"We need to go." Antonella knew she had to be decisive. Their family had sacrificed their lives for them and the least they can do is try to keep their lives.
Lillian also sniffed in and nodded agreeing. If their pack has been annihilated, the killers might find them. The earlier they left the pack's ground, the best for them.
Together they found their way out of the cave. "Where do we follow?" Lillian asked Antonella hours after they had walked through the dark cave. To think they have such a cave in their pack was surprising to the two ladies.
"Straight ahead." Unable to decide the path to take since there were about three openings, Antonella decided going straight ahead would be the safest. Or so she hopes. Lillian who want sure of what path to take decided going straight was indeed the best choice.
They kept on walking, oblivious to what they might meet at the end of the cave. Finally, they found themselves in an open field. They were surrounded by just nature. Yet they didn't stop, if they could come out through here, the Lunatic have several men at his disposal and he can send some after them too.
Turning into their wolves, they ran through the open field, going in different directions until they were able to feel a sense of safety.
While the two ladies ran for their lives, Jessica's attempt to keep them safe seems to have been for naught.
As the rogues prepared to pile the bodies of the fallen warriors for disposal, they had searched through their bodies in other to take out any valuables they had in them. A soldier who was searching through Evans's body found the map he wasn't able to pass to his sister.
For some reason, he hid the map inside his jacket so the others won't see it. He moved to search the Alpha's body and except for the pieces of jewelry he got from him, there was nothing else. Searching through the beta too, he could only find monetary goods so he finally decided that only the young warrior had a map on him.
'What was the map meant for though?' His mind tried to think of it but finally gave up. The leadership might have an idea. He went back to supervise the remaining search, making sure no one hid any finds for themselves.
"Pile them up together!" He ordered the men. Nodding at some soldiers, they followed him with their finds as they went to the former Alpha's office which is now occupied by the Lunatic.
"Your Leadership." The man Edra, who led the men in bowed "They didn't have much on them, their armors does seem like it will be useful though." The Lunatic nodded, there wasn't anger in him.
Most times, when they search through the bodies of those whom they had killed, they hardly ever find anything valuable. Things of value are always found in their homes, hence why he is presently waiting for the team searching through the pack houses to report.
Edra gave a nod to the men he had led in dismissing them. When he was certain no one was at a close range, he brought out the map he had hidden earlier. "I found this on the Alpha's son. I thought I should hand it to you personally." He knew his thoughts well, of course he would, they have fought together since young. How could they possibly trust rogues whom they found in the wild?
"What map is this?" The Lunatic stared at the map attentively trying to understand the markings and its topography.
"I am not sure but I thought since he had it with him to the battleground, it might be of value. Maybe it will lead us to treasures." Edra was becoming too excited at the thought of finding a room filled with gold and diamonds.
"Who else knows about this?" Although from Edra's earlier attitude he could already guess no one knows a thing but he still needs to confirm from him.
"Just I. I have hidden it away so quickly hence no one saw." The Lunatic nodded and kept the map away.
"We will investigate this as quietly as possible. If there indeed are treasures, I promise fifteen percent of the treasures will be yours." Edra bowed unhappily. He found the map, but only fifteen percent will go to him, he knew whom he is following enough to know nothing will go to the other men. Alas, fifteen percent will still make him richer than the other men, and when he leads beside him as beta, he would have more access to money. 'Let us not let this moment's action ruin a much better future.' With this thought, he steeled his heart to find those treasures no matter what.
"I should join the others." The Lunatic nodded. How could he not have known Edra was unhappy with his magnanimity? 'Ungrateful' how ungrateful can one be? He led them here, the victory is all his, and so were their lives! Him actually sharing his find from a battle with him already proves just how magnanimous he can be and yet, he was been too ungrateful to acknowledge the kindness shown to him?!
"Should I ask some other men to find this?" He thought aloud. If Edra fails to find what the map was about, then he wouldn't need to share anything with him. 'There is no need, they are all the same after all. I should fasten my rope on one wolf neck alone' Edra was his dog and he knows best how to control it.
Gasping for air, Lillian looked back once more to be certain they had run from the wolf that gave them chase. "What should we do?" She asked, her chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath.
"I do not know. We need a plan, we have to survive Lillian, they...they died to keep us alive and we owe it to them to stay alive." They can only exact vengeance when they are alive. The thought of that Lunatic taking over her home had her blood boiling with rage. And today, having to run once more from that wolf to keep her life was a cold reminder of how weak she was, how useless she is when it comes to defending herself. The very thought of this makes her heart wrench with pain, why had she been so neglectful of her training? Why did she let herself become so useless?!
Lillian could hear the self blame from just watching her, she didn't need her to voice her thoughts out as it was so evident to her. "What plan can we come up with?" They do need a plan, they were also rogues themselves now. And to keep themselves away from the likes of the pervert who watched them like food earlier, they needed to plan.
But the question was, what sort of plan can they come up with here in the wild?! What can they actually do in a place so foreign to them, all their lives, they had been sheltered by their family, their pack, their home. And now they have lost it all.
"Cut my hair off." Antonella's words had Lillian staring at her in disbelief. Antonella is obsessed with her waist-length beautiful golden hair. She would spend hours grooming the hair and won't stop touching it. Hearing her suggest her hair be cut off truly had her in shock. 'She can't be serious.' Lillian concluded in her heart.
