In the afternoon, after Minato finished his work, he was reverse-summoned to Mount Myoboku because he had made an agreement with the Sage of Mount Myoboku before.
"Bunta, sorry to trouble you again." Minato thanked Gamabunta for summoning him to Mount Myoboku.
"It's nothing." Bunta said domineeringly with a big pipe in his mouth.
"But Minato, don't you find it troublesome to come and go from Mount Myoboku every day? With your talent, if you fully concentrate on learning Sage Mode, you should be able to reach Jiraiya's level after a few years."
"I can't help it. I am the Hokage. Now that I've become the Hokage, I have to live up to my title as the Hokage. If a Hokage abandons his village for a few years of training, I won't hear the end of it." Minato revealed a gentle smile.
"You humans are really a pain." Gamabunta said helplessly as he escorted Minato to Great Sage Fukasaku.
When Minato arrived, Fukasaku was enjoying a sumptuous insect meal.
Sensing that someone was coming, Fukasaku looked at the door. Upon seeing that it was Minato, he smiled and said, "Minato-kun, are you here to practice Sage Techniques again? You're just in time, today's food is very sumptuous, join us!"
As Minato looked at the fat worms on the table that were covered in mucus and the soup that was purple in color, he smiled and refused,
"I'll have to politely decline, Fukasaku-sama. I just had dinner before I came here."
An average Shinobi would've vomited on the spot if they ate this worm riceball and spider soup, but Minato was a little used to it now. This was not his first time coming to Mount Myoboku, and the Sages of Mount Myoboku were so hospitable and very friendly.
After all, for those Toad Sages, those insects were indeed rare delicacies, and they would definitely offer it to their respected guests.
However, even those Sages had things that they slipped their minds, such as the difference in species.
Even though the Toads considered those insects delicious, it was not necessarily delicious to humans.
Minato would have to eat some of the insect sometimes in order to not hurt the Sages' feelings, and Minato had to praise himself for being able to hold himself back from vomiting.
"That's really a pity. This is a sumptuous meal that my wife rarely makes." The Great Sage Fukasaku said helplessly as he ate a white bug.
Minato only smiled without saying a word.
"What are you saying, dear? If Minato-chan wants it, I will make it again tomorrow." The Great Sage Shima said enthusiastically.
Minato knew that this was not good. He looked at Fukasaku, but Fukasaku was also looking at him expectantly.
It was obvious that Fukasaku wanted him to say yes. That way, he could enjoy another sumptuous meal as well as showed their guests hospitality.
Minato: …
Realizing that he still needed the Sages' favour, Minato steeled his resolve and said, "Then I'll have to trouble Shima-sama."
"Haha, it's no trouble as long as you enjoy the food." Shima said with a smile.
Looking at the colorful fat bugs on the table, Minato was at lost for words.
Eating those bugs required extraordinary courage. If it were not for the Sages' requests, Minato would've refused for sure.
Some time ago, Nagasawa asked him to ask the Sages of Mount Myoboku if they could give him some information about Sage Technique.
Nagasawa wouldn't mind if they asked something from him in return. It was negotiable.
Nagasawa also said that he'd give Minato a surprise regardless of Mount Myoboku's response.
However, Minato did not help Nagasawa because he wanted something in return. He simply wanted to help Nagasawa.
Nagasawa was the most important person for Minato after Kushina and Naruto. They have been friends since the Academy. Close friends was not enough to describe the relationship between the two.
After eating their fill, Fukasaku took Minato to the place where he practiced Sage Technique and trained Minato there.
Minato could actually use Sage Mode already. However, it took him too long to mould Senjutsu Chakra, but he couldn't retain it for long. His Sage Mode basically expired after using one Ninjutsu.
Therefore, Minato's Sage Mode was completely useless in actual combat.
Minato's fighting style had always been fast-paced. If his opponent was weaker than him, he would simply use Thunder God Kunai.
Because it took a while for Minato to mould Senjutsu Chakra, it meant that he needed more time absorbing natural energy to enter Sage Mode.
However, the most essential requirement of absorbing natural energy was not moving and be one with nature.
How would Minato have that much time to stand still and absorb natural energy if he was in battle?
Therefore, although he could use Sage Mode, he had never used it in battle.
Sage Mode did not match his combat style, and it might even hinder him in battle.
His Sage Mode did not last long either. Under normal circumstances, it could only last for five minutes at most.
However, three minutes was enough to deal with most opponents, let alone five minutes.
If he couldn't take down an enemy in three minutes, there was a high chance that Minato stood no chance against that opponent.
After three hours of moulding Senjutsu Chakra, Minato let out a long sigh and gently jumped down.
"Fukasaku-sama, I have something to discuss with you." Minato said after finishing his training.
"What is it, Minato-kun?" Fukasaku said.
"I have a friend named Nagasawa. He wants some information about Sage Technique on Mount Myoboku." Minato said.
"Nagasawa is a close friend of mine. He is a very good person and trustworthy."
"Information about Sage Technique, huh?" Fukasaku frowned.
In Mount Myoboku, Fukasaku held a very high position. He had practiced Sage Technique for eight hundred years, and his position in Mount Myoboku was only below that of the Great Toad Sage, so he could choose anyone he wanted to learn Sage Technique in Mount Myoboku.
However, he had only encountered such a request once. Even if he gave away the information about Sage Technique, it wouldn't be easy to learn Sage Technique without personally coming to Mount Myoboku.
Even if you had someone to teach you, you might not be able to master it, let alone if no one taught you.
"Minato-kun, although I trust you very much, Sage Technique is too dangerous to be disclosed to a random person. I must see him with my own eyes and only then will I be able to make a decision." Fukasaku said in a deep voice.
"It's okay. I understand." Minato nodded and said,
"I will inform my friend once I go back and arrange for you two to meet."
