He spoke concisely before steadily going to our bathroom.
I looked at Jinzi and she promptly returned the gaze. I lightly shook my head at her and she nodded in response.
We went to our bedroom and I started to undress to a light white outer robe which had slight translucency through to my underwear. Jinzi merely wore an oversized shirt, of which belonged to our Darling, and some panties that were hidden by the length of the shirt.
Jinzi and I had a light chat to pass the time until darling would return. I sat on the bed as she laid down on it.
"Sister Xiuying, I'm a little scared."
"Scared, why? Are you that shy of a person? Didn't you attend a class when you first arrived here?"
"Well I didn't have to fight them at the time. I was just sitting there and listening to their lesson. Big Brother said he'll bring me to go sparring with others. I-I don't know if I'll be able to meet his expectations."
"You must try your very best, don't disappoint our Darling. But considering the fact that he himself taught you then you should surely be a little better than your peers. Don't worry though, even if you lose I'm sure he won't get mad at you. Hmm, well maybe just a little. All that time teaching you would have been wasted then wouldn't it?"
Like a little shock she sat up at once.
"Hah!? Big Brother? Mad at me? No, why would he be? Oh, it's because I haven't been cultivating it isn't it? No, I can't let that happen!"
"I'm just joking! He won't be mad, just disappointed."
"Disappointed? No! They're both bad! How could I let either happen?! I guess I just have to win then won't I? I really hope they aren't too difficult."
"They won't be… well that is if you actually cultivate properly! Just make sure your opponents are within your realm, if that's the case then hopefully you'll have a chance to defeat them."
At this point she got over that and laid back down.
"I have good talent right? Is that why you think I could beat those in my realm even if I'm lower than them?"
"Talent? Your talent means nothing when you fight with others. Its use is in cultivation, reaching new realms, and breaking through. Unless you can cultivate mid battle it's useless. Why are you so nervous to fight someone anyway?"
At my question she turned toward me while hugging a nearby pillow.
"Well, it's the first time I'll have to actually fight another person and Big Brother doesn't count! I have some experience now with animals in that competition from a while back, but I didn't actually fight anyone.
The only time I've ever even hit anyone since I've started cultivating was that man uh…. Ye, Ye something, cheng? Chen, that's right Ye Chen. I hit him and even managed to send him flying!
He had a higher cultivation than me, but was still in the same realm. I don't know if I could recreate that punch. It was filled with emotion and all the strength I could exert, but not only that, he was also distracted which I think might have been my biggest advantage."
"Say Jinzi, isn't the movement technique that Darling granted you based on wind?"
"Yes, what about it?"
"What do you think about it? Do you believe that it suits you? Do you want to perhaps focus on speed and dexterity?"
"Well I never really thought too deeply about it. But this manual actually feels quite suited to me, I don't think I really want to focus on a strength based cultivation else I won't be so cute anymore!"
The grip on the pillow tightened a bit at the end before she eventually let go of it.
"Already made up your mind then? Is preserving your looks more important to you than gaining power? Fufu~ I don't blame you though, it would definitely be unfitting with the way you always behave."
"Ah? Thank… you?"
"That manual of yours is quite good, it's grade isn't bad either. I think you might even have some affinity for the element as well which is always good. Use it well against those opponents of yours."
"Well my plan for my first fight was to simply evade until I could get a good grasp of their attacks or something so I could get one or two off. I'm a little nervous that I won't be fast enough though."
"Don't worry about their speed, there probably won't be many who can catch up to you. Well that is if they were ordinary. You'll have to go out to the Outer court to find opponents though since there aren't any below the 4th realm in the Inner court."
While we spoke I noticed some movements from the hall. After I finished my sentence I sat up elegantly with my hands on my lap as I awaited the person to enter. Jinzi seemed to notice my movements but she didn't do anything special, instead simply pushing herself up against the bed headboard for a more relaxed position.
In a moment Darling entered the room though already dressed. I was a little disappointed that he didn't simply wear a towel, but I believe he still thinks of Jinzi as a child at times.
That cute appearance of hers has its charms, but a mature woman like myself will still win when it comes to seduction! In fact that young appearance might simply be a barrier for him and you to break before you have your first time.
'Hehe, I'll still win! Jinzi, I'm still far ahead of the game!'
"Why did you two stop talking? You know it's okay right?"
"Darling, as the lovely wife I am, of course I have to welcome my husband back. Now come over here and let us enjoy a warm embrace before our slumber."
I stretched my arms and hands out to receive him. Meanwhile Jinzi did the same as me and even moved up so that she wouldn't be as far back as before. Now she was directly to my side.
He walked toward both of us while switching the target of his eyes every second with a smile. Just before he came onto the bed he stood still.
I saw his grin for half a second before he jumped onto the bed choosing both of us. He jumped in the very middle and in each hand he embraced us. I felt the warmth of his hand on my back for a few moments before he quickly reoriented his position to sleep on his back.
I intertwined his hand with my own and from there without another word we went to sleep.
