" San! Do you have a family? ", She asked.
" A person like me, do I even deserve to have parents? I don't think so. My parents left me at the orphanage door when I was a day old. They throw me away as if I was a piece of garbage and never looked back ", He said.
He was surely hurt, everyone around him grow up in an atmosphere as good as heaven, and having parents is a blessing. Every child deserves parents but the same can't be said for the parents. Not every parent deserves a child, it's an exception. Maybe it's the reason why some people don't have children and are born infertile.
" I am sorry ", She apologizes.
She noticed that her question hurt him, but it was never her intention. Still, she was sorry for him.
" Why are you sorry? It's not like you were there when I was thrown away. Don't be sorry for something you have not done ", Santiago said.
This city surely was undeveloped, there was nothing that could be called advanced in this city. Not even basic facilities were installed. The government has seriously turned blind eye to this city. From roads to electricity, there was nothing.
It amused her to the highest level.
" I can't believe this. Its been more than thousands of years, but there are still some places that have been removed from the world map. How can someone ignore this city? I tell you, this city is even worse than the rural area in my era ", Nuri said.
The disappointment could be seen on her face, she want to punch the person who was on the throne right now. She can already imagine the lives of the people living in this city and the problems they might have to go through.
" You keep on talking about the era that was thousands of years ago. Do you think you came from the past? Like, you travel to the future? ", Santiago asked her, he sounded dead serious.
What should Nuri say to him?
"It's hard to believe but it's the truth. However, I won't say that I travel to the future, because I don't have all my memories right now. There are some fragments of memories which was foreign to me, but they are mine. The weird thing is...I don't remember doing anything of that ".
If it's Santiago, she can be honest with him. If it's him, she can tell him anything that's on her mind. In front of him, she doesn't feel nervous or anything, he gives her a blissful feeling.
While talking to him, something immediately struck her mind. " Huh? Why am I not losing myself even though I am making eye contact with him? have I recovered? ", She mumbled to herself.
Even yesterday, her charm didn't work on him. Yes, her making eye contact with him did make some changes in her character but that was for a short time. Shortly after she returned to her real self.
Wait! Something was not right, she didn't return to her real self. Instead, her other personality embraces her when with him.
Even now she could feel her body being uncontrollable sometimes but it was not that hard to regain control over her body.
She thought maybe she had recovered but it was temporary. Or maybe it was just because of him that she could keep up with her real self.
They keep on moving in the given direction. Even though there was a big live map in front of her eyes, Santiago was better than it, his directions were accurate and there was no need for the map. But just in case, it can help her when in need.
It was pretty early when they departed, it was still chilly in the morning. But soon the sun took over the sky, making the environment all heated. As if the ground was hitting, trying to cook everything alive on the earth. Quite the hard feeling right there.
They keep on walking, their feet were feeling like walking on a heated pan, too hot.
" Should we stop by somewhere? ", Santiago asked.
" Huff! I am thinking the same. The days are too hot, and I feel like I will cook if I stay under the sun any longer. Let's find a shelter ".
