Ray and avan were catching their breath hiding behind a big broken pillar. It was big enough that it could hide behind them without being noticed. An individual of similar stature and metal armor was also holding his ground with them hiding and keeping an eye out for danger. Peeking from the edge of the building he saw the sky fish ray tearing up the surroundings looking for them.
[The pain is so excruciating. This is bad if I don't get treatment, my hand will become unusable in the future]
Ray grabbed his left arm with his right one gently. The burn marks were all over his left arm and a little on his torso. The pain was so much that was ray was trembling in his entire left arm making ray flitch a lot every second. Looking at his hand the armored individual had a serious worried expression.
"This looks very serious. The burns were quite severe having redness, swelling, and blistering. I'm sorry I can't heal injuries. We will survive this. Just hold on."
With a faint smile, ray was amused by his confidence. The circumstances were looking very grim. It was funny to be that confident.
"Bold claims. I hope we can survive but"
Ray looked around and so did the other 2 looking sideways. The destruction that happened because of the battles. All three had a look around the encompassing area they were in. It was in shambles.
"I'm not that confident"
"Thanks for helping us. Aside from that can you tell me your name? My name is ray. That one is my cranky brother avan. "
Looking conflicted he took a few seconds to respond
"Oh. Just call me gill."
Avan did not want to talk and he just remained silent.
Looking at his right arm and his torso ray concluded he could not wield the hard stone sword. Ray started racking his brain. Looking around the surrounding. An idea popped into his head.

The sky fish was slowly starting to come close to the general area where all 3 were hiding.
"Listen, we don't have time. I have a plan but you need to trust me."
After discussing it with all the 2 for a minute. Gill was not content with the plan. He had a serious disdain on his face. Swirling his head around sideways as he did not like this plan.
"You will be killed. Are you insane? You're injured as well"
Avan was content with the plan. He was thinking that ray would be killed for his stupidity. Avan had a furious expression. he did not believe a single word.
[If you thinking of using me as a scapegoat. I will personally kill you]
Ray did not refute them.
"If you trust my plan we can survive this. I will be bait. You just need to do your job."
Ray gave his hard stone sword to avan with an amused smile.
"Catch. This is useless to me at the moment. I will not be able to swing it in my current state effectively"
Avan did not like ray attitude. With a scorn
"You seriously think I will help you of all people?"
"I don't think so as well but what's the harm in asking? Just help me survive and we can settle our matter privately"
avan turned his body to not face his brother.

ray knew he had bad relation with his little brother
[I'm sure he will completely abandon his plan without a second notice. He never was the same after that incident. I might be able to rely on gill. he looks like those gullible hero types. Let's hope for the best.]
Gill was confused by the bickering back and forth by both these brothers. Brothers don't act that hostile. Gill did not pry into the matter. He thought
[I should not get involved in personal affairs. Even if his brother does not help as long as ray survives and fulfills his part. I can complete the job using everything I have. I will not hold back anything]
Gill still wanted to refute this plan. It was too dangerous. A drop of green goo landed just very near him. All three noticed the goo and had a terrifying chill run through their entire body. Looking up with a reflex all jumped away at the near sight. The sky fish was on the pillar hanging looking down at that while salivating.
Ray shouted
"SCATTER NOW'
All three dispersed with speed in different directions. The sky fish with a roar descended from the pillars-high peak landing on the ground with a bang.
"Thud"
Ray was slow compared to the others. He did not cover much distance.
[If this thing has basic intelligence it will target the injured prey. Hopefully, it will come towards me]
Ray looked at the v-shaped pillar that collapsed. It was a few 100 meters from their general location. Even with the head start, he was certain he would get eaten alive. The sky fish was on his tail as soon as it saw him. Running He was slow enough to get noticed.
"ROAR"
With a battle cry, the fish was running using its pole-like legs. It was on his trail getting dangerously close. He did not look worried. With a calm collected face, he looked sideways right, and left. 2 Individuals were running on the rooftops of homes keeping up with ray pace. They were sneaking up on the fish from behind slowly getting closer and closer. Ray was closing near the pillar.
The fish opened its mouth and attacked ray as he was in its bite range.
"Chomp"
Ray ducked barely. His shirt and some skin of his back were caught and ripped by the teeth of the fish by force, ray forcibly tore away himself from the grip at that moment and slipped below the sky fish's body as it launched itself and jumped to bite him. Passing below the fish both gill and avan used their strongest attack behind its back as they timed it perfectly.
Avan while running used the hard stone sword to swing in a spiral motion making a spiral energy swirling construct in midair that had 3 symbols engraved on it. Making a complete dead stop and doing a 360 motion rotating his entire body and shifting his weight to make a stab motion with his full might. He stabbed through the center of the spiral construct that was in front of him. The sword passed through it and was enveloped fully in all the swirling energy heating it exponentially as it passed the spiral magic construct. The speed and heat were exponentially growing after passing through the construct. He let go of the sword completely
[I hope this sword can survive the spiral circle]
The sword after passing from the magical spiral construct was still intact and all of it wrapped around the sword changing its shape and launching it. In less than a second of casting the attack, his sword was launched like a missile toward the fish. With blinding speed and a pure red glow that showed just how hot it was.
"EAT THIS YOU FUCKING FISH"

