"Stella, I'm in a hurry."
"Stella," Cephus called her name in his deep and husky voice that scared her. He no longer wore a smile; in its place was a frown.
Stella stood there, each ATM card in her hand. She was stuck between a rock and a hard place; who was she going to listen to? Kehlani, a long-time customer, or this man that was scowling at her?
If she didn't collect his card, he looked like someone who would follow her home and deal with her.
"Kehlani, just let the gentleman pay; he really wants to," Patricia tried to convince her. She was getting tired of their back and forth.
"Patricia, I came here to shop with my own money, and I want to pay." If he wanted to be stubborn and persistent, she was equal to the task.
"Sir," Patricia turned her attention to Cephus. "Kehlani is very stubborn; even if it'll take her a whole day to stop you from footing her bills, she'll do so."
