Chapter 22 - Fooling The Eldergods [2]

The outcome of their first encounter was truly disappointing, but there were not going to be fooled a second time.

"Don't worry; I don't feel like torturing them anymore, let's kill them on sight!"

Belen replied through gritted her teeth as they all transformed into several beams of light, heading towards Daniel and the three demigods.

Flashback to the time when Yama claimed they had five more minutes to exit the barrier.

"Yama, those eldergods are obviously lying in wait for us to exit the barrier; do you have a way out of this?" Valpak asked as Yama shut his eyes to think.

After a few moments, he opened his eyes and explained.

"Our main priority is to ensure that the kid reincarnates successfully; to do that, we would definitely need to distract those guys, and this is my plan-"

"The repulsive energy of this realm would definitely push us out through the same direction we are fleeing; the closer we are to the edge of the barrier the earlier we would arrive outside it."

"Sun; you and Valpak would be the distraction. You will have to create two clones and use your transformation ability to create a replica of us that can temporarily fool Kvass' eye of truth."

"I know they're monitoring us and will sense our presence the moment we exit the barrier, so you guys will have to flee in the opposite direction and try to stall them for as long as possible."

"Don't worry, I have a way to retrieve both of you safely."

"Once they have caught onto our bait, I and the kid would exit the barrier and I will immediately begin the preparation for his reincarnation." Yama explained.

"Doesn't that mean our teams will exit the barrier at the same time?" Valpak asked.

"The repulsion will not be instant, so I and the kid will stay right here till it begins; that way you and Sun would definitely exit this realm before us."

"How do you know the repulsion won't be instant?" Sun asked.

"That's because I know a little about how the 'Realm of All Beginnings operates." Yama answered with a smile.

"Just go; I will explain once we reassemble." Yama urged as Sun removed two strands of his silky golden hair which turned into clones of himself.

He then ordered them to use his transformation ability to change into Yama and Daniel's appearance; the technique required a bit of Yama and Daniel's soul energy which the duo quickly made available.

The moment the clones absorbed the soul energies, everything about them instantly imitated Yama and Daniel, from their energy signature to their aura, voice, temperament, expressions, and so on.

Once that was done, Sun and Valpak fled in the opposite direction toward the edge of the barrier.

"Will this plan work?" Daniel asked.

"It should, but we need to worry about ourselves for now. Though the repulsive power will get weaker the farther we are from this palace; its starting power is still as strong as a demigod's fully powered attack." Yama replied.

"Eh? The repulsion is that dangerous?!" Daniel asked in shock.

"Of course; the Realm of All Beginnings is a trial ground for only elder gods, and those who passed their trials would be able to gain the inheritance of several primordial existences."

"Demigods and even true spirits are forbidden from entering it; moreover, after every trial, it completely vanishes and will only reappear on a random plane of existence once it is time for the trial grounds to open once again."

"It was only because the prophecy stated that the forgotten cornerstone would enter this place with three demigods that we dared to appear before it."

"Moreover, if you could remember, no matter how much we tried, we couldn't pass through the barrier; obviously you being a mere mortal was the key to passing through it."

"Furthermore, since we could receive such a prophecy, it was only normal that the goddess of oracles would also receive the same prophecy; so, we believe she was the reason the true spirits learned about our mission as well."

"Just like us, they also have no idea about how to pass through the barrier, thus they sent elder gods instead of gods, thinking they would be able to brute their way through it." Yama explained as they began to feel a very tyrannic energy gather within the palace.

"But why didn't they send three demigods then?" Daniel probed.

"The prophecy stated that three demigods would enter with the chosen one; obviously they knew some of us will obviously make our moves, so they dispatched numerous gods to monitor and hold back all demigods."

"But I, Valpak, and Sun are much stronger than all demigods and even on par with most gods, so we were able to reach you in time."

"Furthermore, we had to travel into different planes just to throw their suspicions away from our true goal, which is finding you and ensuring that you reincarnate to a place beneath their radar."

"But those old coots were wise enough to wait for our ritual of creating Nuwa's stone; the gem creates a phenomenon that washes across all creation, and that was how they were able to spot us and track us here."

"Luckily, we were able to enter this domain before they arrived, and since the time for the trial ground hadn't come, the barrier still stood strong, preventing any divine being from entering."

"However, no one would have thought a mere mortal would be able to enter the void and exploit such a minuscule loophole in the laws governing the domain." Yama laughed out loud when he reached this point.

"So, all they could do was allow us to finish what we came here to do and simply lie in wait to obstruct the final phase of the mission." Daniel guessed whilst Yama agreed with a nod.

"I hope this works; otherwise, all our efforts would come to naught."

"Though we might be on par with most gods, the three of us combined are still insignificant in the presence of one determined elder god, not to talk of three or five." Yama solemnly revealed.
