The blood and human body rain was going on for a while, but Tristo wasn't focused on that. Because he was facing something far more horrifying, something none but him was ready for. Indecipherable words kept flooding into Tristo's ears. He was confused, horrified. Why wouldn't he be? After all that voice was like something out of the world, like someone was speaking something malicious with a hollow voice.
What the hell?! What the hell is going on? What the hell is this voice keeps saying? No... this can't be happening ..can't be.... these were the thoughts of Tristo. He was in a state of shock. But because of the voice, he came back to his senses. For he who was in a mess mere seconds ago, he was pretty composed though the voice still bugged him. It was taking quite a toll on him. But his five senses forced him to experience what was happening around him.
"Hey boy are you all right? Get a hold of yourself", Said the police officer.
"huh... I'm okay.. I'm okay.. I'm just taken aback by this whole situation", Said Tristo.
"No! clearly, you're not okay. You're still shaking. I will escort you inside the building. Let's see if we can find a doctor."
Saying this the police officer was about to pull Tristo up, but at that moment the blood rain stopped. When that happened everyone stood still. Then the police officer who was holding Tristo went outside the building and stood outside for a while to see any abnormality in the surrounding area. Then he came inside and spoke out loud, "The rain has stopped for the time being but I advise all of you not to leave the building. We don't what'll happen next. Also, the blood rain has painted the streets red and there are human body parts scattered everywhere!"
Hearing this the silent atmosphere broke. Chattering began among the people. Some said that they should stay here until the police or the army arrives, others said that they have families so they have to go to check on them. Some of them even said this was all the government doing to intimidate us and to keep us in check. some even suggested this was a science experiment and even said an alien invasion has begun. As time went on people's imaginations went wilder. Seeing the situation the police officer pondered upon what to do now. He made the decision to fire his gun in the air.
*Bang*
"Everyone silent! Please maintain the order. We can't be impatient in this situation and lose our composure!" said the officer as he fired his gun.
In the midst of this all Tristo fell into thoughts as the voice which was torturing him for a while stopped. But his thoughts quickly changed into something else.
20 minutes have passed since the time started to tick. So for almost 20 minutes, that horrible rain lasted. It means I was away from home for 20 minutes....is my sister okay? Has the blood rain also happened there? The probability is high.. Please be okay sis. You're the only one I've left. Please.....
Tristo made a decision. Even if the situation outside was grim, even if he was scared to go out, in fact, he was shaking right now, he has to go home. He has to see his sister. Who has taken care of him since his childhood, for whom he shares his blood. His only family. Even if they fought all the time on trivial matters, even if they hated each other for no reason, they could not live without each other. That was the strength of their familial bond. He could still remember his sister saving him from bullies when he was in elementary school and the number of times she stayed awake at night for him whenever he was ill, were too many to count. And now if that kind sister disappears from the world what he'll do? So he made a strong resolve and went outside.
11:30 AM
Tristo sneaked outside the office building when the police officer was talking to the people. He began to run as fast as he could. The road was drenched with blood and human body parts were everywhere. He wanted to puke but he held it in. His surrounding did not change as he got closer to his house. Blood and meat were everywhere. He thought the whole country was covered in gore. His thoughts quickly shifted as his thought went wild for his sister.
After running for a while he was in front of his house. His house was covered in blood. His lawn was now a pool of blood. There were few body parts here and there. Parts of what seem to be lungs, legs, fingers, etc. He shouted at the top of his lungs as he went inside his house, "Lytros! Lytros are you ok?! Answer me! Please!"
But to his horror, no answer came. He started to search every inch of the house but he could not find Lytros anywhere. His heart began to throb. His whole body felt heavy. Tears started to fall.
"No way! Why?! Whyyyy?!!! Sister, please don't play a prank with me now! Come out! Come out please!" Tristo shouted all while he was crying. His only sister was gone. He couldn't accept it. Never he can. He fell down on his knees. He stared down at the floor as if his soul had left his body. He felt like every single kind of pain hit him. Then suddenly the door of his house opened and...
"Tristo!?"
"Tristo are you okay? Why were you outside when the rain happened? And where were you? I could not find you anywhere! You're covered in blood! Please tell me you're okay." She asked all these questions all while shaking her brother. She was scared herself, but it didn't matter, because her brother was in a miserable state.
Tristo just stared at his sister in a daze. He was dazed for a few seconds as if he was seeing a ghost. As soon as he snapped out he hugged his sister tightly as if a child holding its precious stuffed teddy bear.
Lytros was surprised by Tristo's action. She was about to smack him but saw his face. It was pale as a corpse, covered in blood as if he bathed in blood. At the same time, his face looked relieved. By looking at him she could tell what he was going through. So she patted his head to comfort him, making him feel he was at home, he was not alone and she was there for him.
Tristo and Lytros lost their parents right after Tristo was born. So naturally Lytros had to take care of Tristo as no other relative wanted to take them in. As long as Lytros remembers Tristo was a shy kid from birth. He was just comfortable only with his sister. So she thought if this goes on forever Tristo might stay that way forever. So she started to behave rough with him. At first, it was going well, but it took a turn when his high school year started. He became more and more rebellious over time. So she never in her wildest dream thought Tristo could behave this way. She came to understand that Tristo had never changed. He was just acting tough. Acting tough to relief of her some burden. She was happy about it now. She thought her cute little brother has grown up.
Tristo was happy to say the least. He felt more relieved than he ever could. Because of that he felt all his strength left his body. His eyes were cloudy from crying. But the crying was not from sadness. It was from happiness. His vision started to blacking out. As he was falling asleep his last vision was his sister's relieved smiling face.
Lytros held her brother as she sat down on the floor. Then she put Tristo's head on her lap. Looking at his faced she thought this was the greatest view of her life, but at the same time it was horrible.
She knew Tristo had seen and felt the whole incident. He must be quite shaken by it. Now that she think about it after what had happened today, the world will never be the same nor will be them. But no matter what happens she will always be by Tristo's side forever.