"This is no time for jokes Anto, what can we do?" Antonella's expression darkened when she heard her call her that. It brought back some beautiful memories that are sad to think of right now.
"Don't call me that!" she gritted out. No one should be allowed to call her that ever again, that was not her anymore. The girl called Anto died the minute Evans took his last breath.
"I am sorry." Lillian understood why she reacted in such a way. She doubt she would appreciate it if anyone were to ever call her Li again. That was for her family alone.
"My hair is a major attraction to us, so I need to cut it off. We will dirty ourselves like every other rogue we have seen so far, and we need to go wolf less for now." Antonella kept on talking as though she had been thinking about it for years.
Every pack has its unique trait, while some could hide their scents from being discovered, some could heal at a faster rate than the others. The Frost pack could hide their wolves. This makes it hard for other werewolves to discover the wolves in them. This is especially so for Antonella who has an Alpha bloodline in her and Lillian who has beta blood in her too.
"Why?" Lillian asked "We will be needing our wolves to defend ourselves. We have no strength as humans!" At least in their beast form, they could stand a chance to fight off any threat but in this form, with their current strength, they will be nothing more than ants that can be crushed off.
"I have a plan, it is a crazy one but I think it will be worth a trial." Lillian watched her attentively as she waited for her to share her plans.
"We should go into someone's territory, that way we will have the pack's security and also lesser threat from rogues. Without our wolves, we won't be attracting any unwanted attention to ourselves. We will just be another omega to them, slaves that will be trampled on by the others. You know what happens to Omega's?" Lillian shook her head no. How can she know what happens to them? She had never thought much about the omega's... Now she can understand why Antonella will come up with such a crazy idea. No one in power will give them attention so they can live hiding in their midst.
"That would be a good suggestion but what if they killed us for trespassing?" She asked. Most packs kill wolves who enter their territory so who says they won't be unlucky?
"If the men guarding the border tries to kill us, we can then let out wolves out." The aura of their bloodline will surely have them hesitating a little so they can then run. The annihilation of their family immediately made their wolves Alpha and Beta. But with no one to rule, they are just regular wolves in the wild with a unique aura with them.
"But what pack should they go to?" Neither of them knows where they are, they have been wandering around this forest for almost a week now and they are yet to meet any rogue who might be willing to share information with them. They both are clueless about where they were or what packs ruled around here.
"Any pack whose territory looks the biggest." With that response, they both set off looking for territory with the biggest land.
Inside the room the former Frost pack Alpha had occupied with his Luna, the Lunatic had just released a loud growl as he let his seed inside the female underneath him when the sound of urgent knocking came on his door.
Growling, he answered thinking if he had been disturbed for no good reason, the wolf behind the door will breathe his last today.
Edra walked in and glanced at the naked female on the bed, "Can I speak with you alone please?" This was not a matter that needed to be discussed in the presence of his whore.
"Get out" the Lunatic told the female without glancing her way. He stared at Edra wondering what might be so urgent that he looked this way.
Edra made sure she was out of the listening area before he answered "There is another secret room. While investigating that map, I discovered it wasn't a map for hidden treasures." The Lunatic was enraged by the news that he cut him short.
"Who cares if they have thousands of hidden chambers here! I expected you to bring me treasures and not a fuvking hidden room. Get out" his wolf threatened to emerge. How could he not be enraged? He had thought of the different things he will do with the money they find, how he will make himself powerful that even the royal family will have to think twice before acting against him.
"There was a scent there, I am certain two or three people had hidden there. Who do you think the Alpha will go to such lengths to hide? The Luna" a body was found and the young lady we found next to her wasn't the Aloha's daughter" Edra passed him a photograph of the family of four. The Alpha, Luna, Evans, and Antonella. They all looked so happy and at peace. Their smiles were so wide that even the Lunatic frowned.
"Where is she?" If he had found the room, he must have found the girl too right? He was going to make her pay for what every female in this pack did. "She didn't also kill herself did she?" Considering how useless they all are, he won't be surprised if he found out she too had killed herself.
"No, I am sure she is alive somewhere. I don't know if she has one of these maps though, one thing I am sure of is she is somewhere here on this map" The Lunatic glared at his words. He found out nothing but has only his stupid guesses. What are they meant to do with him guessing? "If you give me some time, I will bring her to you. I just need some few men and I will hunt her back." Edra promised. He knew how lustful the Lunatic was and the young lady in that picture looks so appealing that he wants to have a taste of her himself. Who cares if he has to share her with a few others as long as he has the first taste.
"Later. Right now I need you here, attacking this pack surely will bring enemies our way especially the royal family." With how large the lands he has conquered were, he won't be surprised if the royal family comes knocking on his door. He needed as many men available as possible. The little girl can run but she will surely end up in his hand one day.
"I understand." He was upset as the thought of taking the girl over and over as been on his mind since he came across the picture and realized she still lived. But indeed they had conquered seven packs and claimed their lands, the royal family might feel threatened and come all the way to the East to kill them. If that were to occur, even they won't be able to survive. Edra let out a huge sigh as he left the room. The stench of what had transpired before he walked in had made the room stuffy that he could hardly breathe. And with his present frustration, he went looking for a female he can pour it on.
