Due to his experience in inventing several Breathing Styles so far and the fact that Flame Breathing being Sun Breathing's weaker version, Nagasawa developed it very quickly.
After the Uchiha trio switched to Flame Breathing, they progressed very quickly. Since their Kenjutsu was quite good to begin with, they quickly learned Flame Breathing.
This also slightly boosted their confidence.
Since Kosuke and Hayama Shirakumo managed to learn their respective Breathing Style just fine, it made them think that they were not compatible in learning Breathing Styles. It turned out it was Sun Breathing that was too difficult to learn.
When the afternoon training was about to end, Kosuke got ingredients from somewhere and cooked a pot of chowder with the fish he caught in the river. It smelled pretty good.
"Let's eat together!" Kosuke said with a smile.
Hayama Shirakumo hesitated for a moment. He was the kind of person who did not like to eat other people's food and did not like to use other people's things. It was not that he was a clean freak, but he simply felt bad for that.
However, because he had trained for the entire afternoon, he was starving. In the end, hunger overcame his shyness. He accepted the wooden bowl and chopsticks that Kosuke handed over.
Hayama Shirakumo drank a mouthful of soup, and his eyes lit up in an instant. Then, he tried the fish next.
"Delicious!" Hayama Shirakumo couldn't help but praise.
After saying that, Hayama Shirakumo finished the food in the bowl, slurped the soup, and then got another serving.
Nagasawa also walked up curiously. Although he bought Dango in advance, the food that Kosuke cooked was really delicious, according to the manga.
"Nagasawa, join us! Thank you for your hard work." Kosuke smiled and handed a bowl to Nagasawa.
Nagasawa took Kosuke up on his offer and accepted the wooden bowl that Kosuke handed over and sipped a mouthful of soup first.
As the warm soup entered his mouth, mixed with umami from fish and various mushrooms, Nagasawa could not help but nod.
"It's really delicious. You guys should try it too." Nagasawa called the Uchiha trio, who were resting.
One of the reasons he recruited several Uchihas into the Special Combat Division was to accustom them to socialize with others. What was the point if they just socialized with their fellow clansmen?
The three Uchiha had already smelled the fragrance, but because of their pride, they were too embarrassed to join Kosuke, but when Nagasawa called them, they now had a reason to join!
The six of them sat around Kosuke's iron pot and chatted as they ate.
Kosuke circled Training Ground No. 16 and recalled his younger days. At some point, he couldn't help but say,
"The Second Hokage once demonstrated his Water Dragon Bullet Technique to me here, and it really shocked me. He only formed four hand seals, and a large amount of water appeared in an instant around him, forming a huge water dragon.
"I have heard that Second Hokage's Water Release is amazing. But why would he show his Water Dragon Bullet Technique in front of you?" Masato Uchiha asked curiously.
Kosuke just smiled without saying a word.
"Kosuke, you're pretty skilled. Why do you remain a Genin after so long?" Hatsumi Uchiha asked curiously.
"Because I can only be a Genin." Kosuke took a sip of the soup and replied with a smile.
Hatsumi felt as if he understood, but not really.
"You guys have to master Breathing Styles as soon as possible. The Academy's graduation will come soon. I will recruit some new members. By that time, you guys will be the ones who will train the new recruit and teach them Breathing Styles."
"That fast? Aren't you being too hasty?" Inari Uchiha asked.
It was only a few months away from the Academy's graduation. Would they be capable enough to teach in just a few months?
Nagasawa smiled and said, "The people you will teach are newcomers who have just graduated from the Academy or those who became Genin not long ago. Even if you can't teach them Breathing Styles yet, you can at least teach them Kenjutsu."
They all nodded.
They were all skilled Kenjutsu users chosen by Nagasawa himself, and they all were indeed confident in their Kenjutsu.
"By that time, you can choose who you want to teach according to the situation. Choose a disciple that you deem suitable. If you don't think the one you pick is suitable, pick the other." Nagasawa said.
"Do I really have to choose a disciple?" Hayama Shirakumo asked.
He had never taught anyone before, and he was afraid that he would not be able to teach them well.
Nagasawa nodded and said, "Because there are too few trainers now, everyone has to accept disciples. When this Division has more people later, you're free to decide whether you want to accept disciples or not.
"But I have never taught anyone before. I am afraid that I will get in their way." Hayama Shirakumo said honestly.
"If you haven't tried, it means that you have unlimited potential. If you haven't tried, how do you know that you can't teach? Maybe you are actually a good mentor. You're simply too afraid to try." Nagasawa said persuasively.
Hayama Shirakumo thought about it and felt that Nagasawa certainly had a point.
Before he tried Kenjutsu himself, he did not know that he was good at it and could even combine it with Wind Release.
When Kosuke heard Nagasawa's words, he thought for a moment and asked, "Nagasawa-san, does the mentor have to lead missions as well?"
If a mentor still had to lead their team during a mission, Kosuke would have to reconsider being a mentor.
He only wanted to be a fighter who rushed to the front without killing his companions because of his decision-making mistake.
"Of course not. I simply want you to teach Breathing Styles to the new recruit." Nagasawa figured out Kosuke's concerns and said with a smile.
"However, the higher your level is, the higher chance you will be appointed as the team leader in a mission.
Among A, B, C, D, and E-Level. Only A, B, and C-level were eligible to be a captain. If you are a Hashira, then the more likely you'd be appointed as a captain.
"Since this Division had just been established, there is no need to select other Hashira other than myself," Nagasawa explained.
Hearing Nagasawa's words, Kosuke silently thought that it was better to keep a low profile so that he wouldn't be a Water Hashira and was appointed as a captain because of that.
He'd love to become a mentor and nurture new talents, but he certainly didn't think he was fit to become a Hashira, even if he heard that they were the leaders.
The Uchiha trio looked at each other, wondering if there was only one Hashira for each Breathing Style.
If that were the case, they would have to compete with each other.
