He didn't notice that while he walked further, a door opened behind him in the passage. Lily woke up early because she wanted to go to the washroom. So after that, she went out in search of breakfast. It was still early but she felt hungry as she didn't eat properly last night.
She was a silent sleeper. When she sleeps, she doesn't make any noises. And when she wakes up, she does her work without making any noise. She doesn't like loud noises especially when she sleeps or wakes up.
So as usual, she opened the door so silently that Hunter didn't hear it. Lily looked out lazily but her eyes widened seeing the scene outside. She saw Hunter carrying Grace all the way to their bedroom. Then she saw him carefully opening the door and bringing her inside. He looked so gentle and careful as he took care of her.
All her sleepiness disappeared. She closed her door and leaned against it. Her heart was beating fast. She never imagined her sister in someone's arms. It suddenly hit her harder than Grace will no longer be only hers.
Hunter took Grace inside and put her on the bed. All the way, he was very gentle in handling her. After tucking her inside the quilt, he heated the temperature. Then he laid down beside her. He was also exhausted.
He laid closer to her but did not hold her. And fell asleep with a smile on his face. They both slept very soundly. They slept till the afternoon. Still, they could have slept till the evening if not for their phones ringing.
Hunter frowned as he slowly opened his eyes. He felt that it has been a long time since he last slept so peacefully. Sometimes, things change so suddenly yet smoothly that it's hard to grasp them. Just like how he suddenly got married and felt so happy. At times, he feels like it was just the day before when he was living alone in a small room in the barracks.
Lost in his deep thoughts, Hunter gazed at Grace. She was probably the most beautiful creature of god at least to him. Her beautiful strings of blackish-grey hair hid half of her face. He could clearly see how long and beautiful her eyelashes were.
His gaze staggered when it reached her beautiful lips. They were beautiful like peach blossoms. He noticed that they were dry. A slime slipped up his face as he gently pushed her hair back.
As he was engrossed in his thinking, his phone rang again. He almost forgets about it. Then he sat up on the bed and took up his phone. It was a call from his family. Hunter picked up the call. They were all waiting for them to eat together as a family since it was their first day as a married couple.
Hunter said that he'll be there in a while. After hanging up, he looked back at Grace. He was wondering if he should let her sleep or wake her up when he saw her eyes open.
He was stunned. She was lazily staring at him. Then he heard her slightly hoarse voice as she asked him.
" Good morning. What time is it?"
" Oh... It's almost 13:00."
" That's... Quite late." Grace was a bit surprised that she woke up so late. Even though she pulled an all-nighter, she couldn't remember the last time she woke up after 10 am. So it was a bit surprising to her. She woke up and the laziness vanished.
" Who was calling? Did something happen?" She asked casually as she sat up.
" It was just my mother. She said it was lunchtime. The plan is that both families will spend the day together and then we'll depart for our honeymoon."
" Yeah... Mamma mentioned it before. Are you bathing first or should I go first?"
" You can go first."
" Okay." Grace got up and went to the closet. Took a set of clothes and walked into the bathroom. Soon the sound of the shower came.
Grace stood still under the shower. She felt very peaceful like she was in the rain. Her thoughts wandered around and she recalled last night. They spend quite a quality time together. She didn't expect to bond with him so well.
Today, when she woke up from the sound of ringing, she saw Hunter with his messy short hair and night dress. She couldn't deny that the first thing she thought was that he is so handsome.
It was a weird feeling for her. Waking up on a white mattress with a handsome man on the other side. Feeling half asleep yet good. She couldn't conclude what she felt but she knew that it was at least not a bad feeling. Yet she felt like it was something forbidden or dangerous that she ought to stay away from.
Soon, she came out of the shower. While she dried her hair, Hunter went to take a bath. He was done soon. He didn't use a hairdryer as his hair was not long either. He dried them with his towel.
When he came out of the bathroom, he saw Grace sitting on the couch seemingly strolling on her phone. He wondered why she didn't go ahead since she was ready. He wasn't expecting her to wait for him but maybe she was. His heartbeats fluttered sweetly as he asked.
" Are you ready? Why didn't you go ahead?"
Hearing his voice, Grace looked up.
" I was waiting for you. As a married couple, shouldn't we go together?"
" Yeah... I just thought you would go ahead." Hunter averted his eyes. His ears were getting red.
Grace smiled. She didn't expect him to have such a side. It was refreshing and she was surprisingly having fun teasing him. Who would have thought such a grown man would have a shy side to him?
" Let's go. They must be waiting." Grace got up and walked to him.
" Yeah... "
As they walked down the stairs, Hunter held her hand to support her. Grace was wearing a simple knee-length wrap dress. It was white with blue floral prints. It has fluffy long sleeves. She paired it with beautiful white strap sandals.
Meanwhile, Hunter was wearing white ripped jeans with a blue shirt. He left the first two buttons open. It was a simple shirt without any designs suited for casual outings. As they approached the dining table, they heard the voices of others talking.
It was a good atmosphere. They greeted others respectfully before taking a seat side by side. Their wedding rings shone beautifully everywhere.
