Before the sun came up link was already done fixing his sister's breakfast, he could still recall that weird dream he had last night, but thought it was foolish to even remind himself of such a thing, he just brought in stacks of crates that were on the back of their home trinity was already up and welcome Link with a big hug as she always does every morning.
he was seemingly not affected by all the chores he must do, he ask trinity to settle down and eat as many as she can, for he will just haul the rest of the box created inside their kitchen.
it was not that heavy but there was something very familiar in what he could smell inside so after finishing almost everything that he brought into their house he helped trinity by cleaning the tableware as she was diligently trying to reach the sink to place the plates in it, link grab a chair and lifted his sister up and place her on it so they can both clean the dishes.
Trinity hardly spoke to anybody besides his older brother but even with him, her words were short and direct. Doctors from the orphanage said that it was an emotional remoteness that young people do to suppress their pain and sadness due to a death in a family.
But Link never treated his sister differently he would always read her stories from books and share tales with her, trinity loves to sit beside her older brother as he reads a story and add some weird sounds to every action that the character would do in the tale.
She would always smile and chuckle with laughter when he would make a noise in the back of his throat like a sound of a car engine before it hits a brick wall.
Trinity was a dependable sister even at a young age she can be asked to help out with chores and she would always do what her brother say, this attitude made them closer as brother and sister. After cleaning the dishes they started to fix their new home link was handy with tools like his father, so he ask trinity to sweep the floor and he will just explore the house for tools, trinity walked toward the sofa and place her teddy on it in a sitting position and went back to the kitchen to get a sweeper, it was a lot taller than her but it never stops her from doing what link ask her to do.
She would always turn a chore into a game and have fun doing it, this time she was a witch riding a broomstick, link saw her when he was about to go outside and just smiled back and gave her a thumbs up and went out of the back door.
There were about seven medium sizes containers on their kitchen floor it was placed on the left side of their back door that was once a vacant area she sweep around the box as if she was flying a broomstick when she turned around a strange scampering noise run right behind her when she turned around to see what made that sound she saw nothing but from what she could remember that there were seven creates and now there are just six of them.
Puzzled from what just happened, she thought that link went back in and took one of the boxes, she just scratch her head and continued to sweep the floor.
She was about two feet at the rear of the boxes near the dining table as she was about to lean down at the table to sweep the floor she heard that same sound again, she looked back once again and saw nothing but now there were just five boxes left.
Believing that her brother was the culprit she once again leans down under the table, but this time in a much slower phase waiting for that scampering sound and capture her brother in the act.
At the same time, a weak whispering voice spoke "don't overdo it Ruffus she might see you"
"Two more creates would be enough, Hermes just watch me pick up these two boxes in a flash"
The two were ready for their final haul, Hermes gave Ruffus that signal as he kept the floor door open, Ruffus ran like the wind and grab the two creates and felt relieved that he was almost home free when a shadow of a long object was right in front of him and an earsplitting sound soon followed.
in the corner of his eye, he saw trinity looking at him; he was concentrating too much on his cargo and forgot to look down at the floorboards there the shadow he saw moments was actually the sweeper that trinity threw on the floor that he just step foot on, this made him lose control while running, instantly he fell on the floor and slide toward Hermes like a bowling ball the two went down including the two boxes with a loud thundering crashing sound that even Link heard outside their home.
He was about to open a chest behind the house when he heard the trinity scream, he ran back and saw that really strange thing two animals in human clothing running away like crazy from the trinity, and further look the two seems to bear a resemblance to the taking creatures in his dream. Link grab hold of one of the containers and lift it up over his head and was aiming at one of them that she was able to corner on the sofa as it ran toward the living room.
he was about to bash the animal in the head when it shouted "Wait young master don't hit me" he was surprised to hear that from a rabbit when suddenly the create was swiftly taken out of his hands,
End of Chapter one
Link turned around and saw a creature in the hands of a big dog, the two were shocked and petrified, the dog-like creature was wearing human clothing and like the Rabbit, it could talk and was insisting that they mean no harm to them. Unlike his older brother trinity has a gift for taming animals with ease. She grabs his brother's arm and gave it a tug and said "I like them"
With those little words were sufficient enough to convince link to put his guard down, his faith in his sister was the very bond that made him independent in caring for her sister all these years in the street. Trinity was always straightforward with things she did and didn't like. And most of the time she was right, her instinct helps them in a lot of tight spaces including evading all child welfare agencies from separating them thru adoption.
he was thinking for a while and adjusted his mind to comprehend what was actually happening, Ruffus the bear-like dog put the container down and ask the two in a polite manner to sit down and listen carefully to what they shall say. The rabbit went over to their living room and ask trinity if he could escort her to the sofa. Trinity smiled as she reached out her hand and ask
"What is your name?"
The rabbit replied "my name is Greg the mechanic, and that means looking individual is Ruffus the Guard" don't worry he has a kind and gentle heart even if he looks like a grumpy dog, my young child.
talking in a calm voice
"I know!" trinity replied...
as she chuckled in a low tone. Link was staring at Ruffus with utmost fascination, then it growled and said
"It's not polite to stare boy"
Link replied with an arrogant tone
"You don't scare me ya big dog"
As they enter the living room a tapping sound made them look to the right corner of the room near the old lazy chair, a turtle was sitting on that same chair and a few more images slowly came out of the room's shadowy corners. Link and trinity were alarmed to see so many of them inside their living room, the turtle smiled at them and ask Mrs. Rebecca to prepare some snacks for the two young masters. The two sat on their late grandfather's sofa and silently waited until the two noticed that the rest of the talking animals were more afraid and a bit shy to even look at them directly.
Link took a deep breath and ask the first question,
"Who are you guys?"
The turtle took out a small piece of cloth and leisurely wipe his eyeglasses and said
"All in due time master link"
Link was about to ask another question when Mrs. Rebecca put an enormous serving dish crammed with cookies and at the very end of the tray two medium size bottle of milk, the cookies looked so tasty he and trinity's stomachs growled as if they haven't eaten for a week's Rebecca took two large cookies and gave them to link and trinity and gave them a look of fulfillment .they took hold of the cookie and gave it a big bite,
And was awesome the two shouted
"It's like a swirl of happiness trap inside the cookie," link said,
He could feel that he was floating with so much satisfaction from that single bite he felt so happy, like him he saw in trinity's reaction was the same.
