Chapter 101 - Itachi and Kabuto

After studying, Kabuto prepared to go to the river to practice water Nature Transformation.

Previously, Nagasawa had used Chakra Induction Paper to determine Kabuto's Chakra affinity, which was wind, earth, and water.

This was a huge advantage.

He could still use other Nature Transformations in the future, but he'd be able to execute Ninjutsu of his Nature type faster and stronger in battle.

Therefore, he just ought to focus on wind, earth, and water. He'd only learn other Nature types once he had mastered those three.

Nagasawa himself was only good at wind and water and could barely use Earth Release. He was now mainly training wind and water Nature Transformation.

The chakra attribute of Nature Transformation who practiced wind and water for a week, and the chakra attribute of water attribute Nature Transformation.

He had trained wind type last week, and this week it was the water type.

He now had a relatively small amount of Chakra, and in order to make the most out of the training without consuming too much Chakra, the river became his best place to practice.

On the river, because there was water, it was easier to use Water Release, so it did not consume so much Chakra.

Walking to the river, he saw a child who was wearing a dark blue short-sleeved shirt and black shorts with ear-length hair sitting by the river.

Kabuto walked over cautiously.

This place was quite remote, and if he fell into the water, no one would come, even if he shouted on the top of their longs.

Even though most of Konoha's residents were Shinobi, some of them were civilians.

As Kabuto walked over, Kabuto noticed that the person was holding a bag of Dango in his hand. Kabuto saw that there were at least two or three portions of Dango.

"Your teeth will rot if you eat too much Dango." Kabuto kindly reminded.

Nono had already warned him with those exact words many times, as she was afraid that he would be led astray by Nagasawa.

Hearing a strange voice coming from behind him, Itachi immediately turned around and saw a child like him, so he was relieved.

Itachi did not say anything back. He was not very good at communicating with strangers, and Kabuto's words made him a little embarrassed.

"Where is your family? If you play by the river alone, no one can help you if you fall into the water." Kabuto added as he looked at Itachi's shocked face.

Just like Itachi, he was also a loner and not good at communicating, but the big family of the orphanage and Nagasawa slowly changed him.

"Don't worry. I'm not a bad person. Why don't you tell me where your home is? I'll take you back." Kabuto tried to use a gentle tone so that Itachi wasn't cautious of him.

Itachi: …

Could it be that he seemed mentally backward? The child in front of him actually thought he was a lost child and even wanted to take him home.

"Thank you. There's no need for that. I was just thinking about things here." Itachi politely said to clear up misunderstandings.

Although Kabuto's words made him feel like he was being looked down upon, Kabuto technically did it out of good intentions, so Itachi couldn't complain.

"So that's how it is." Kabuto scratched his head in embarrassment but still added, "If you don't know how to swim, it's best if you don't come to the river alone."

Itachi nodded expressionlessly.

If he still didn't say a word, the boy in front of him would probably still be worried about him.

However, being treated as a child that had to be looked after was quite a novel experience for him.

He had always been mature, more mature than most people older than him, and his parents could rest easy because of this. None of his peers dared to talk to him like this.

After walking a distance, Kabuto began his training.

Right now, he was still in the first step of Nature Transformation.

For Wind Nature Transformation, the first step was to cut leaves with Chakra.

As for the Earth Nature Transformation, his training was to make a hole in the ground, and as for Water Nature Transformation, his training was to fill up the hole he made.

He did this kind of training over and over again to mold Chakra faster, which also meant that his Water Release contained more Chakra, enhancing the power.

Nagasawa told him that it would take at least half a year before he could continue to the next stage.

Naturally, Itachi saw Kabuto.

He was surprised to see the white-haired boy was actually undergoing Shinobi's training. At first, he thought that the boy was an ordinary person.

Although Itachi was only five years old at this time, as the leader of the Uchiha Clan's son, he had received good Shinobi training.

He was now able to use the Great Fireball Technique, as well as the special Shuriken Technique from Uchiha Clan.

He could see that Kabuto seemed to be practicing Water Release, but he did not seem to be practicing any Water Release Techniques.

Itachi was slightly curious about Kabuto.

Kabuto should be about the same age as him, at most a year older than him, so he either did not enroll in the Academy or, at most, a first-year student of the Academy.

However, there was no doubt that the Academy did not have such training in the first year.

Itachi assumed that Kabuto was from a well-known Shinobi Clan like him. However, aside from the Uchiha, Itachi had never interacted with people from other Clans.

He was a little curious about the other Clan's views on war and life.

But Itachi also knew that if he suddenly asked others what they thought about war, he would definitely be treated as a weirdo.

Moreover, Itachi did not really have the experience of striking up a conversation with someone else.

"How should I ask him..." Itachi racked his brain.

After completing ten reps, Kabuto planned to take a break when he noticed Itachi frequently looking in his direction.

Seeing Itachi like this, Kabuto guessed that something might have happened, so he walked over and asked,

"Is there something you want to say?"

Itachi nodded slightly.

"Then say it. It just so happens that I need to take a break." Kabuto sat next to Itachi and laughed.

"What do you think of war?" Itachi asked.

"War..."

Kabuto fell silent.

He did not expect Itachi to ask such a question as it did not really suit his age.

"I can only say it's annoying. After all, I am a war orphan." Kabuto replied after thinking for a while.

"I'm sorry," Itachi said apologetically. He really did not expect that Kabuto was actually a war orphan.

Kabuto laughed. "It's fine."

Actually, I don't remember what happened in the past either. Mother said that I had injured my head and had amnesia. Also, I am doing very well now. I have Mother, the people from the orphanage, and Nagasawa-niisan. Why would you ask such a question? It really doesn't seem like something that you would ask at your age." Kabuto asked curiously.

Itachi thought for a moment and finally decided to tell Kabuto about his thoughts.
