After hitting up the marketplace and snagging a couple of intriguing items, including that legendary Elven Queen's Ring, I couldn't help but chuckle at the old man's skepticism. He thought it had nothing more than some run-of-the-mill magical buffs. Little did he know, I had my own plans. I kept my mouth shut, though; his doubt worked in my favor, and I managed to snag the ring at a bargain price. With my shopping mission accomplished, I strolled back to the Blood-fallen Palace.
"Not really," I responded, shaking my head. "Right after the meeting wrapped up, Lady Veronica handed me a pouch of gold coins and told me to get out there and explore the city. She mentioned having some personal matters to attend to."