In the same instance, gill was rotating his dual scythe using his hands with incredible speed. His magical aura enveloped the dual scythe and the blade had a clear yellow glow continuously growing bigger. In a moment he stopped and threw 3 waves of energy. One was diagonal and one was horizontal. One was placed diagonally between them

Gill did not stop there. The attack was slow and it would not do anything substantial but he invented his technique. Before his wave attack could even leave a few meters away. He already used every ounce of magical strength and concentrated it in his hand beforehand. His hand Glowed and started shaking. He positioned himself to throw a punch with full force and a circle appeared in front of him. He punched through the magical circle having 4 symbols in the center of the Gale slash attack

A meteor-like attack was launched by gill as it had many swirling slashes circling the ball-sized attack. In the same instance and in less than a second both attacks hit the sky fish from behind a huge explosion happens.
"Boom"
A blast wave sweeps the area and ray is hit by it launching him far into the distance. Ray was a few meters away from the fish so it had a considerable impact.
The surrounding area was devastated. Trying to stand up Ray saw that the fish. It was hurt and the impact force plunged the fish into the v-shaped pillar. It was stuck and the pillars were too big and thick to break through. It was desperately trying to break free but it could not do anything to budge the pillars.
[I'm so relieved. that stupid fish is trapped]
Ray laid on the ground. He had never seen proper magic and witnessing for the first time. He felt genuine astonishment and sadness. The sheer power of magic was on display.
[Sadly I can't use magic. It's honestly essential to survive if I'm being honest. I barely survived this ordeal]
Gill ran in ray direction as soon as the dust settled. Ray was bleeding a lot from his back. He had a deep bite wound that looked like the fish successfully tore some flesh from his back. Gill tore his shirt and bandaged his back.
"I'm sorry I could not do much"
"Just don't talk. You losing a lot of blood. I will do some first aid as best I can"
Gill was very glad that ray survived. It was because of him all three did not die and became the food of the fish one by one. If had they stayed in the group the fish would have torn them to shreds regardless.
"You're the reason we survived. Don't worry about the small stuff. You are braver than most"
Avan was standing behind gill watching the fish just in case. He listened to the conversation as well
A knight approached the scene as the blast alerted him after he dealt with the threat in his general patrolling area.
"Kids? Are you ok? What are you doing here?"
The knight approached the 3 kids. He saw one was badly hurt and the other 2 had some injuries but not severe as the one laying on the ground. The knight did not wait and took out glowing berries from his pouch having gold color. Carefully placing his hand and gently lifting the bloody body of ray from his back. He fed him the berries.
"Eat this. This will heal your injuries and slowly recover your wounds."
Ray ate the berries and slowed them slowly the pain subdued. Ray was facing the sky and he noticed something
The storm was slowly starting to calm down. The sky giant's feet that were covering the entire city were starting to lift off from the city slowly. The storm was slowly moving away as it was the epicenter is the sky giant itself. The sky fish were also following the storm so they were slowly leaving the city area.
The knight had a lot of questions. When he saw the sky fish that was stuck in the pillars. He could generally guess what happened
"Hold him"
He took out his sword and went towards the sky fish. Facing its month direction barely one foot away from it. The aura that was emanating was so strong it was making the air shake.
"So you were the one that hurt this child, and the other children huh"
The fish felt much buried by the pressure the knight was giving off. It could not even roar at the knight only feet away from it. With no escape, the fish made its final attack. Charging an energy blast in its mouth.
With a slash that was so fast that only a click sound was heard.
"Click"
The wind pressure from the slash was so strong it send a shockwave and pushed all the kids back a little. He had just sheathed his sword in an instant and walked back towards the kids. The fish roared but in just a second it completely fell apart into pieces. Its guts and all internal organ spewed were cut into pieces and scattered on the ground.
Ray and the others witnessed something astonishing. Even after everything all three did, they could not pierce the skin of the sky fish. The knight just did it with one swing of his sword. Avan was looking at the knight with envy. Ray just had a blank face of astonishment. He had just one thought.
[Just how can I even approach this level? What will it take?]
Gill had just a blank face as well.
The knight approached the kids.
"First tell me why are you kids here? You should have been hiding in the churches so tell me everything. what happened?"
A group of hunters and a man covered in scars that had torn clothes had appeared and walked into the conversation.
Both avan and ray said one word
"Hans"
The bearded Dwarf made a loud fuss as soon as they arrived close to the kids.
"OYE rookie Wtf Are you doing here? Are you okay?
checking his condition thoroughly
"I told you to stay with us. We could not hurry to your location. You made quite a mess of the situation."
Grabbing by the collar the draft relentlessly cursed him. gill did not shy away and took it head-on with a firm expression.

"I'm sorry Mr. Knight that armored kid is with us. He ran off to help the other 2 kids. We were caught in an ambush by a group of sky fish. This person saved our lives."
The group of hunters was very thankful to Hans for helping them survive. They discussed what happened on the battlefield and gave the answers to the knight.
Ray after realizing it was safe. he slowly closed his eyes. he was exhausted from the injuries.
